In early February, Directors of the CIA, FBI and National Intelligence declared that an attack by Al Qaeda in the next 3 to 6 months “is certain!” Leon Panetta, CIA Director announced, “The biggest threat is not so much that we face an attack like 9/11. It is that Al Qaeda is adapting its methods in ways that oftentimes make it difficult to detect.”
Panetta’s statement does not take into account the ability to identify any terrorist whose goal it is to give up their life for a cause. Only when you are observing measurable emerging aggression can you identify a terrorist before they effect their violence.
The Center for Aggression Management discovered 15 years ago that there were two kinds of aggression: adrenaline-driven Primal Aggression and intent-driven Cognitive Aggression. The Primal Aggressor, in the extreme, is “red-faced and ready to explode,” the Cognitive Aggressor (the terrorist) is not. When a person, regardless of the culture, gender, education or position, rises to the level where their goal is to give up their life for a cause, their body looses animation and we see the “thousand-yard stare.” But it is more than this, the whole body and behavior looses animation and this is how we can identify them. The problem is that security and law enforcement are still looking for the Primal Aggressor (red-faced and ready to explode). Of course they are finding it difficult to detect these terrorist; a terrorist is a Cognitive Aggression; they are looking for the wrong person!
As our Government analyzes what went wrong regarding Abdulmatallab’s entrance into the United States, you can be assured that Al Qaeda is also analyzing how their plans went wrong. Who do you think will figure it out first . . . ?

'Bin Laden' claims Christmas Day bomb plot
January 24, 2010
Adam Fresco
A new audio tape said to be from Osama Bin Laden that claims responsibility for the Christmas Day airline bombing attempt in Detroit has warned of further attacks
against America. The short recording purporting to be from the al-Qaeda leader, which was aired on Al Jazeera television, said: “The message delivered to you through the plane of the heroic warrior Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was a confirmation of the previous messages sent by the heroes of the September 11.”
On Christmas Day, Mr Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian national, allegedly attempted to blow up the Northwest Airlines flight he was sitting on as it approached Detroit Metro Airport. But the bomb he was said to have been hiding in his underwear failed to explode.
He told police shortly afterwards that he had been trained and instructed in the plot by al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen.
More than 60 messages have been broadcast by bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahri, al-Qaeda’s number two, and their allies since the September 11 attacks in 2001.
The tape was aired after MI5 raised the terrorist threat level in Britain from "substantial" to "severe" — meaning that counter-terrorism agencies believe that an attack is "highly likely".
It is believed that intelligence whispers from America that an al-Qaeda affiliated group is close to finalising another atrocity coupled with a conference on Yemen and Afghanistan in London this week led to the decision.
The measure was approved by the Government's Cobra emergency committee and announced by Alan Johnson, the Home Secretary, who said he wanted to emphasise that “there is no intelligence to suggest than an attack is imminent”.
David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, said today that it would be “very stupid” of him to comment on the intelligence behind the change in threat level.
“The fact is though that these people will stop at nothing; they will try every trick in the book, they will use advanced technology, they will use all the mechanisms of open society that we depend on for their own terrible purposes.
“And they will try to strike Christians, Muslims, Jews randomly.”
The Government had a responsibility to keep the terrorist threat to the UK “under very careful scrutiny”, he added.
“We think it’s right to keep the public informed about the general threat level.”
Mr Miliband said that the Christmas Day attack demonstrated “the links that can exist between different terrorist groups”.
But he told BBC One’s Andrew Marr Show that he would wait to see whether the tape was authentic.
“Let’s wait to see what he actually says; we know that the al-Qaeda senior leadership are in the badlands of the Afghan-Pakistan border, probably on the Pakistan side,” he said. “We know too that the Detroit attack was the first time that al-Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula, which is a sub-group of the al-Qaeda franchise ... represents an attack on the West rather than an attack within the Middle East.
“Let’s see what he says but it obviously demonstrates both the dangers that exist but also the links that can exist between different terrorist groups.”
