Aside from the problems posed by covering one's face in an intensive language class, the very nature of the niqab rather defeats the purpose of the program offering the course: integration. An update on this story. "Niqab gets 2nd Quebec student expelled," from CBC News, April 12 (thanks to Michael):
For the second time in the space of a few months, a Quebec woman has been thrown out of a French-language course after she refused to remove her Muslim veil.
The woman, who wants media to refer to her only as Aisha, is a 25-year-old permanent resident from India. She was enrolled at the Centre d'intégration multi-services de l'Ouest de l'Île in the Montreal suburb of Pointe-Claire, which works with the province to integrate new immigrants.
She says it has been about a month since officials from the provincial Ministry of Immigration and Cultural Communities approached her one Friday morning and told her to make a decision: agree to stop wearing the niqab in class or stop attending the class.
The niqab, worn by some Muslim women, is a veil that leaves only the eyes exposed.
Aisha says the government should have been fully aware she was wearing the niqab before she started the intensive language course.
"If they had such a problem with it, they would not have given me admission," she says.
Course organizers had little warning about meeting
Centre co-ordinator Joannie Lavoie says Immigration Ministry officials only informed the centre they intended to meet with Aisha on the same morning that they met with her.
Lavoie says they told the student she could either take her niqab off or leave.
Aisha was completing the fifth week of the course when she was called into what she describes as an emotionally difficult and "ridiculous" meeting with two government officials.
"Everything was going smoothly in the school," she told CBC News. "Everyone has been very good to me. It was a really heartbreaking experience for me because I really loved my school, and I think it's my civil right to go there, to learn."
Aisha's case is similar to that of another woman, Naima Atef Amed, who was expelled twice -- in November 2009 and then again last month -- from government-sponsored French-language courses in Montreal for refusing to remove her religious face covering.
Amed, who is of Egyptian origin, has since launched a human rights complaint against the province.
Both Aisha and the centre's director, Mustapha Kachani, say the ministry told them the veil is an obstacle to learning a language.
The provincial government currently has a bill in the works that would require anyone who wears face coverings in Quebec to remove them if they want to work in the public sector, do business with government officials or receive government services.
Aisha says she's aware of the legislation and hopes Bill 94 never passes, "because it's going way too far."
The bill will go through commission hearings and could be adopted by the end of the spring.

No, it is you, in your presumption and arrogance, who along with a great many of your co-religionists, all over the advanced Western world, wish to insist that you have no need to integrate, though you are perfectly willing to take advantage of every benefit that is so generously offered, and that includes learning of the local language, as well as of the local legal system (which you and those others, while despising everything about Infidel man-made laws, especially since the legal and political institutions of the West are flatly contradicted in letter and spirit by the Shari'a), because as Tariq Ramadan himself hissed the other day, it is important for Muslims to learn the three L's: the local language and the local law, the better to conduct taqiyya-and-tu-quoque with the first, and to promote Islam, even to conduct campaigns of Da'wa, and to know the local law so as to use it to Muslim advantage even though it would be the first thing in a future Muslim-dominated land that would have to go, and finally, the third L was "loyalty" -- which Tariq Ramadan left hanging, so that his audience would assume he meant "loyalty" to the Infidel nation-state and to Infidel citizens, but of course he couldn't possibly have meant that, he meant "loyalty" to the Community of Muslims, the Umma, and to Islam itself, the true object of worship in Islam.
Her attitude is not that of someone overflowing with gratitude at having been accorded the rare privilege of being allowed to live in Canada, a country whose institutions and achievements have nothing to do with Islam and could never have been possible in a Muslim-ruled state. No, it is one of aggression, one of demand. All those who think that way should be encouraged, in a thousand different ways, not to make Canada their home, and not to assume that it will, even if they manage to acquiire, through perjured oaths and other means, citizenship, be theirs no matter what they do. The smug assumptions that "we are here" and "now there is nothing you can do about it" -- which underlie Tariq Ramadan's new tone ("Get over it" he tells Westerners -- "we're here, we're part of Europe, and there is nothing you can do anymore about it") -- have to be, and can be, and because of the behavior and attitudes of Muslims themselves, will be proven wrong.
I'll make a bed. Heck, I'll make two......
1. CAIR-CAN is involved.
2. Quebec will give in.
"I'll make a bet.."
It is time for the West to make the same demands of muslims that they make of non-muslims in islamic hellholes. If they can't adapt and accept our way of doing things, they should not be here. The religious freedom granted to everyone is islam's free ticket in the West because their religion is all-encompassing. They can use the "religious freedom" excuse to demand almost anything and that needs to change. Muslims are even exempt from the new health care debacle that was recently imposed on the rest of us because their religion does not permit the purchase of insurance. They have to buy automobile insurance to drive but they will be exempt from buying health insurance because it is considered a "gamble". What crap!
