Blast likely occurred on roof, police say, causing second floor to collapse; all the injured were foreign workers carrying out labor jobs in Netanya; restaurant on ground floor ignites into flames.

An explosion occurred Friday evening in a building on Pinkas Street in Netanya, causing a number of apartments to collapse. Initial reports said that the blast originated from the ground floor of the building, and that residents lived on the second floor.

The blast, which happened in Netanya's old industrial area, also caused a restauranton the first floor of the building to go up in flames.

Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the reason for the blast was unclear and it had caused a wall in a restaurant to collapse.

Channel 2 said an electrical short-circuit may have caused the incident, rather than it being crime or terrorist related.

Magen David Adom teams evacuated eleven injured people. One person was moderately injured, while the remained sustained light injuries from smoke inhalation, police said.
Paramedics took seven of the injured to Laniado Medical Center In Netanya and the other four, included the moderately injured man, to Hillel Yafe Hospital.

All of the injured were foreign workers carrying out various labor jobs in Netanya.

Firefighters gained control over the blaze which allowed police and firefighters to continue investigating the cause of the blast.

In June, a gas explosion in another Netanya building killed four teenage girls and injured over ninety people. Two men, one of which was a gas technician, were arrestedover that blast.

NOTE:
Isn't it strange that the only time we receive news on Israel is if and when PM Netanyahu intends to visit the U.S.?

I can't help but think that any news of Arab Muslim terrorists on-going war against the Israelis would not fit into the Aran "Peace Plan" that is supported and pressured under Obama's administration.  If Americans were made aware of the dangers facing Israel, from its "neighbors", there would be a much better understanding why there is "no peace in the ME:.The State of Israel is not doing the attacking, or the sending of rockets into civilian homes/schools/and school buses; but Israel most certainly does have a responsibility to defend herself.

Negotiations with terrorists is impossible - just ask our troops in Afghanistan/Pakistan, Iraq, and now in Libya; with air strikes also in Yemen.  Fighting Islamic terrorism appears to be on-going, never-ending and these Islamist s just can't put their swords and bombs down long enough to live peacefully in a civilized world.

Hamas is united with the Palestinian Authority - time for Congress to stop all aid to the PA's until everyone of them accept Israel's right to exist; or, Congress needs to explain to the America people why we're putting out BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to an organization that uses terror as a means of existing, rather than living peacefully among themselves and Israel.

And to the Palestinians - stop making bombs and start baking bread for your citizens.