Mr Miliband said that there was an important meeting about Yemen on Wednesday. The meeting in London, called by Gordon Brown, will be attended by representatives of the Yemeni Government, regional powers and Britain’s allies, probably including US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
It will come one day before a key conference in London on the future strategy of allied forces in Afghanistan, to be attended by President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan.
Federal agents did not read Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab his legal rights until nearly ten hours after he was arrested, it was reported today.
He is said to have freely admitted his role in trying to blow up the aircraft but then refused to answer any questions when finally given his Miranda warning providing his right to remain silent.
In an interview with the Associated Press unnamed officials said that the suspect spoke openly and in detail about what he had allegedly done and the planning that went into the attack.
Other counterterrorism officials speaking on condition of anonymity said that it was during this questioning that he allegedly admitted he had been trained and instructed in the plot by al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen.
Investigators are said to be allowed to question a suspect without providing a Miranda warning if they are trying to end a threat to public safety.
In a future trial in a federal court, AP reported, prosecutors would likely justify Mr Abdulmutallab's questioning without a Miranda warning by arguing that the FBI agents needed to know quickly if there were other aircrafts with other bombs headed for the United States.

Friday Afternoon Roundup - A New Year, a New Terror

by: Daniel Greenfield a/k/a Sultin Knish
Barely has 2010 begun and we've already had multiple terror arrests, one after another. And then we've had multiple arrests that aren't even being described as terror related.
Just today, we've had two more arrests out of New York of friendly religion of peace folks. Only a few days before that, a Palestinian Arab Muslim who owns a mosque was taken off a plane for shouting that he wanted to kill Jews. The media however is dismissing it as nothing more than a drunken incident. Debbie Schlussel has video footage of his court appearance.
The latest Pentagon report shows that the Gitmo terror returnee rate is up to 20 percent. And again, those are only the ones the Pentagon knows about. Worse yet many of the returnees from Gitmo are actually playing key roles in Al Queda, particularly in Yemen. This is significant because liberal pundits and lawyers often made the argument that these were small fry who just happened to come to Afghanistan and wanted nothing more than to go home.
Well they came home and began the Jihad all over again. Which naturally those same pundits and lawyers claim was only attributable to how much we humiliated them at Gitmo.
Then there was the Westergard ax attack, a shooting in a church in Egypt and all the usual roundup of terrorist attacks in areas in Afghanistan, Russia's Islamic republics, Israel, Kashmir and all the other parts of the world that Muslims have turned into a war zone.
All in a matter of a few days.
The sobriquet, tiny minority of extremists has become an obvious joke. And Muslims insist on reminding those who forget of the consequences of ignorance.
And the Tolerance March of Death continues. In Malaysia, tensions are overflowing because non-Muslims are daring to use the word Allah.
The absurdity of Muslim hypocrisy on the subject is that Muslims routinely demand that Allah be translated as god in the West, assuring us that it's a universal idea. But at home Muslims demand to be the only ones with the right to use Allah. What this translates to is an attempt to monopolize the very idea of god, as being the property of only Islam.
And that is the endgame for the blasphemy laws being passed in Europe as well. We haven't gone all the way yet, even in Michigan a man who posted anti-Islamic cartoons isn't actually being charged. Not because the politicians don't want him charged, but because the laws don't actually exist. Yet.
Investigators say the man told them that Muslims are "anti-Christian" and that he found the images online and thought it would be "cool" to post them on utility poles in the St. Cloud area. And so for now the man isn't headed to jail. For now.
"While I do not condone the crude and distasteful messages which the suspect in this case attempted to convey, criminal prosecution under the statutes available to this office would not be successful,"
Kendall wrote that the cartoons were political speech, and that the suspect was educating people rather than threatening them.
Petersen told the paper he had not decided on whether to file other charges.
Side note: Muslim claims that IDF dogs are trained to attack anyone shouting Allahu Akbar, a cry commonly used by terrorists just before they begin their slaughter.
