Is Barack Obama the Last Best Hope of Hamas?

by Jonathan Tobin

Barack Obama's belief in "engagement" with America's enemies hasn't worked out too well with Iran but that doesn't stop his No.1 fan at Time magazine from encouraging the president to try his luck with Tehran's ally Hamas. That's the upshot of Joe Klein's lament, in which he criticizes Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's tough talk with the Arab world at the Brooking Institution's U.S.-Islamic World Forum in Qatar. Klein, along on the junket with Hillary, wasn't terribly interested in the secretary's obituary of Obama's failed outreach to Iran. But he did have harsh words for her summary of the situation in Gaza, which she rightly blamed on Hamas's violence. The fate of Gaza, solidly in the hands of Iran's terrorist proxy, would, she said, have to await a comprehensive settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Indeed, as long as an Islamist rejectionist group controls Gaza, nothing can be done about the place.

That answer pleased neither the Arabs nor Klein. The writer places the blame on Israel for Obama'sMiddle East, acknowledged failure in the while ignoring the fact that neither the supposedly moderate Palestinians of Fatah nor the extremists of Hamas have any interest in learning to live with a Jewish state, no matter where its borders are drawn.

Yet rather than concentrating our energies on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons — a development that would undermine the security of most of the Arab world as well as present an existential threat to Israel — Klein wants the United States to concentrate its energies on finding a way to lift the partial international blockade on the terrorist state in Gaza. The blockade of Hamasistan allows food and medical supplies to enter the area but seeks to prevent the import of building materials (which can be used to bolster Hamas's thriving small-arms industry) or weapons from abroad. The three conditions that Israel has placed on lifting the blockade are an end to the terrorist missile fire from Gaza into southern Israel, a stop to arms smuggling, and the release of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. Klein is right that the missile fire has come to what may be a temporary halt. He also believes that the smuggling issue can be resolved, although, as shown by the death of a Hamas leader in Dubai at a time when he was seeking to facilitate the transport of weapons from Iran to Gaza, this is not a minor point. As for Shalit's ordeal, Klein dismisses it as "an insane sticking point."

So what's his solution? The United States must "engage" the Hamas terrorists. That's something that both and Clinton have rightly pledged not to do — but, according to the columnist, "if ObamaObama's policy really is about engaging our enemies, he needs to engage Hamas — and Hamas needs to respond. Quickly." According to Klein, the problem for Hamas is that the alternative to dealing with Obama is a return to the policies of the dread Dick Cheney and the neoconservatives. He concludes: "The leaders of Hamas — and other potential interlocutors, like the Syrians — need to understand that this may be their last best chance for progress. After Obama, the deluge."

While a more sensible foreign policy may well have to await the election of a new president, what Klein fails to understand is that no matter who sits in the White House, it is not in America's interest to rescue the killers of Hamas. Rather, it should be our policy to isolate and hopefully oust them from power. But if any argument is designed to undermine the appeal of the president's discredited engagement policy, it is Klein's belief that Barack Obama is the last best hope of one of the world's most vicious terrorist groups.

Obama's ACORN lie exposed

February 23, 2010 - 12:50 ET

GLENN: So Barack Obama has told us time and time again that he has nothing to do with ACORN. In fact, do we have the speech that he gave or when he was asking in the press conference? During the election they asked him, what's your relationship with ACORN? And he said, look, I only did one thing. I was an attorney on a case. Do you remember this?

PAT: Yeah. He said it's very it's very straightforward.

GLENN: Very straightforward.

PAT: "I was an attorney with them on one case clear back when I was, I don't know, like an infant or something. I was barely even born."

GLENN: Do we have the audio?

PAT: I don't know.

GLENN: Look for the audio.

PAT: I'd have to look.

GLENN: So we have the audio of him and we'll play it for you in a second. And then he was on with George Stephanopoulos and he you know, George Stephanopoulos said, you know, what's the deal with ACORN? Are you aware of this? And he said, I don't pay any attention to that stuff. Now we have some video of the president of the United States, verification of one of the most blatant lies I've ever seen where he looks right into the camera and tells you, "I was just, I did some attorney work for them, that's it." This now is apparently video from during the campaign where he was meeting with who we assume were ACORN officials because he's referring to ACORN as "You," and here's how he describes his relationship with ACORN.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: And I definitely welcome ACORN's input. You don't have to ask me about that. I'm going to call you even if you didn't ask me.

When I ran Project Vote, voter registration drive in Illinois, you know, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it. Once I was elected, there wasn't a campaign that ACORN worked on down in Springfield that I wasn't right there with you. Since I've been in the United States Senate, I've been always a partner with ACORN as well. I've been fighting with ACORN, alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career.

PAT: On that, that sounds a lot like I worked with them on one issue.

GLENN: Doesn't it?

PAT: Yeah.

GLENN: You don't even have to call me. I'll call you. I'll call you. We talked, I think it was last summer I said, warning, ACORN is going to break up and break up into several pieces. Stu, can you give me the names, please, of all of the different pieces that they are breaking up into now? They are broken up now in Massachusetts, they have broken up in California. The next one I understand is supposed to be Texas, but they are breaking up and changing names. This is what progressives always do. They change names. They don't go away.

Here are the names and the states that they are changing in.

STU: New York is now changing to New York Communities For Change.

GLENN: Mmm.

STU: Doesn't that just seem so wonderful?

GLENN: Oh, yes.

PAT: I feel like the change word was the theme of somebody's campaign at some point. Meanwhile the Massachusetts branch of ACORN has been named New England United for Justice.

GLENN: Mmm.

STU: Does that feel good?

PAT: Justice always feels good.

GLENN: Just know in New England United for Justice calls you, it's ACORN. Nothing is changing except the name, and they're dismantling their national membership, their national membership. That's it.

PAT: But that's all?

GLENN: But that's it.

PAT: Okay.

GLENN: But that's it. So you got that going for you. And you've got the president of the United States claiming that he knows nothing about it. That's clearly untrue. It's clearly untrue and clearly a blatant lie.

STU: And there's such an interesting part of the media here where you have and the other one was the California one, by the way, Alliance for California's Community Empowerment. All these names are changing. The national organization of a big news story over the past year is dissolving because of, you know, all of the corruption that's been inside of it, and you have at the same time, it's from a congressman, right, who uncovered this video, right? Is it Darrell Issa?

GLENN: Yeah, Darrell Issa.

STU: So you have a congressman that uncovers video of a president lying about that story, yet it's still invisible in the media.

GLENN: Now, let me ask you this: How is it possible that this is invisible? How is it possible that this is invisible? Major organization, center of controversy for years dissolving, going away, same time president is exposed as a liar. This is not a small lie. This isn't trivial. This is, I have nothing to do with them, I don't really even know to, "I'm going to call you guys. I've been involved with you every step of the way. Every bit of your campaigning in Illinois, I'm with you." How is this not a lead story everywhere in America? When you think that the news is giving you the truth, think again. How is it possible if truth is what you're really looking for? How is it possible that Van Jones is now going around to schools and talking to schools? Where is that? I thought everybody was upset that he had to be driven out of politics because he was a 9/11 Truther, which was the least of my worries. The guy is a communist revolutionary. He had to be driven out of schools, but now he can go back into schools. He had to be driven out of the White House but now he can stand shoulder to shoulder with Democratic senators. How's that working? There's no intellectual honesty at all in the media. I wonder what's going to be said now about Nancy Pelosi? We have the statement from Nancy Pelosi. We'll give that to you in a second. And now we have the correction from Nancy Pelosi. Now we have Nancy Pelosi coming out and saying, oh, well, you know what? Okay, they were lying... but now that there are, there's actual evidence, now that the CIA has released evidence that she was briefed, what is she going to say now?

