Libya's Gaddafi Calls For 'jihad' in Switzerland

Thursday, 25 February 2010 - Libya's Muammar Gaddafi has called for a "jihad" or armed struggle against Switzerland, calling it "an infidel state that is destroying mosques".

The Swiss voted in November 2009 for a proposal by the Swiss People's Party to ban the building of minarets.

The party's Ulrich Schleur said the country was not ''in danger'' following Mr Gaddafi's remarks.