The opening of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai has gotten the usual stars and spangles coverage, while no one in the media has bothered to examine Dubai's virtual slavery in the construction industry. Or just how much of the money being spent was based on investor gullibility.
There is naturally no coverage of the fact that the UAE is an Islamic tyranny. That it sponsors terrorism. That in Dubai a female British tourist was arrested after being raped.
The 23-year-old Londoner says she was attacked by a waiter in a hotel toilet after celebrating her engagement to her boyfriend with drinks, The Sun reports. That of course is how Muslim countries have effectively legalized rape. And tourists foolish enough to try and deal with the Emirati police, which despite the glittering architecture, is just a bunch of thugs employed by the desert rat sheikhs running Dubai, get a one way trip to a jail cell.
But after she admitted drinking alcohol and sharing a hotel room with her fiancé, police in the strict Islamic state arrested her for "illegal drinking" outside licensed premises and having sex outside marriage.
Her 44-year-old fiancé, also from London, was charged with the same offences. Both were thrown in police cells by officers who paid little heed to the rape.
The devastated couple are understood to be on bail awaiting trial and have had their passports confiscated. They could be jailed for up to six years if found guilty of the illicit sex charge.
British embassy officials in the desert emirate are helping them.
A diplomatic source said: "There have been some truly appalling injustices in Dubai but this one tops the lot.
"A desperate, distressed rape victim went with her boyfriend to report the attack to police. And both wound up behind bars.
"The police and authorities in Dubai have shamed themselves by yet again displaying a breathtaking lack of compassion and humanity."...
Her attacker, who is understood to be Syrian, is believed to have denied rape. He claimed the Briton consented but has also been charged with "illegal sex".
The British embassy officials, whose main function there is visiting trafficked Ukranian prostitutes and promoting business deals with British companies will of course "help out". After enough helping out, which will consist of them crawling on their knees before the sons of desert bandits and suggesting delicately that English ignorance of Islam's fair and honest laws may create a negative image for Dubai, the couple will be expelled to England, the rapist will not be charged with anything (nor is this the first time he likely did something like this) and foreign tourists will once again get a lesson they will soon forget about not visiting Islamic countries.
Despite all this, there is of course no talk of boycotting Dubai. Andrew Sullivan who demands that US troops invade Israel to create a Hamas state, isn't concerned about a dictatorship where a few percent control a labor work force that comprises much of the country.
Naturally not.
Dubai is an illusion and a lie created to attract Western tourists and investors. It is a modernist facade built on a primitive and backward fundamentalist society that trades oil and luxuries to the very infidels it despises, repaying them with Jihad and oppression.
Beneath the skyscrapers, Dubai is no more modern than Cairo or Karachi.
United Arab Emirates--Dubai just opened the ultimate trophy building -- the world's tallest skyscraper, which soars a neck-craning 2,717 feet into the air -- but just try getting there from the airport. All of Dubai is one great big Potemkin village.
Your polite, epaulette-wearing cabdriver screeches down a 12-lane highway and -- with the tower in plain sight -- he goes miles past it, leading you to wonder whether he's lost his way or is ripping you off. Only when he finally reaches an interchange and then doubles back to the tower do you realize what's going on: Dubai wins no medals for urban planning....
At ground level, the fronds are packed with high-priced villas while the stemlike road leading to them is lined with monolithic rows of hulking apartment buildings. These look as though they were designed by architectural refugees from East Germany who added a few Islamic touches.
Multiply this gap between image and reality a hundredfold and you have the Dubai that was taking shape before the global recession of 2008 and the emirate's debt crisis. It is a city of isolated enclaves, lacking convenient connections to one another, and brutal linear strips, exemplified by the eyesore high-rises along the emirate's main drag, a superwide highway called Sheikh Zayed Road.
Meanwhile Guliani's comments have stirred up a storm.
First up Daniel Friedman points out the false AP Headline on the story.