White House defends Obama envoy to OIC: "This is an individual that has written extensively on why some have used religious devices like the Qur'an to

Jihad Watch.org/

It's all right that he defended a jihad terror leader and then tried to cover up that fact, because he wrote about how the Qur'an doesn't justify terrorism. Got that?

If anyone can direct me to Hussain's writings about the Qur'an, please write me at director [at] jihadwatch.org.

"W.H. affirms confidence in Islam envoy," by Josh Gerstein at Politico, February 22:

The White House is expressing its confidence in a White House counsel's office attorney President Barack Obama recently named as U.S. envoy to the Islamic Conference, Rashad Hussain, despite his concession last week that he made ill-considered statements in 2004 about Bush-era terrorism prosecutions.

"Were you misled? Do you maintain confidence in this man the president wants to be his delegate to the Islamic Conference?" Fox News's Wendell Goler asked White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs at the daily briefing Monday afternoon.

"We continue to have confidence," Gibbs said. "This is an individual that has written extensively on why some have used religious devices like the Qur'an to justify this [terrorism] and why that is absolutely wrong. And has garnered support from both the left and the right so we obviously have confidence."

Hussain initially said he had no recollection of comments he was reported to have made in 2004 portraying the Bush Administration's treatment of alleged Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Sami Al-Arian and the handling other terrorism cases as "politically-motivated persecutions."

However, after POLITICO obtained an audio recording of the event, Hussain acknowledged that he made the comments and that he had earlier approached a magazine about removing them, which it did....

The new scandal? (Bribery - White House)

AmericanThinker.com

By Thomas Lifson

Jeffrey Lord of the American Spectator breaks a potentially important story, making the case that there is ample ground for a formal investigation of potential law-breaking by the Obama Administration.

The discovery that the White House has now been reported on two separate occasions in two different states to be deliberately committing a potential violation of federal law -- in order to preserve the Democrats' Senate majority -- could prove explosive in this highly political year. The 60-seat majority slipped to 59 seats with the death of Senator Edward Kennedy, a Democrat, and the election of Republican Senator Scott Brown. Many political analysts are suggesting Democrats could lose enough seats to lose their majority altogether.

This is the stuff of congressional investigations and cable news alerts, as an array of questions will inevitably start being asked of the Obama White House.

The specific crime alleged is bribery:

"Whoever solicits or receives ... any....thing of value, in consideration of the promise of support or use of influence in obtaining for any person any appointive office or place under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both." -- 18 USC Sec. 211 -- Bribery, Graft and Conflicts of Interest: Acceptance or solicitation to obtain appointive public office

Specifically:

For the second time in five months, the Obama White House is being accused -- by Democrats -- of offering high ranking government jobs in return for political favors. What no one is reporting is that this is a violation of federal law that can lead to prison time, a fine or both, according to Title 18, Chapter 11, Section 211 of the United States Code.

The jobs in question? Secretary of the Navy and a position within the U.S. Agency for International Development.

The favor requested in return? Withdrawal from Senate challenges to two sitting United States Senators, both Democrats supported by President Obama. The Senators are Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania and Michael Bennet in Colorado.

As Lord notes, this has the potential to impact the 2010 elections, if it becomes known, and pressure builds for a formal investigation. But of course, the mainstream media will avert its eyes, and dismiss this as normal politics.

Pathological narcissism

By Kelly O'Connell Sunday, February 21, 2010

As regards defining personality traits, Barack Obama’s chief attribute will undoubtedly go down as pathological narcissism. But it also doesn’t help his cause that he has a glass chin the size of Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Stadium. Barack simply can’t take criticism in any constructive fashion. But why is that? Fundamentally, despite his Ivy League pedigree, it seems Obama sprouted to maturity without any of the normal struggles, ordeals, obstacles or setbacks against progress that normally aid in the development of character, depth, maturity and wisdom

Like the greenhouse-raised petunia, upon entering a real-world environment, with all the inclement weather, scorching sun and other unpredictable elements—the light and heat went straight to his head and he degenerated from a prosperous seedling to a stunted and shocked vegetative state. And now he’s even developed drooping popularity. Poor Barack!!

Now, consider: Before assuming the US presidency, Obama was protected like the elusive unicorn; or a fragrant holy cow; or King Arthur’s magic albino stag; or some other insufferably coddled sacred beast. For example, when running for his first Illinois state senate election, all Barack’s opponents were conveniently driven off the ballot by individual lawsuits, one-by-one. And when it finally came to his US Senate race, his opponent, Jack Ryan, watched as his legally sealed divorce records, with their damaging personal information, were exposed like an anonymous tip dialed into the IRS on April 14th. Ryan, too, dropped out. Even for a neophyte, it’s a bit hard to lose a race with only one candidate running! (apologies to Alan Keyes)

So, instead of being buffeted by life’s vagaries, and experiencing all the setbacks associated with coming up tough in a hard world, Barack was kowtowed to like the next black-velvet Elvis. And how sad for all the rest of us who have to absorb his endless pontificating lectures, stern Stalin-esque rebukes, bloviated teleprompting speeches, and holier-than-Mao homilies! And yet, the same Obama who believes himself a bona fide World Spirit didn’t even have the moxies to plot a “Plan B”, just in case his initial imperial presidential plans were booted to the curb. Talk about a rank amateur!

It doesn’t help, of course, when you are the lex animata, ie the living lawgiver, of your cause. Obama is nothing less than the organic embodiment of his movement’s message, and everything he says is trenchant and terribly important. He’s like a postmodern Shakespeare holding court at, say—the local union hall or welfare office. This was wonderful, until screwups surfaced that even the Lame-Brained Media had to report on it. His advisers should have realized offering up Barack as the next paper mache Moses was not a good career move. There is nowhere to head but down from the mountaintop experience, while toting the Styrofoam “change mandate” tablets.

But the problem is much deeper than this. In essence, Obama’s struggle is he’s been shielded, protected, and treated like a prodigy for so long, he’s never had the opportunity to develop like a normal person. For example, how many reporters and networks chose to look the other way, whistling – when all of BO’s ultra-leftist, socialist, and communist pals came to light? Who else could have a BMF (Best Male Friend) who actually bombed US Government buildings, but never apologized or repented, yet still have the matter treated like a 2nd grade food-fight at Camp Lenin?!!