Hugh did a great job explaining why that bill will not go far enough to save us from the attack of Stealth Jihad which roughly 80% of our elite politicians appears to totally ignore.
Why does it always ends up that anything the MoSlums do or want is opposite to that is needed to keep the fabrics of our society in place? Islam contributes NOTHING of a value in the Western culture, and for some wacky reasoning they think they are always right.
I could easily and happily live without a single MoSlum insisting on niqab or what have you in a Western country.
SHE SAYS-"I really loved my school, and I think it's my civil right to go there, to learn." -
She appears to know her civil rights from wrongs, however, she couldn't careless about the civil rights of the co-students and the staff who may find her presence disturbing. She couldn't careless about the civil rights about the fellow Canadians who pay high taxes to give her the opportunities to learn and better herself to integrate beyond the dreams of the Islamic wasters.
JIHAD WARNING; STOP IMPORTS OF ISLAMIC IMMIGRANTS BECAUSE IT CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE THE FABRICS OF THE SOCIETY!
Around my hometown in Pennsylvania we had Amish folks. My daddy had a stand at the local farmer's market and when I was about ten I got to know a few of the Amish -- wonderful people. At first their way of dress, bonnets, hats, long dresses (not to mention horses and buggys!) seemed very strange, but after awhile I didn't even notice that they were "different." They were sweet, caring people with nothing "sinister" about them at all, so over time they blended in well around town, and no one but the odd tourist ever really "talked" about them.
But muslim women in veils are the furthest thing from folks like the Amish. There really is something "sinister" behind those veils, burqas and hijabs.
In My college days we had Two Muslim students in a Batch of around 200 Students in North Part of India. As this was a Engineering college so quite difficult of get in and then we had the communal problems in that time period.
One of Muslim guy used to keep a Sword and think in 200 students he was the only one to keep a sword in his room. It was a known fact and this is the audacity Muslims show.
If a Hindu or Christian would have done in a Muslim majority college in India definitely he would be killed. Then this guy has done is masters from Ivey League colleges and works in US.
This is the background of many of the Muslim students who come to USA from India.
Another Girl who did her undergraduate in Jamia Milai islamia in Delhi came to do her masters and now works in a Illinois university used to regularly go to attend MSA meetings and travelled to New york etc and she was quite young.
The one student I met in my university and lol I in my foolishness asked her was she from middle east as she was wearing the niquab and came a Sullen reply Hyderabad India.
This left me shaken then I thought in my mind that do such idiots still exist in India and left it at that
Now after listening to Robert Spencer and also reading Quran i understand all this craziness.
After reeducating myself in Indian history and not believing in the Marxist history written and taught in India.
History taught in India is literally all fraud. The main aim of history of India is to love Muslims and praise Muslims . The same people who killed and murdered 80 million Hindus. The Manipulation of Indian History was done my Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (First education minister of India and a Muslim )
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abul_Kalam_Azad
This in fact does prove that never have a Islamic believer in a position of power in a Kafir Society.
In India we have 100’s of Muslims in position of power and they create as much as problems as possible.
In the Bombay Taj Mahal Hotel killing the commissioner of Police was a Muslims and he definitely created lot of problems and blamed everyone except himself.
Well Canada and every country need to ban Burka .Even in India the Muslims have created a Parallel state.K S Lal book explains it all.
Theory and Practice of Muslim State in India
by K. S. Lal
http://voiceofdharma.org/books/tpmsi/
My hope is that we do finish this Islamic ideology in this century .
LOL
Let them know that they are on OUR soil and will play by OUR rules or they will be sent back to their ISLAMIC HELLHOLES.
"Even in India the Muslims have created a Parallel state."
Pakistan.....!

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..
Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'
'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'
'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE.. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'
Would that one of our leaders here in the US would step up and make this clear...
Unfortunately, I think that was a hoax from 2008.
Only a politician with a spine would say that and politicians with a spine are hard to find.
All this was accomplished by the dhimmified Gandhized politicians. want an example of the extreme dhimmitude of an Indian politician? Here is the PM manmohan Singh, a Sikh kissing up to the Muslim public, " the Muslims of India have the first right to the resources of this land". Need I say more?
First of all: I was interested to discover that Hugh, and Blue Raven, both noticed the same line that jumped out at me when I first skimmed through the article:
Aisha says she's aware of the legislation and hopes Bill 94 never passes, "because it's going way too far."'
That line really grated on my ear, too.
Arrogance. Sheer infernal arrogance.
Secondly - it is worth noting that the female in question is NOT yet a citizen. She has permanent residency, but NOT citizenship. Her behaviour and demeanour should ensure that she does not ever receive Canadian citizenship. Islamosavvy citizens of Quebec should be lobbying strongly for the denial of citizenship to such as she, and indeed, I think that even her permanent residency status should be seriously reconsidered, if she persists in making trouble.