Here's the headline and lede of an AP top story being carried verbatim by the media across the country this morning:
Giuliani: Obama 'turned the corner' on terrorismThe Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart went another route by questioning Giuliani's patriotism. (Remember when liberals were boiling mad at even the idea of anyone questioning their patriotism?)
WASHINGTON – Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Friday he believes President Barack Obama "turned the corner" on understanding the nature of terrorism when he publicly declared the U.S. at war.
Here's video of the full "Good Morning America" interview with Giuliani that the AP purports to be referencing, which ABC News titles, Rudy Giuliani Criticizes Terror Trial.
In a post titled, "Rudy Giuliani fails citizenship test", Capehart proves that
A. He doesn't know what a citizenship test is
B. Compares anyone who criticizes Obama to an Al Queda terrorist
"But anyone who dabbles in the irresponsible chatter that Obama and his administration couldn't care less about protecting Americans is, like an al-Qaeda foot soldier"
Now this is a fantastic quote because when conservatives said things like this a few years back about groups that actually worked to undermine America and help terrorists... such as anti-war protesters (a group that includes Obama) and the ACLU... they were accused of fascism and McCarthyism.
But McCarthyism is cool at the Washington Post when it's Capehartiasm.
And in a citizenship competition between Giuliani and Jonathan Capehart, whose only contribution is being one of Obama's many barely distinguishable bootlickers, does he really think he's going to win?
The only thing significant here is that the Obama media is very predictably redefining patriotism as support for anything Obama does.
Moving on with the roundup now, Debbie Schlussel points out that the CIA bomber was actually a Palestinian Arab, though of course most of Jordan is Palestinian Arab.
But after Nidal Malik Hasan and Mansor Mohammad Asad, Balawi makes 3.
In NJ, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who I'm not a fan of but is correct in this case, is battling Libya.
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, best known as the author of Kosher Sex, lashed out on Tuesday at a US congressman who was quoted as saying residents of Englewood, New Jersey, should be "good neighbors" to a Libyan diplomat planning to move to the New York City suburb.Sure. Shouldn't we be good neighbors with a terrorist state. Shocking from Steven Rothman, a Democratic congressman with a lifetime rating of 82.54% with Progressive Punch.
Boteach accused Rep. Steve Rothman of brokering a closed-door deal for Libya to buy a mansion in Englewood in 1982.
Coming a day after the Democratic congressman issued his own press release criticizing Boteach, the rabbi fought back, asking: "Will he really defend the right of an envoy of a terror-sponsoring government to live in our midst, spending millions of dollars on his home while refusing for more than a quarter of a century to pay even one dollar in taxes?"
In an interview with the New Jersey Jewish Standard, Rothman said: "The George W. Bush administration reestablished diplomatic relations with the Libyan government and removed Libya from the list of state sponsors of terrorism... Up until this moment the Englewood police chief has advised me that he sees no problem in allowing the ambassador and his wife and children to occupy the residence. And so, I hope everyone will be appropriately good neighbors."
Meanwhile since there is a small cottage industry dedicated to claiming that Jews had it great under Islamic rule before the creation of the State of Israel, two small tastes of what religious freedom for Jews looks like under Islam, at a time when there are virtually no Jews living anymore under Islamic rule.
Israelis make pilgrimage to rabbi's tomb in Egypt
Hundreds of Israelis came to Egypt earlier this week for an annual pilgrimage to the tomb of a 19th-century Jewish holy man in Egypt's Nile Delta, airport officials said...By contrast, mind you, Israel has allowed Muslims to regularly maintain mosques built over Jewish holy sites in the cave of the patriarchs at Hevron and at the Temple Mount.
In past years, Egypt limited the number of pilgrims visiting the tomb of Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira near the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria. But Israeli newspapers reported that President Hosni Mubarak accepted a request from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he visited Egypt last week to allow unlimited numbers.
Since Egypt and Israel signed a peace treaty in 1979, Jewish devotees, mostly of Moroccan origin, have been flocking to the site for a ceremony at his tomb. But Egypt has limited the numbers of pilgrims. In 2001, a Court in Alexandria ruled to ban the ceremony after complaints by opposing groups.