Actually, a “prodigy” in ancient Rome was not what we think of today – a wonderful young personality or incipient genius. Instead, their version was known as prodigium, meaning a “portent / monster, unnatural thing.” A freak whose sudden appearance meant the gods were furious. Doesn’t this intriguing contrast splendidly cover the gamut of the the current Obama v. USA conundrum? Acclaimed a young miracle worker of a politician who would overtake the modern world like a Caesar Augustus on a crack binge; instead, he turns out to be a terrifying monstrosity – a technology addicted, talking-point belching, socialist abomination—in a red spandex suit, candy apply cape, and Karl Marx mask with lettered back, reading “C-H-A-N-G-E!”

In Rome, the birth of something grotesque like a two-headed baby would send the hapless residents skittering into a frightened panic, wringing their hands over the portentous and menacing divine warning. But here, we’re stuck with Obama and Joe Biden sharing one-head, half a brain, and a smoking teleprompter while employing Cat-in-the-Hat styled alchemy, trying to coax Hope into Change. If they can only translate Das Kapital into the US Code, and therefore produce Department of Motor Vehicle level healthcare for all of us, they will retire happy. Not an easy task, friends!

He’s the original Robo-President; just add speaking skills, a big cheesy smile, and Communist Manifesto talking points

Barack is therefore like a test-tube conceived, laboratory-born running back who’s never faced a single tackler before being drafted #1 into the NFL. So his strength and speed have not once been challenged on a real field – let alone his brains, common sense, character or heart. In fact, one might consider BO the Todd Marinovich of world leaders. He’s the original Robo-President; just add speaking skills, a big cheesy smile and Communist Manifesto talking points.

And speaking of cheesy, with his prominent ears, he might resemble a giant socialist rodent, come to gnaw the parched trunk of capitalism down to its taproot. Or, in remembering our classical forebears, the Roman poet Horace may have had a Barack-type in mind when he wrote, “The hills churned and produced a leftist rat.” (ok, ok…technically, the translation is: “The mountains will be in labour; an absurd mouse will be born.” Ars Poetica. 139.)

It wouldn’t be easy growing up like a junior league Buddha, or a child incarnation of the dollar-store Dali Lama, and we should all be somewhat sympathetic of Obama’s hothouse background. Emphasis on “somewhat,” of course, given how dangerously out-of-touch Barack normally is with the world. Having BO at the grasp of the nuclear red-button is about as comforting as knowing the next room contains a colicky toddler in a crib full of live grenades. But fortunately, he considers himself an exemplar of pacifism; that is – when he’s not lying on his White House rotating oval bed, picking off cotton-tipped Muslim terrorists from his wide-screen TV with a remote-controlled, jacked-up glider, bearing heat-seeking missiles.

Obama doesn’t seem to get the whole political “big picture,” does he? He obviously wasn’t taking notes the day Aristotle was discussed, who defined politics as simply encouraging noble deeds which result in human happiness. But, if even a Rodney King can ask, “Can’t we all just get along?!!” – then what is BO’s problem? Maybe hanging out with just socialists, Marxists and free radicals while in college, as he bragged in one of his autobiographies—was not a fit training exercise for the leader of the democratic world?!!

And what is it with Barack and “medical reform,” anyway? Doesn’t he understand his approach to Obamacare is like living next-door to cult missionaries? There is never any compelling logic to his appeals, and apparently no end to the dreary sales-pitch either, even when the door is slamming in his face or after he claims he’d already given up. But now we are faced with government run healthcare ratified via date-rape, ie passed by the nonsensically named ‘reconciliation’ process.

Some astute commentators have asked if and when Obama will have his epiphany, his wakeup call, his Road to Damascus experience and realize his USA = USSR fantasies are just a cheap retrograde horror film. But, like the ambulatory walking-dead in Zombieland, this is about as likely to happen as for frozen baloney to evolve into prime rib; for MSNBC to start referring to Gov. Sarah Palin as “presidential” or for Rosie O’Donnell to offer to surrogate Ann Colter and Rush Limbaugh’s baby in her porcine uterus.

Obama is like some hideously unappealing holiday gift you anonymously receive, but can’t figure out from where it came to return it. So maybe we can just wrap him up in red plastic paper with a big “Green” bow for Christmas 2012 and send him to Russia to act as Putin’s second-banana-flunky—until the Russian neutron dwarf president is ready to retire? At least that is a game-plan for how to get rid of an unpleasant surprise gift, that continually emits a strange, ticking sound – with a smile on your face and a song in your heart! Either that, or back to the compost pile with the rest of the political effluent with former President Barack Obama!

False gods brew bitter tea (Obama vs. Tea Parties)

By Judi McLeod Monday, February 22, 2010

imageIf I were Obama, I would apply the same fate to the Tea Party Movement that I would to America: Take it down from within.

Knowing that the Tea Party organization is as diverse as the groups pushed by government, I would paint them with the same brush trying to portray them every one as redneck, anti-establishment, gun-toting right wingers.

Already knowing of their patriotic passion from flying over their 1.2-plus million, 9/12 turnout, I would go right on pretending not to have seen them. Were I Obama, I would celebrate faux leaders who sing the Tea Party a great wooing song but say little of substance.

I would hold fast to the pretense of not knowing that the words, “Hello my name is the Republican Party and I have a problem, I’m addicted to spending and big government,” were just the words written by a brilliant copywriter.

I would be most pleased with gatherings like CPAC, where only one year ago a talk show host with 25 years of experience under his belt was replaced by a Johnny-come-lately drafted in by FoxNews from CNN just a little over a year ago.

In fact Glenn Beck made the transition from CNN to Fox in October 2008, just weeks before Obama’s election.

Were I Obama I would recognize my TelePrompter in a chalkboard.

Were I Obama I would welcome the entry of a third party in time for the next elections. With both the Democrats and Republicans being the accursed, the Dems would slide up the middle in any electoral battle where there are close races between Dems and Repubs.

I would take heart to the third party theory in the straw vote overwhelmingly won by Ron Paul.

If I were Obama, I would use my lapdog mainstream media to tie every incident where innocent people are killed to the Tea Party Movement. If someone from FoxNews were to come along and make that tie rather than me, so much the better.

I would just love it and have secret giggle sessions with Michelle to hear network hosts railing daily about my misdeeds without ever coming up with any solutions for we the people.

But If I were Obama, the hair would be standing at the nape of my neck because Tea Party members are not so easily fooled by false gods.

I would worry that independence still counts in some quarters. That disappointment in false gods are making those members even more determined to bring back the Constitution.

If I were Obama I would worry that real life on the farm and in the city; real pain from job and home loss are far more meaningful and better teachers to the modern masses than the Marxist words in a little book by the long dead Saul Alinksy.

If I were Obama I wouldn’t yet celebrate the effect on the Tea Party Movement by false Fox gods Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly.

If I were Obama I would be starting to envision my empty world without the toy called “Amerika” because one false god is as doomed as the other.

Petraeus backs closing Guantanamo, limits on harsh interrogation

Army Gen. David Petraeus, the Pentagon's top commander of forces in Afghanistan and Iraq, said Sunday he still supports closing the prison camps at Guantanamo and is not troubled by President Barack Obama's inability to do so by a Jan. 22 deadline.