France set a good precedent, earlier this year, as regards citizenship and the burqa. Read down through this story:
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?apage=2&cid=1263147902802&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
"Silmi, the Moroccan woman seeking French citizenship, began veiling herself completely only after coming to France in 2000. She said she and her husband Karim, who was born in Paris to Moroccan parents and has French citizenship, discovered a deepening of their faith through books and cassette recordings not available in Morocco {hmmm - books and tapes by revivalist jihad-minded sharia-pushing 'clerics' the Moroccan government suppresses, perchance? - dda}.
"She insists her partner did not impose the veil on her - and says she is in the process of divorcing him after 10 years of marriage.
"*Silmi was refused French citizenship for what authorities said was her failure to assimilate into French culture*".
There you go, O Quebec, Canada. Should 'Aisha' seek to upgrade from 'permanent residency' to full citizenship: do what France did to the be-burqa'ed 'Silmi' - say NO, because her insistence on wearing burqa and niqab openly declares her deep rejection of, and intent to NOT fully assimilate into, Franco-Canadian culture.
Final thought - I did like the style of the Immigration Ministry people, as related in the report. I get a funny feeling that some of these people are starting to work out how they have to deal with Muslims: hit hard, hit fast, and take 'em by surprise:
"Immigration Ministry officials only informed the centre they intended to meet with Aisha on the same morning that they met with her.
Lavoie says they told the student she could either take her niqab off or leave."
That's the way to do it, guys.
Now all you have to do is scale up the ultimatum, to 'Aisha' and all the others like her (and any family associated with them):
"either take the niqab off, or leave...Canada".
The next step after that is to realize that even the seemingly-innocuous Islamic headscarf is a slave badge, often worn under compulsion (compulsion that may extend as far as beatings and death threats), and when voluntarily worn, corresponding to a Swastika badge as the most obviously visible mark of a person's membership in a dangerous supremacist cult; and to accordingly make a demand that might enable Canada to get rid of a great many *more* Muslims:
'either take the hijab off, or leave Canada".
Oh Canada.
Go Canada!
I know what he meant.
Just letting him know that I consider Pakistan to be part of India, stolen by the Arab invaders.
But it seems to me that Islamosavvy Canadians who lurk or post here, have to find out who has proposed this sensible piece of legislation, and who will be voting on it, and should then write to these people expressing intelligent support and offering additional arguments.
Letters of support to the the provincial Ministry of Immigration and Cultural Communities - the people who had the gumption to tell 'Aisha' to take off her niqab, or leave (shape up or ship out!) - should also be pouring in. You could always enclose a copy of our Hugh's remarks as posted in this thread.
There is also no reason why 'yes! let's ban the burqa' marches and rallies - or, perhaps, picnics? - should not be held in Montreal.
I am sure the Muslims will be campaigning *against* the bill; so the campaign in its favour - and pushing for more extensive bans! - needs to get cracking.
It might be worthwhile looking up - and printing off, in pamphlet form - this excellent little article that appeared in MEMRI some time ago, on the subject of the Islamic female slave rag -
Inquiry and Analysis - No. 533 - Reform in the Arab and Muslim World - July 7, 2009
Reformist Iranian-French Writer Chahdortt Djavann: The Hijab, a Political Weapon and Form of Sexual Abuse, Should Be Outlawed - By N. Maruani
http://www2.memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=subjects&Area=reform&ID=IA53309
I do not know whether many in Quebec would be aware of Chahdortt Djavann, author of a book called 'Bas les Voiles' (Off With the Veil), but it sounds as though It should be possible to track down, print off and circulate - in the original French - some of Djavann's statements on the veil.
Has she ever been invited to visit Canada and speak about the political meaning of the hijab?
An excerpt from the linked article:
"She [Djavann] writes that the veil cannot be presented as a personal choice, disregarding centuries of Islamic history.
'She adds that it is inappropriate to probe the motivations of every young girl wearing the veil when what is at stake is a political agenda.
'Djavann explains further: "*The veil has never been innocent or innocuous. It has always signified the submission of women to men and the denial of legal rights to women in Islamic countries* {my emphasis - dda}."
'She stresses that the Islamists did not invent the veil, but have turned it into a weapon and made of it the symbol of their cause.
'Addressing the growing phenomenon of veiled women in European Muslim communities, Djavann points out its centrality to the Islamist propaganda:
"The political, ideological, and psychological impact of the veil goes far beyond its appearance… If this weren't the case, why would the Islamists make it their main focus? ... It constitutes a constant call to order by Islamic law."
Bravo Quebec!
Quebec has done what no yellow-pinko-communist American or British dhimmi school administrator or a government Muslim boot-strap licker lawyer/politician would dare do.
At least its a momentary relief to know that in continental America there is someone with a shred of courage to enforce a law or rule that Muslims also have to obey.