Some residents claim the shrine is not the tomb of a Jew.
Egypt guards the stone tomb, which stands in a small chamber, and allows visitors only for the January anniversary of Abuhatzeira's death.
The tomb is a vestige of Egypt's once-prosperous Jewish community. Jews in Egypt go back to the time before Moses. And by the founding of Israel in 1948, they numbered about 80,000 people. But the Arab-Israeli wars, and the resentment and expulsions that they engendered, have reduced Egypt's Jews to about 60 people, living in Alexandria and Cairo, according to the Israeli embassy.
Secondly over in Iraq, Muslims are doing to the tomb of the Prophet Ezekiel, exactly what they do to every holy site they get their hands on. Tearing it apart and replacing it with a mosque.
Early reports that Iraq plans to retain the Jewish nature of the Tomb of the Prophet Ezekiel are apparently false. Sources in Baghdad say that the government plans to turn it into a mosque and erase all Jewish markings
Since then, however, reports have surfaced that the government is actually planning to build a mosque there, including removing the ancient Hebew inscriptions that adorn the site. Some reports say that all or some of the lines of Hebrew script have already been erased...
Shelomo Alfassa, Director of Justice for Jews from Arab Countries, reports that Islamic political parties have pressured the government to remove the Jewish inscriptions. He quotes the Iraqi news agency Ur News as reporting that the writing and ornamentations “are being (or have been) removed… under the pretext of restoring the site.”
Alfassa quotes sources to the effect that Iraq’s Antiquities and Heritage Authority “has been pressured by Islamists to historically cleanse all evidence of a Jewish connection to Iraq - a land where Jews had lived for over a thousand years before the advent of Islam.”...
Though well over 100,000 Jews lived in Iraq a few decades ago, this number has now been decimated to no more than eight, Prof. Moreh said. “There are others,” he added, “but they barely know that they are Jews; in many cases, their parents did not tell them.”
Alfassa concludes: “Iraq - the Biblical Mesopotamia -is almost as rich in Jewish history as the Land of Israel. The tomb of the prophet Ezekiel dates back to the Babylonian exile in the sixth century BCE. It was there in Iraq that Abraham discovered monotheism, and it is where the prophets Ezra, Nehemiah, Nahum, Jonah and Daniel are all buried.”
Continuing the roundup, Jerry Gordon at Red County looks at another unforeseen development produced through Muslim immigration to America. Clan warfare.
Yesterday, two Somali Cousins , owners of a corner grocery and Halal market in the Seward section of South Minneapolis, and a customer were savagely killed. ...Ted Belman at Israpundit posts a speech asking reasonably enough why we fund NGO's in the first place.
Given the backdrop of the Al Shabaab recruitment of Somali émigré youths and recent indictments of 14 persons of interest by federal prosecutors in Minneapolis, one might speculate that the violence of clan warfare that has torn apart Somalia might have also spread to America. Could that be the unmentionable motive behind the Seward section Somali murders in Minneapolis? From the comments in the news conference by Minneapolis Police Chief Dolan are any indication, perhaps the ‘other agencies’ involved might be the FBI Counterterrorism task force. We also speculate whether the unsaid specter of clan warfare may behind killings and gang activities in other major Somali émigré communities in the US.
I’m certainly not opposed to the existence of groups that denounce the neo-liberal agenda, run radical boot camps, declare carbon holidays in the name of God or think Israel is the worst country on Earth. I just don’t think they should do it with our money. If they’ve got causes they believe in, good for them. Just let them pay for it themselves, like the rest of us.Ah but that's where the wealth redistribution comes into the picture.