Petraeus, answering questions on NBC's "Meet the Press", also said he did not believe that the use of Bush-era harsh interrogation tactics on captives taken in the ongoing U.S. military offensive in Afghanistan against the Taliban would produce better intelligence.

Petraeus said his experience with the 82nd Airborne Division was that you stick with the U.S. Army Field Manual and rely on the Geneva Conventions in handling war prisoners both because it's the ethical thing to do and because the blowback from using other techniques serves as a recruiting tool for the enemy.

He called episodes of detainee abuse, such as those captured in soldiers' photos at Abu Ghraib in Iraq, "non-biodegradable," meaning they never go away.

Rather, he said he supported the systematic emptying of the prison camps at the U.S. Navy base in Guantanamo in a "pragmatic and sensible manner" -– while the United States decides where to send and how to hold the last prisoners there. As of Sunday, the Pentagon had 192 detainees at Guantanamo -– about a dozen of whom the Obama administration had concluded could face either military or civilian trials.

Petraeus had a hand in writing the Army Field Manual's doctrine for interrogation techniques, which he has said are "completely in line with the Geneva Conventions."

Note: It is the duty of Petraeus to follow the Commander-in-Chief i.e. Obama and therefore, he would not disagree with the closing of Gitmo. However, most patriots in America foresee great harm to our country by allowing Terrorists released into the civil courts, given attorneys and having their "rights" read to them during a time of war. America 'teetering toward tyranny' - DeMint

AMERICAN THINKER.COM

By:Troy Nelson

Talk about throwing a "reality" wet blanket on an Obama "I'm so hot" fire. Just two days ago President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were beating their chests about the impact of their jobs-not-lost Porkulus, uh, Stimulus Bill. Now, on the heels of this preening, Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) counters with this:

The Democrats' arrogance and audacious power-grabs have made Americans stand up and say, ‘Enough is enough. We now see all too clearly that the hope and change the Democrats had in mind was nothing more than a retread of the failed and discredited socialist policies that have been the enemy of freedom for centuries all over the world.

At a time when I fear America is teetering towards tyranny, I was thrilled to hear that CPAC adopted the theme of saving freedom for this year's meeting
.

These incisive words were delivered to a packed Conservative Political Action Conference audience on February 18th.

If by "teetering towards tyranny" Sen. DeMint means an Administration that speaks like thugs and street-brawlers, and has direct associations with like-kind, then he might be on to something.

Consider that when Town Hall meetings around the country were hot and heavy in August of ‘09 the "protectors" of Constitutionalism and the 1st Amendment rushed to defend President Obama's version of democracy and his policies. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi started the beat down with her "Patriot" stick: "They're un-American!" White House advisor David Axelrod hissed, "They're spreading lies and distortions," towards citizens exercising "freedom of association" and speech.

In a new twist government officials are calling its citizens "Nazis" rather than the reverse. Returning combat vets (aka "right-wing extremists") are discussed as potential "domestic terrorist threats" - in an "unofficial" pre-release. The President chides police authorities acting in a lawful manner as "stupid officers." He says to "punch back twice as hard" to critics, as if a street fighter. During a lap dog interview at the White House Obama, The Great Fly Hunter crows, "Pretty impressive. I got the sucker!". The subtle psychology of that reinforces the image of a callow man who enjoys bullying.

Back in the day when Teddy Roosevelt said to "speak softly and carry a big stick" he was referring to American government's protocols amongst foreign states -- not domestically. Apparently Barack missed that fine point... and the "speak softly" advice as well.

If by "tyranny" DeMint means an Administration that associates with "para-government" gangs such as ACORN nuts or SEIU jackboots that attend Town Halls to do a little hair-mussing then he's probably on to them.

Ask yourself: does Obama exhibit openness and temperance? Or does he strike you as a petulant bully? The rapid descent into coarse language and elevation of a Big Brother Government is all anyone, including Senator Demint, needs to witness to think "we're on the brink."

Obama wants to co-opt everything. Who knows? Maybe someone will even suggest a Communications or "Diversity" Czar. God save the Republic.

Democrat ObamaCare Death Plan, Public option, Obama’s health summit

By Sher Zieve Friday, February 19, 2010

The malevolent triumvirate of Obama, Pelosi and Reid continues to look under every possible rock in order to find ways to bypass, suppress and crush the will—if not the minds and bodies—of the American people. In fact, it appears to have become, if not their single-minded purpose, their overall obsession in life

What is it Luciferian and Obama mentor Saul Alinsky said in his anti-God and anti-human tome ‘Rules for Radicals’? In his Rule 9 “Keep Up the Pressure; Never Grow Complacent” Alinsky commands—amongst other things: “Whenever they seem to have figured out how best to counter something you’re doing, switch to something completely different. Never assume that if you keep doing the same thing you’ll get anywhere. Never assume that your opponents are feeling the sort of pressure you want them to feel.” That was written about us, folks. We-the-People are and have always been the enemies of totalitarian repressive governments. Then, in his Rule 12, Alinsky said: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” This is reminiscent of Obama’s, his media’s and Marxist US senators and representatives comments about the TEA Party movement, its members and any who question their Orwellian policies. And as Obama continues his lies, the smile of contempt for us all broadens on his face.

Alinsky goes on to say “In war the end justifies almost any means” and “The judgment of the ethics of means is dependent upon the political position of those sitting in judgment.” Remind you of anyone currently pretending to govern the country?

As an example of how these Alinsky-rules-for-destruction are currently being employed, one need only look to the resuscitated ramming—despite the now overwhelming number of US citizens who are against it—of the Democrat ObamaCare Death Plan down Americans’ throats or into any other available orifice. Pelosi, Reid and Obama have decided that they will pass ObamaCare and now plan to—again—add the government single payer (aka “public option”) scheme to destroy both insurance companies and the continued health of US citizens. Obama has also decided that he will use the gullible Republican leadership, yet again, to indulge himself in another preening moment before the cameras (Obama’s so-called “health summit”) under the guise of ‘transparency’ while the Dem Darkside continues to plot and conspire the passage of the draconian bill behind closed and locked doors.

With all that has been played out before our eyes, there are still less-than-lucid pundits who seem befuddled and continue to ask “What in the world is Obama doing?” These same pundits refuse to let go of the words “inexperienced” and “naïve” when referring to the tyrant. It appears that some of us were and are simply more perceptive than are the others. We saw and continue to see what he is really doing. Because the truth is—along with the members of the Marxist-Democrat Party—with his every word, action and breath Barack Hussein Obama is destroying this country. His totalitarian programs are openly meant to suppress, oppress, manipulate and control every aspect of each and every American citizen—then rob them of everything they own (this one is almost a fait accompli) so they cannot fight back with anything but rocks; if they’re lucky enough to have rocks.

Do not let up on the fight. We already know that the tyrant and his minions are bound and determined to either force us into submission or terminate our existence. However, not satisfied with destroying the American people and their country, The Obama is now bypassing the US Congress with greater and greater frequency. If we don’t get rid of these beings—and soon—we will be toast. Plan to turn out in record numbers for each and every election this year. It’s the only way we will be able to fight against the certain Obama voter intimidation, fraud and outright thuggery by his lackeys ACORN and the SEIU. Stay strong and focused. With God in the lead, let us pray for strength, remaining alert and determined and an overwhelming turn out of US citizen-voters save us from the ObamaPlanned devastation.

