Pakistan: Taliban blow up 3 more schools

With apologies to Sam Cooke:
Don't know much about history;
Don't know much biology;
Don't know much about a science book;
Don't know much about the French I took;
But I do know that Allah hates you*;
And I know that if we blame the Jews,
What a halal world this would be.

*Sahih Bukhari 2.24.555: "Allah has hated you" for asking too many questions.

"Three schools blown up in Orakzai Agency," from Dawn, April 29:
PESHAWAR: Three schools were blown up by militants in the Mamozai area of upper Orakzai Agency on Thursday.
The attacks were the latest in a slew of militant violence. On Wednesday, suspected militants attacked a checkpoint in Beizot. Forces retaliated and killed five suspected militants and injured several others.
Five suspected militants were also arrested in Mishit-Mela and Ferozekhel.
It has been almost four weeks since the Orakzai operation was launched in the agency, in which troops claim to have killed over 400 militants so far.
Security forces also claim to have consolidated their positions in most parts of the lower Orakzai and now claim to be advancing towards the central part of the agency.
In the Khyber Agency at least five militants have been killed and 18 others have been arrested including two commanders of Lashkar-e-Islam in Bara Tehsil.

Militants. Militants. Militated to what? Why have they taken up arms?

Call them what they are, call them Moslem acitvists, please.
The Ministry of Truth -- Minitrue, in Newspeak -- was startlingly larger than any other object in sight. It was an enormous rectangular structure with a glittering gold dome, and next to it, soaring up 300 metres into the air, stiletto-tipped minarets. From where Winston stood it was just possible to read, picked out on its white face in elegant lettering, the three slogans of the Religion:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

OOPS! and DOUBLE-OOPS!
Second post abrogates first post.
And verily Yankel is most wise.
With all of the schools that they blow up, it's amazing that they don't walk around with clubs over their shoulders, while dragging women behind them from their hair.

Hillary? HILLARY? Do you have any truisms to speak on this new news about your negotiating partners?
*** 8:12 ***
If not, may I be so bold as to suggest you work your negotiations through that new Taliban Professor dude Yale was lucky enough to snag last year? He must be a talky guy, after all, he was the Minister of PR for the Taliban before he fell to rest in those august New Haven fields.
So talk. Yap yap yap. Wherefore whereby and whereupon. Star menses or just plain menses. What does it matter so long as globo-socialist lips are flapping, that's the key.

Get real, Hoffman. No way would they drag them. They gotta walk under their own power, five paces back. Just like they do on the sidewalk alongside Yankee Doodle Avenue in Eagan, Minnesota.

I saw that, no lie. Section 8, too.

You could have gone w/ Pink Floyd

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control'
" ... it's amazing that they don't walk around with clubs over their shoulders, while dragging women behind them from their hair."

Well, that's the reason the women all wear niqabs or burkas.
.......why need school when all thinking done for you in Koran?
.......what need school for when all thinking already done in Koran....
sorry double....some sort of glitch......I need some more schooling!
What's the wisdom of Ask the Imam on the very important question of education for Muslimahs? He quotes the Hadith:
"Ibn Umar reports that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: 'A woman should not emerge from her home except if she is forced to do so"
Of course, he goes on at greater length, but why bother? What do you need school for when you have purdah?

Yes, Islam must be the perfect culture.
"No more pencils, no more books
No more mullahs dirty looks
School's out for Jihad!"
Ebonystone - you are right, I didn't consider the burka and niqabs when I compared the Taliban to cavemen - cavemen were more sophisticated ! Thanks for pointing that out.
APF - I guess that having to drag them along would show some kind of resistance to Allah..not permitted. I think that I will try a little experiment with my wife.
I will ask her to stay at least 5 paces behind me, wherever we go.
If the JW readers don't hear back from me in a day or two, everyone will know what the results were.
Brother, I've been married for 29 years and I can already telling how your experiment will turn out...........
Safer for you to walk 5 paces behind your wife.
Islam is militant ignorance.
Allahu clarkbar!
It is instructive to recall that the Caliph 'Umar ordered the destruction of the Great Library of Alexandria after the Muslims conquered the city in 640 C.E. 'Umar, upon being informed that the library was a repository of all the world's knowledge, ordered it destroyed because, as he allegedly averred, "If its books disagree with the Koran, they are heresy, but if its books agree with the Koran, they are superfluous." In either case, the library's fate was sealed. While this story may be apocryphal, it serves to illuminate the attitude of the Believer - the Rightly Guided Muslim - toward secular learning. This contemptuous view of secular learning, as virulent among zealous Muslims today as it was in the seventh century, is an important reason for the targeting of schools by the Taliban and their allies. Of course, Marisol's citing of the hadith in Sahih Bukhari is another facet of this non-receptiveness to ideas which may promote heterodoxy in Islam (remember, the gates of ijtihad have been permanently closed for hundreds of years).
Ladies and gentlemen
When Marisol quoted that song, I simply cannot resist.
Here, to carry us light years away from the hell of dar al Islam, and to show us something about the West, about the wonderful civilisation we inhabit and how men and women can comport themselves within it, is an exquisitely beautiful and very sexy movie scene - lit like a Rembrandt painting - that uses the very same Sam Cook song Marisol quoted.

It's from Peter Weir's classic film, 'Witness', starring Kelly McGillis as Rachel Lapp the Amish widow, and Harrison Ford as John Book, the rough diamond Honest Cop who has had to take refuge among the Amish.
Eros and detachment, desire and self-command: a man and woman, fiercely attracted to one another, who nevertheless treat one another throughout the film with honour and honesty; and who can *laugh* at one another.
I can never watch this scene without thinking of Psalm 84:
"Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed one another".
*She*, the pacifist Amishwoman, is mercy and peace; *he*, the rough-diamond policeman from the big city, is Justice and Truth. And so: they dance; the dance of which dar al Islam knows nothing, and which it hates and cannot comprehend, the music and the dance that Islam strives ceaselessly to annihilate.