Finally for those in the LA Area, Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors will be holding an important panel discussion on the Goldstone report featuring Richard Landes of Augean Stables and Omri Ceren of Mere Rhetoric, as well as the Israeli Deputy Consul General in LA (see full notice here at the CJH site)
The Jewish State in 2009 is under attack from the broadest and most sustained delegitimization campaign since before the founding of the modern Jewish State, bringing together journalists, academics, jihadists, diplomats, totalitarian thugs, and human rights activists in a coordinated effort to erode Israel's freedom to defend itself. The widely criticized Goldstone Report, accused Israel of war crimes during its defensive Cast Lead operation while ignoring Hamas' deliberate use of its own population as human shields, and downplaying the role of almost a decade of documented rocket attacks on Israeli civilians from Gaza, is at the center of this global anti-Israel campaign.Considering that a clause in the Goldstone report could open the door to international sanctions, as was recently reported in the Jerusalem Post, that makes such an event all the more important.
The panel will explore the flaws in the Report, the potential consequences of its implementation, and the responses of its critics.

Obama’s “pro-terror” Security Plan
Obama: Soft on Islamic terrorists, tough on domestic terrorists
So as not to offend any of his Muslim brethren who paid for his college education and much of his presidential campaign, Obama rejects “terror profiling” the very common traits of Middle Eastern men most likely to travel with a bomb in their shorts in favor of the TSA treating everyone at an airport like a potential terrorist.
And although the intelligence community did its job, and the fact is, it was Hillary Clinton’s State Department, which sat on the knowledge that a Yemen member of Al Qaeda was about to board a commercial flight for Detroit with a bomb in his underwear, Obama uses the Christmas Bomber opportunity to take another swipe at the CIA – a swipe that Leon Panetta was fast to rebuff.
Despite the fact that Abdulmutallab climbed aboard a US bound plane at a foreign airport, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano sees placing 300 new imaging machines at US airports as the solution. 300 imaging machines at US airports would not have stopped Abdulmutallab, who didn’t climb aboard that plane at a US airport. But Janet’s agency is far more concerned with “potential domestic terrorist” (aka, those opposed to Obama’s Marxism) than folks like Abdulmutallab. Hence, 300 new scanners for US airports.
Meanwhile, Eric Holder has assured the Fruit of the Loom bomber his day in a US criminal court, complete with US civil rights and a taxpayer-funded dream team of lawyers that will surely get his charges reduced to jay-walking before this circus is over.
The clear increase in potential terror attacks from “the religion of peace” has given no pause to Obama’s intentions to release his friends from Club Gitmo, and bring them to US soil where US lawyers paid for by US taxpayers can make certain that America, the DOD and the CIA, pay for their crimes against the terrorists who have allegedly been abused (water-boarded) during their “unconstitutional” detention.
But just in case you think that Obama isn’t tough on terror, just look at how he is going after “domestic terrorists” caught doing their job within the US Military. Military courts are fine for our soldiers, but not for terrorists, if your last name is Obama or your first name is Osama.
That’s because according to Janet Napolitano, American soldiers (aka, potential domestic terrorists) present a greater threat to the Marxist agenda underway in DC. Foreign terrorists actually help the agenda by keeping the average citizen focused on the foreign enemy so that they hardly notice the enemy within…
Those who might “resist” Obamunism are far more dangerous than those willing to help Obamunism by keeping the American people engaged in self-defense, while the people responsible for providing a common defense train their guns upon “resisters of the revolution.”
What a country these days…huh!
Not too long ago, a white paper was declassified which contains the following warnings –
“Al Qida (misspelled in the briefing) is not some narrow, little terrorist issue that needs to be included in broader regional policy. Rather, several of our regional policies need to address centrally the transnational challenge to the US and our interests posed by the Al Qida network.
Al Qida is the active, organized, major force that is using a distorted version of Islam as its vehicle to achieve two goals; 1) to drive the US out of countries from Morocco to Indonesia; 2) to replace moderate western regimes with extremist theocracies along the lines of the Taliban.”
This white paper was not written by the “warmongering” Bush Administration to an incoming Obama administration. It was written on January 25, 2001 for the incoming Bush Administration, by none other than Clinton official, leftist anti-Bush hero, Richard A. Clarke.