Obama Now Just Making Up Economic Theories To Justify Stimulus Success

Makeup

Obama's self-congratulatory back-patting from yesterday - which echoed Biden's much dumber Early Show smirking - assumes a lot of things. One of the things it assumes is that the multiplier for government spending is above two:

Did the stimulus help? Sure. But Recovery.gov currently has a nifty graphic showing that of ARRA's $787 billion in budget authority, the government has currently disbursed about $287 billion. You'd have to posit some really remarkable multipliers for the stimulus to think that this prevented us from sliding into the Great Depression. For comparison's sake, in 1930, GDP fell by 8.6% in real terms. In 2009, the BEA says that it fell about 2.4%, or about $300 billion. Had it fallen by anything close to 8%, that would have meant a decline of roughly a trillion dollars. So the administration is claiming that by spending less than $300 billion, it managed to prevent more than $700 billion in economic decline--in other words, that the multiplier for their spending was higher than two. They're saying that every dollar they spent increased GDP by more than $2.

Unsurprisingly, the multiplier is not above 2. Per CBO projections it's actually much lower than 2. And the CBO assumed that funds were being allocated efficiently, not getting bottled up by state-level Transportation Departments or channeled into signs touting the government's awesomeness.

Still, it's good to see that the WH resolved that little internal disagreement they were having about stimulus numbers. Trotting out three different advisers with three different estimates on the same morning - that was just too reminiscent of Obama's knowledge-challenged Afghanistan dithering. It was distracting from all those places where the President was just outright lying.

Like his smug statement about how "every economist from the left and right" agreed that the stimulus created or saved two million jobs. That was a pretty brazen lie.

Seriously. Some of his statements can be explained by simple narcissism. I'm assuming that's his "century of law" Supreme Court attack got into the SOTU because he wanted it to be true, regardless of what even HuffPo acknowledges. Ditto for his declaration that stimulus funds would create Caterpillar jobs, even though Caterpillar's CEO said the opposite. In both cases you can see kind of sort of see how the thinking went: "my theories about the world are super-keen, they say stimulus funds create jobs and campaign funding limits are Constitutional, ergo..."

But he can't really believe that every rightist economist credits the stimulus with two million jobs, right? I mean, not if he has even a basic sense of reality. Right?

Debunking Liberal Excuses

Real Clear Politics.com

By Charles Krauthammer

WASHINGTON -- In the latter days of the Carter presidency, it became fashionable to say that the office had become unmanageable and was simply too big for one man. Some suggested a single, six-year presidential term. The president's own White House counsel suggested abolishing the separation of powers and going to a more parliamentary system of unitary executive control. America had become ungovernable.

Then came Ronald Reagan, and all that chatter disappeared.

The tyranny of entitlements? Reagan collaborated with Tip O'Neill, the legendary Democratic House speaker, to establish the Alan Greenspan commission that kept Social Security solvent for a quarter-century.

A corrupted system of taxation? Reagan worked with liberal Democrat Bill Bradley to craft a legislative miracle: tax reform that eliminated dozens of loopholes and slashed rates across the board -- and fueled two decades of economic growth.

Later, a highly skilled Democratic president, Bill Clinton, successfully tackled another supposedly intractable problem: the culture of intergenerational dependency. He collaborated with another House speaker, Newt Gingrich, to produce the single most successful social reform of our time, the abolition of welfare as an entitlement.

It turned out that the country's problems were not problems of structure but of leadership. Reagan and Clinton had it. Carter didn't. Under a president with extensive executive experience, good political skills and an ideological compass in tune with the public, the country was indeed governable.

It's 2010 and the first-year agenda of a popular and promising young president has gone down in flames. Barack Obama's two signature initiatives -- cap-and-trade and health care reform -- lie in ruins.

Desperate to explain away this scandalous state of affairs, liberal apologists haul out the old reliable from the Carter years: "America the Ungovernable." So declared Newsweek. "Is America Ungovernable?" coyly asked The New Republic. Guess the answer.

The rage at the machine has produced the usual litany of systemic explanations. Special interests are too powerful. The Senate filibuster stymies social progress. A burdensome constitutional order prevents innovation. If only we could be more like China, pines Tom Friedman, waxing poetic about the efficiency of the Chinese authoritarian model, while America flails about under its "two parties ... with their duel-to-the-death paralysis." The better thinkers, bewildered and furious that their president has not gotten his way, have developed a sudden disdain for our inherently incremental constitutional system.

Yet, what's new about any of these supposedly ruinous structural impediments? Special interests blocking policy changes? They have been around since the beginning of the republic -- and since the beginning of the republic, strong presidents, like the two Roosevelts, have rallied the citizenry and overcome them.

And then, of course, there's the filibuster, the newest liberal bete noire. "Don't blame Mr. Obama," writes Paul Krugman of the president's failures. "Blame our political culture instead. ... And blame the filibuster, under which 41 senators can make the country ungovernable."

Ungovernable, once again. Of course, just yesterday the same Paul Krugman was warning about "extremists" trying "to eliminate the filibuster" when Democrats used it systematically to block one Bush (43) judicial nomination after another. Back then, Democrats touted it as an indispensable check on overweening majority power. Well, it still is. Indeed, the Senate with its ponderous procedures and decentralized structure is serving precisely the function the Founders intended: as a brake on the passions of the House and a caution about precipitous transformative change.

Leave it to Mickey Kaus, a principled liberal who supports health care reform, to debunk these structural excuses: "Lots of intellectual effort now seems to be going into explaining Obama's (possible/likely/impending) health care failure as the inevitable product of larger historic and constitutional forces. ... But in this case there's a simpler explanation: Barack Obama's job was to sell a health care reform plan to American voters. He failed."

He failed because the utter implausibility of its central promise -- expanded coverage at lower cost -- led voters to conclude that it would lead ultimately to more government, more taxes and more debt. More broadly, the Democrats failed because, thinking the economic emergency would give them the political mandate and legislative window, they tried to impose a left-wing agenda on a center-right country. The people said no, expressing themselves first in spontaneous demonstrations, then in public opinion polls, then in elections -- Virginia, New Jersey and, most emphatically, Massachusetts.

That's not a structural defect. That's a textbook demonstration of popular will expressing itself -- despite the special interests -- through the existing structures. In other words, the system worked.

Obama Keeps All-Democratic Health Care Option Open

Newsmax.com

The White House signaled Thursday that an aggressive, all-Democratic strategy for overhauling the nation's health care system remains a serious option, even as President Barack Obama invites Republicans to next week's televised summit to seek possible compromises.

The administration's stance could set the stage for a political showdown, with Democrats struggling to enact the president's top domestic priority and Republicans trying to block what many conservatives see as government overreach.

A senior administration official said Democratic congressional leaders have nearly finished efforts to reconcile two health bills, which the House and Senate passed separately last year with practically no Republican help. Obama will use their legislation to expand coverage to some 30 million and require most Americans to carry insurance as the basis for a proposal that the White House will post online by Monday, three days before the Feb. 25 summit, said the official.

He spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private negotiations.

Obama says he is open to Republican ideas for changing the health care system. But many Democrats seriously doubt GOP leaders will support compromises that could draw enough lawmakers from both parties to create a bipartisan majority.

If next week's meeting does not break the logjam, congressional Democrats will face a tough choice. They can pass a highly diluted health care bill or nothing at all, which would send them into the November elections with a high-profile failure despite their control of Congress and the White House.

Or they can use an assertive and contentious tactic, known as reconciliation, to pass a far-reaching health care bill in the Senate without having to face GOP delaying tactics. Democrats lost their ability to block filibusters when Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown won a Senate seat last month.

Both parties have used reconciliation rules in the past. But Republicans have practically dared Democrats to do so on health care, citing polls showing significant opposition to the legislation.

It's unclear whether the House or Senate can muster the necessary votes. Democrats, who now hold 255 of the House's 435 seats, drew only one GOP ally when the House passed its health care bill, 220-215, last November. Since then, one Democrat who voted for the bill has resigned, one has died and a third plans to leave office Feb. 28. Moreover, changes meant to meet Senate demands could peel away enough liberals on one end, and party centrists on the other, to cause the revised bill to fail.

In the Senate, Democrats control 59 seats, and reconciliation rules require only a simple majority. But several Democratic senators have expressed discomfort or outright opposition to using the rules to thwart filibusters on health care.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Thursday that Obama plans to have a health care proposal that "will take some of the best ideas and put them into a framework" ahead of the Feb. 25 summit. The White House has invited Republicans to bring their own proposals, but GOP leaders have treated the event warily at best.

House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio said Thursday, "a productive, bipartisan conversation on health care starts with a clean sheet of paper." His office labeled next week's meeting the "summit of all fears."

But at least one moderate Republican was optimistic about the session.

Sen. Susan Collins of Maine said if the summit succeeds, a bipartisan bill could be put together and passed within six weeks. "My advice to our Republican leadership is we should view this as a good faith effort and go in there with a consensus list of provisions that we could support and that would make a difference," she said in an interview with The Associated Press.

House Democrats are insisting on several changes to the bill the Senate passed on Christmas Eve, before Brown was elected to succeed the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. The changes include reducing or eliminating a proposed tax on generous employer-provider health plans, and eliminating a Medicaid subsidy aimed only at Nebraska.

Also, some House Democrats who oppose legalized abortion are demanding that the Senate's more permissive language on the topic be replaced by the House provisions. It was unclear Thursday how that might be achieved.

The cost of the legislation — about $1 trillion over 10 years — would be paid for through Medicare cuts and a series of tax increases. House officials said Democratic leaders are not yet pressing wary colleagues to back a health care bill under the special procedural rules. That could happen soon, however, if next week's summit fails to produce a bipartisan breakthrough.

House congressional aides said they expect leaders such as Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to tell colleagues that using all their parliamentary muscle to pass a health care bill — even if it triggers withering criticism from the right — is preferable to facing voters empty-handed this fall.

Conservatives Pack Largest-Ever CPAC

Newsmax

By: Ronald Kessler

This time last year, pundits were predicting the end of conservatism and the Republican Party.

So-called conservative columnists like David Frum, formerly of National Review, and David Brooks of The New York Times were warning conservatives that something was wrong with their beliefs.

But Dave Keene, chairman of the American Conservative Union, was predicting that President Obama would overreach and help Republicans return to power.

As the elections in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey demonstrated, Keene was dead on.

This week, Keene presides over the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where a 28 percent increase in registrations over last year underscores his optimism. With more than 10,000 conservative activists attending this year, CPAC has moved to Washington’s Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, where the ballroom holds 2 1/2 times more people than at the previous location.

Besides speeches by the likes of Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio, Newt Gingrich, Glenn Beck, Michele Bachmann, Liz Cheney, and George Will, CPAC features panels focusing on issues, workshops on campaign techniques, booths run by 96 co-sponsors, and receptions and dinners.

“The difference between this year and previous years is that we really are in the midst of a revitalization of commitment to conservative ideals at the grass roots,” Keene tells Newsmax. “The town-hall meetings, the tea parties, the sort of unwillingness of conservatives at the local level to be directed by establishment politicians and establishment parties, while being dedicated to the very values that national conservatives have been arguing for years, is really a rebirth of the conservative movement.”

In contrast, “All you have to do is think back a year or so, when Barack Obama and the Democrats and the liberals were riding high and we were told that the days of conservative ascendancy had ended, that the conservative philosophy was no longer saleable,” Keene says. “Even some within our own midst were saying that this dedication to limited government just wouldn’t sell in the modern world, that we needed to abandon those kinds of things and get with the program.”

Now, Keene says, “It is precisely those traditional values, that traditional view that individuals rather than the state ought to be making decisions, that has revitalized the movement all the way down to every locality that you can imagine. And that is now flowing in and strengthening the movement nationally as well.”

Looking back, Keene says he underestimated just how much Obama would overreach.

In Keene’s view, Obama “really does seem to believe that the American people really want him to do what he wants to do. And to the extent that they don’t get lined up behind him, it’s either a result of some conspiracy from the right or the influence of cable news and talking heads, or it’s because for some reason the public isn’t smart enough to absorb what he really wants to do for them.”

As it turns out, Obama “misread the public,” Keene says. “In a democratic system, if you misread the public and you try to take people out into a direction they don’t want to go, and you push it enough, you’re going to get just the kind of push-back that Obama’s gotten. And that push-back may not only spell troubled days for him, but it could doom his party in the next election.”

The public’s growing disenchantment with Obama has helped spawn the tea party movement, which strengthens this revitalization of the conservative movement, Keene says.

“You’ve got a boiling ferment at the local level as people who’ve never been involved in politics before are saying, We’re scared,” Keene observes. "They say the country’s off track, something needs to be done, the government’s spending too much money, nobody’s listening to us. And they have become a movement on their own.”

As a result, “We’ve got a spontaneity that is most probably reminiscent of the way the movement developed in the late ’60s and early ’70s before the national victories that began the centralization of the movement in Washington,” Keene says.

While Sarah Palin has positioned herself as a spokesperson for grass-roots activists, she has so far declined to speak at CPAC.

“We’ve invited her, and she’s been unable to make it for the last three years,” Keene says. “She said last year she was going to make it and then wasn’t able to. This year she’s been on her book tour, and she’s got other things, and she did the so-called tea party convention, and I don’t know what she’s doing right now. But we’re hoping that she’ll be with us next time.”

As in the past, the ACU’s foundation, which actually runs CPAC, has priced tickets so students can buy them.

“The first CPAC was held in 1973,” Keene says. “It had about 125 people attending, and Ronald Reagan was the speaker.”

Reagan proved to be a loyal fan of CPAC, speaking at 17 of them. At one of the dinners, the president mentioned to Keene that he could talk to rich people and establishment Republicans any time.

“But,” Reagan said, “this is the only place that I can come to and talk to the people that got me to where I am today, the people who make up this movement. It’s the only place where they get together annually. It’s the only place they can afford to attend, because they’re not the rich people, they’re not the grandees.”