Yet here we are in 2010, with an administration that refuses to recognize the very real fact that walking away from the “transnational” war on Islamic terror will not end the war on terror, it will only bring that war to our own planes and streets.
Clark’s report went on to say – “Al Qida affects centrally our policies on Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asia, North Africa and the GCC. Leaders in Jordan and Saudi Arabia see Al Qida as a direct threat to them.”
Less than nine months after this report was written, 3000 American citizens died on September 11, 2001. Like it or not, the Bush administration national security adjustments made in the wake of 9/11/01 kept the nation safe from further attack through the end of their term in office.
Nine years later, under a new “terror friendly” Obama regime, we find average American citizens having to risk life and limb to thwart terror attacks on US planes, under an administration that is more concerned with anti-Obama resisters than well-known Islamic terrorists.
Treating American soldiers and Tea Party goers like “enemies of the state” while affording known enemies of the state common criminal benefits of the doubt, is no accident. Even Obama, Pelosi and Reid are not that ignorant of reality. Even common leftists know that turning the other cheek with Islamic terrorists will simply get more innocent civilians killed.
So, we are left to ponder what the real purpose of a pro-terror security plan is really all about – what purpose it serves – who benefits from a spineless US security policy which lets terrorists roam free while keeping a close eye on domestic resisters of the Obama regime?
Rather than making any assumptions myself, I leave the answer to this question up to you.
But one thing is certain – Obama’s policy decisions will get more American citizens killed and when they do, Obama won’t be able to blame that on the Bush administration. It’s the Obama administration now and Obama will own the results of his policy decisions, all by himself.
Obama is a big boy playing a big boy’s game in a big boy world. Whatever happens from this moment forward, it is Obama’s legacy being written. Where’s Richard Clarke now?

National Security Adviser Says Airline Bomber Report Will 'Shock' Americans

FOX News.com
James Jones, a retired four-star Marine general, says Americans will feel "a certain shock" when a report is released today detailing the intelligence failures that could have prevented the Christmas Day attack.
Americans will feel "a certain shock" when a report is released today detailing the intelligence failures that could have prevented the alleged Christmas Day airline bomber from ever boarding the plane.
In an interview Wednesday with USA Today, White House national security adviser James Jones said President Obama "is legitimately and correctly alarmed that things that were available, bits of information that were available, patterns of behavior that were available, were not acted on."
"That's two strikes," he was quoted as saying, referring to the failed Northwest jet attack and the shooting massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, in November. The Army base attack left 13 dead after officials failed to act on intelligence identifying suspected gunman Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan as a threat to fellow soldiers.
Jones, a retired four-star Marine general, told the paper that Obama "certainly doesn't want that third strike, and neither does anybody else."
The White House on Thursday plans to make public the declassified account of the near catastrophe on Christmas Day, and President Obama was to address Americans about its findings and recommendations. Obama, too, was to reveal new steps intended to thwart terrorist attacks, as he promised earlier in the week.No firings over the December security debacle are expected -- for now, at least.
For an administration rocked by the breach of security, the day was meant to be a pivot point from an incident that has dominated attention.
"In many ways, this will be the close of this part of the investigation," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Wednesday.
For nearly the last two weeks, Obama and his team have spent enormous time responding to the crisis of a 23-year-old Nigerian man who was in a database of possible terrorists and managed to fly from Nigeria through Amsterdam to Detroit with an explosive concealed on his body. The White House is eager to start putting public attention back to its efforts to expand health care and boost the economy, while careful to say Obama will be monitoring security improvements.
The suspect, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, was indicted Wednesday on charges of attempted murder and other crimes for trying to blow up an airliner.
His father had warned U.S. officials that Abdulmutallab had drifted into extremism in the Al Qaeda hotbed of Yemen but that threat was never identified fully by intelligence officials, a breakdown that has drawn intense, candid criticism from the president himself.
Still, even with whatever details and improvements are revealed Thursday, questions will remain. Senate committees plan hearings later this month.