Reagan asked Keene to promise that he will never change CPAC so that it becomes impossible for those people to come.

“Keep the price low, make sure that you’re bringing in new people, and keep CPAC what it’s become and what it ought to always be,” Reagan said.
Given that half the attendees this year will be college students, CPAC has remained true to that request.

Washington Rashad Hussain Coverup?

Human Events.com
by Robert Spencer

Who is covering for Rashad Hussain?
Last Saturday, in a video message to the U.S.-Islamic World Forum in Qatar, Barack Obama appointed Rashad Hussain to be his administration’s special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). Rashad Hussain several years ago defended a leader of a jihad terrorist group -- and now the record of his doing so has been deep-sixed.

Journalist Patrick Goodenough of CNS News has discovered that in 2004 Hussain denounced the prosecution of University of South Florida professor Sami al-Arian as a “politically motivated persecution” designed “to squash dissent.”

To be sure, this was a widespread view among liberals at the time. Al-Arian himself pushed all the right Leftist buttons: “I’m a minority. I’m an Arab, I’m Palestinian. I’m a Muslim. That’s not a popular thing to be these days. Do I have rights, or don’t I have rights?” The American Association of University Professors defended Al-Arian, as did The Chronicle of Higher Education, which published a cover story called “Blaming the Victim?” and featuring a photo of Al-Arian. In March 2002 Nicholas Kristof went to bat for the professor in the New York Times: “The point is not whether one agrees with Professor Al-Arian, a rumpled academic with a salt-and-pepper beard who is harshly critical of Israel (and also of repressive Arab countries) — but who also denounces terrorism, promotes inter-faith services with Jews and Christians, and led students at his Islamic school to a memorial service after 9/11 where they all sang ‘God Bless America.’ No, the larger point is that a university, even a country, becomes sterile when people are too intimidated to say things out of the mainstream.”

Phil Donahue fawned over Al-Arian on his show. “So, one more time, sir,” he said to the professor, “and I know that you’re probably getting tired of these same questions --‘death to Israel’ did not mean you wanted to kill Jews, do I understand your position?” After Al-Arian assured him of his pacifistic intentions, Phil went on to allege that “the law of innocent until proven guilty doesn’t seem to exist for Professor Sami Al-Arian.”

All of Al-Arian’s defenders had egg on their faces when Al-Arian pled guilty to charges involving his acting as a leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a deadly terrorist group that has employed suicide bombings and other terror tactics to murder over one hundred Israelis.
And among the egged faces was Rashad Hussain, apparently. Goodenough reports that Hussain’s remarks defending Al-Arian appeared in the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs in 2004. But now the Washington Report’s website carries a version of this article from the passage referring to Rashad Hussain has been removed. Nothing else in the article has been changed.

Was this bowdlerization done by someone at the Washington Report acting on his own discretion, or is the Obama camp involved? Is someone in the Administration aware of the political fallout that could result from the news that Obama is sending a man who spoke up on behalf of a convicted jihad terrorist as his envoy to the leading Muslim organization in the world? Did they perform or ask to be performed a bit of Orwellian image enhancement on Rashad Hussain?

Even aside from this there was enough disquieting about the appointment. In a 2007 article Hussain criticized focusing on Muslims in anti-terror efforts: “Federal law should adopt a standard that protects national security while forbidding the targeting of non-citizens solely on the basis of their racial, religious, or ethnic backgrounds.” When the overwhelming majority of terror attacks are committed by young Muslim males acting in the name of Islamic teachings, this is just a call for the waste of resources.

And then there is the idea of sending an envoy to the OIC in the first place. This 57-government Islamic bloc, the largest voting bloc in the UN today, is waging an international campaign against the freedom of speech, trying to pressure the West into passing laws criminalizing criticism of Islam – including counterterror investigations of the motives and goals of jihad terrorists. Is this really an organization to which Obama is well-advised to reach out?

Mr. Spencer is director of Jihad Watch and author of "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)", "The Truth About Muhammad," "Stealth Jihad," and most recently "The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran" (all from Regnery -- a HUMAN EVENTS sister company).

Obama Believes He Has the Secret Blueprint to the Universe

Obama must be reading from a separate sheet of music from the rest of America

By Kelly O'Connell Sunday, February 14, 2010

There must be a simple explanation for President Obama’s stubborn refusal to admit mistakes or change his failed far-left policies. Perhaps Barack stumbled upon a secret blueprint to the cosmos which guides his every decision, fallen from the lap of the gods? This could explain making many disastrous choices, yet still carrying on happily in the midst of relentless failure

Yet, with so many disastrous policies imploding all around, what other reason could there be for his upbeat and sanguine attitude? How else can one explain his utter mishaps, boondoggles and catastrophes against his fulsome self-satisfaction? Or, why the epic refusal to try new strategies when it’s clear his economic ideas are failing worse than cold-fusion?

So, Obama must be reading from a separate sheet of music from the rest of America. And this has undoubtedly immunized him from reacting badly to his unprecedented collapse in popularity. But could Obama be right, and everyone else wrong when it comes to economics? According to Wittgenstein’s “Private Language” rule, the answer is a resounding, “No!”

I. Is Keynes or Wittgenstein the Answer?

Keynes: In a nutshell, what Obama did his first year was rampantly spend taxpayer money to “solve” our financial woes by staggering government investment. Pointedly, Barack is spending borrowed money, to be repaid later, to solve current problems. This controversial fiscal policy is called “Keynesian Economics.” This strategy has several transparent dangers. First, very large deficits can be quickly built upon borrowed sums, which must be paid back with interest. Second, there is a keen possibility government spending, using tax dollars, is not an efficient way to build an economy. If the latter is true, huge deficits will be amassed which would not even achieve any meaningful sustained growth. So future generations would be saddled with the triple tragedy of having massive debts to repay, which originally achieved no economic good, but now which have to be repaid with interest, from a diminished economy. But the question remains, what if Keynesian Economics doesn’t work?!! Hunter Lewis’ book, “Where Keynes Went Wrong” goes into great detail explaining why it does not.

Wittgenstein: The conundrum here is this: Obama argues that he and his economic advisors are so wise and far-sighted, that decisions made today which might seem reckless or even nonsensical, like wildly spending future sums on mostly forgettable programs, are actually astute fiscal policy in the longterm. But does this argument make sense? Actually, no – for reasons outlined by the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, in his famous “Private Language” analysis in the book Philosophical Investigations. The summary of his argument, as applied here to Obamanomics, is that a decision which seems stupid cannot be claimed “wise” simply because the decision-maker pretends he has secret, or even mystical “messianic” knowledge that the average person cannot understand.

More specifically, the “Private Language” argument offers a fairly straightforward standard. Wittgenstein asks whether there could be a “Private Language” owned by only a single person? He answers that this is impossible. Why? For the same reason no single person can own a “fact” knowable only to himself. In other words, language only makes sense when it is communicated to another person. Likewise, we cannot call something a “fact” which cannot be coherently communicated or proved to other people.