And it remains unclear whether any top officials from Obama's not-quite-year-old administration will be fired over the debacle.
"I don't know what the final outcome in terms of hiring and firing will be," Gibbs said.
He said no personnel announcements were expected on Thursday.
Two legislative officials familiar with intelligence matters, one in the House of Representatives and one in the Senate, said Wednesday that it appeared unlikely that anyone in the Obama administration would be fired over the incident. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.
Obama's comments Thursday will be his sixth on the incident, encompassing two statements to reporters during his Hawaii vacation and two more from the White House, a written statement on New Year's Eve and his radio address last weekend.
The president blistered the intelligence community earlier this week, saying flatly that the government had enough information to uncover the plot and disrupt the attack. "It was a failure to integrate and understand the intelligence that we already had," Obama said.
Charlie Allen, the former head of collection at CIA, said the government suffers from a shortage of experienced intelligence analysts.
Analysts take pieces of information -- like the disparate threads available before Christmas -- look at them, correlate them, and then make a "very strong leap in order to reach a decision," Allen said. "It takes experience."

Obama: 'Full investigation' launched
“A full investigation has been launched into this attempted act of terrorism, and we will not rest until we find all who were involved and hold them accountable,” Obama said in brief remarks at Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay, a short drive from the rented beachfront house where he is spending the holidays with his family and friends.
Obama called a 23-year-old Nigerian man’s alleged attempt to ignite explosives on the flight as it descended into Detroit Metropolitan Airport “a serious reminder of the dangers we face and the nature of those who threaten our homeland.” The suspect, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, has claimed ties to Al Qaeda and said that he obtained the explosive device in Yemen. Less than an hour before Obama was scheduled to speak, the terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attempted attack.
Obama did not address Al Qaeda directly but said he directed his national security team “to keep up the pressure on those who want to attack our country.”
“We do not have all the answers on this latest attempt, but those who would slaughter innocent men, women and children must know that the United States will do more than simply strengthen our defenses,” Obama said. “We will continue to use every element of our national power to disrupt, dismantle and defeat the violent extremists who threaten us — whether they are from Afghanistan or Pakistan, Yemen or Somalia, or anywhere.”
Obama said that he spoke earlier Monday with Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and his counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, and said that “the American people should be assured that we are doing everything in our power to keep you and your family safe and secure during this busy holiday season.”
But the president offered no new details about steps the federal government has taken, since the incident occurred Friday, to ensure that air travel is safe, and his remarks, the first he has made since the incident, came as the White House struggled to send a clear message in the aftermath of the attempted attack.
On Sunday Napolitano said that “the system worked.” But she said on Monday that her words had been taken out of context and that she was referring to what happened after the incident occurred.
“Our system did not work in this instance,” she said on NBC's "Today" show. “No one is happy or satisfied with that.”
Dressed casually in a blue jacket with no tie and taking no questions from reporters, Obama reiterated the steps the administration has taken since Friday — adding federal air marshals on flights into and out of the United States, stepping up its coordination with local law enforcement and ordering reviews of airport screening procedures and of the government’s process for compiling terrorist watch lists.
The reviews were announced after it was determined that Abdulmutallab made it through airport security with the bombing materials attached to his body and was not on a no-fly list or a larger list of individuals who are flagged to receive additional searching before they can board an airplane.
“We need to determine just how the suspect was able to bring dangerous explosives aboard an aircraft and what additional steps we need to take to thwart additional future attacks,” he said.
Obama called on Americans to remain vigilant and praised the crew and passengers aboard Northwest Airlines Flight 253 for subduing and restraining Abdulmutallab after he caught on fire in trying to detonate the device.
Abdulmutallab was charged Saturday with attempting to detonate explosives on the Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.
“Thanks to the quick and heroic actions of passengers and crew, the suspect was immediately subdued, the fire was put out and the plane landed safely,” Obama said. “
“The American people should remain vigilant but also remain confident. ... We will continue to do everything we can to keep America safe in the new year and beyond.”