In the present case, there is no such thing as a successful economic fact, known secretly only to Barack Obama, but which still should be used by the US government for public policy. If Barack has a good economic idea that costs a trillion dollars, it should be brought out and exhaustively debated, not simply whisked through Congress in a few days. And if the idea is sound, it will thrive in a sunlight examination. But as happened, the last Stimulus was passed almost without debate on the theory the “Next Great Depression” would result if the bill wasn’t instantly approved. But how can we even be sure a collapse was imminent?

Barack has a Private Language problem with his Obamanomics, in that he promises his ideas will work, despite any evidence to the contrary – regardless of how illogical the ideas seem, how contrary the math turns out to be, or despite how contradictory the current outcome is. Barack blankly claims we must just put our faith in him because of his profound economic knowledge. But isn’t it possible Obama has already made a terrible decision to waste nearly a trillion dollars on a Stimulus Bill that did not keep unemployment from topping 8%, as promised? Further, claiming jobs were created or “saved” by the Bill, despite hard evidence that eight million folks have lost their job during Obama’s tenure, seems sheer sophistry.

Critics have further pointed out the Stimulus Bill was not built for stimulus, to begin with. Instead, borrowed money will be spent for years, which was not the immediate jolt of adrenaline most assumed would occur when it was passed. But these facts certainly help explain why unemployment has hovered near 10% for months, as total unemployment – by every category – is now supposedly 17%. Yet the administration has talked about another “stimulus” or “jobs” bill that would cost hundreds of billions more.

Yet, critics now insist the entire train wreck of “stimulus bills” which are mostly local congressional pork projects, should be immediately stopped as they do not work in building an economy, even in the short term. And these experts point to the current lack of results as proof positive of their assertions. But assuming that Obama’s team really is the cream of the crop, and they do know what they are doing, then why are they breaking their necks to spend as much money as quickly as possible? For to add up Obama’s fiscal damage, to the stimulus Bill we must add the TARP bank-bailout, the Detroit car maker investment, all Wall Street and investment banking bailouts, etc., which total in the trillions and cannot be repaid soon in any reasonable scenario. So, in other words, is Obama doing grave damage to the US economy on purpose?

Marx; Cloward-Piven; & Economic Sabotage

MARX: We must now ask why Obama would want to purposely damage the US economy, if his depredations are not accidental? The answer could quite simply be that Barack Obama is a genuine communist. In fact, most of his family were either sympathetic to socialism or Marxism, including both fathers, his mother, his grandparents, a childhood mentor Mr. Davis, his friends Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, his pastor of two decades Rev. Wright, and even members of his White House team, like Van Jones. So, since water seeks its own level, the idea of Obama actually carrying Marxist values inside his heart would hardly seem shocking, given his background.

Now, if Barack is a closet Marxist, then his beliefs teach him that free market capitalism is a bad thing and it hurts people. So, destroying our capitalist economy would result in liberation of many American people, since capitalism is an unfair and wicked economic system. In other words, since Marxists hate capitalism because they believe it is evil, to destroy capitalism helps people who are slaves in that type economy. Karl Marx once wrote, “Capital is dead labor, which, vampire-like, lives only by sucking living labor, and lives the more, the more labor it sucks.”

Marxists believe that there are two types of people – the poor and the rich; or the oppressed and oppressors; ie, the master and slaves. Marx also said, “Capital is reckless of the health or length of life of the laborer, unless under compulsion from society.” What Marx wanted was a revolution liberating downtrodden workers creating a society without envy, or greed, or war. He said, “Let the ruling classes tremble at a communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workingmen of all countries, unite!” This would be achieved when pure communism was instituted, which would occur automatically, someday. Marx stated, “The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property.”

Marxists are opposed to capitalism as it equals economic slavery for the masses. Marx taught a natural progression would sweep mankind towards paradise on earth, by going first from capitalism, then to socialism, and finally to communism, the latter being a state where people own no property. He also said, “Democracy is the road to socialism.” Marx again wrote, “The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.”

To be a Marxist means a person is committed to just a few things. First, a revolution needs to occur overthrowing the tyranny of capitalist slavery. Then socialism is established, which finally morphs to communism. Yet, these things cannot happen until the foundation of a capitalist economy is ruptured. And such a break might occur in many ways – through war, revolution, propaganda, intrigue or even internal sabotage.

Cloward-Piven: After the failure of capitalist societies to spontaneously opt for socialism or communism, Marxists were left for decades to ponder a way to reach heaven on earth without self-induced worker revolt. In the 1960’s, two Columbia University professors developed a theory on how a healthy democratic economy might be pushed towards insolvency. This is described by the Internet site Discover the Networks: “...the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.”

What is occurring now in Washington DC, with rampant spending and recklessly designed projects, could be called part of a Cloward-Piven strategy to undermine the US. Certainly, this is the effect it is having, regardless of its intent. But this is hardly relevant when one realizes that Marxism has always been dependent upon some hardy souls taking risks to attack an economy and help sabotage it to make ready for the next phase of the worker revolution.

Marxist Sabotage: Several books have pointed out some of the classic modes of sabotage that Marxists have employed over the years. In the first place, Marxist communist doctrine calls out all workers to revolt, according to a book by the Committee on Un-American Activities, US House of Representatives, called “Facts on Communism, Vol. I – The Communist ideology.” The logic here includes the declaration that since capitalism is rooted in evil, any manner of fighting this enslaver of mankind is ethical – including armed revolt, lying, cheating, stealing and killing. So a true communist is not going to be held back by “bourgeoisie” middle-class morality from fighting the good fight. But sabotage could occur through union subterfuge, strikes in various sectors, military and governmental espionage, physical assaults upon infrastructure, voter or political deceit, propaganda campaigns, infiltration of schools, entertainment or media, etc. (see addendum, below)

The call to Revolution is the most hallowed of all communist ideals, and must come before all other concerns. So one can see the Marxist paradigm as one of unmitigated sacrifice to the cause of revolutionary activities. The House book states that the “Socialist Revolution” will call all the enlightened, saying “...it appeals to men to devote their lives to the cause of the Socialist Revolution, regardless of whether or not that revolution would satisfy their needs or improve their condition.” One can see here the strong evangelical element of Marxist revolutionary propaganda, which was actually borrowed from the Bible. In terms of ethics, only the revolution matters, and all men will be judged by this yardstick.

Clarence B. Carson’s fine book, “Basic Communism: It’s Rise, Spread and Debacle in the 20th Century” spells out the various aspects of modern Marxist sabotage. Carson writes, “It has become sufficiently clear since the 1950’s…that Communists are extensively engaged in what can be best understood as sabotage in the United States as well as other lands.” Carson goes on to describe how a majority of the 500 Soviet “journalists” working abroad were actually agents devoted to propaganda and how the world media was sometimes either fooled, seduced or even bribed into touting their claims. Sometimes obscure foreign papers were used to plant stories back in the States. For example, the Ethiopian Herald was employed to help salt faked stories about how the CIA was poisoning Cuban crops by sending viruses into its plant and animal stock. Today, who can argue that the Western media is now largely leftist after decades of Marxism dominating academia in the guise of Political Correctness? This PC movement is nothing less than Marxism translated into social doctrines meant to undermine the traditional societies of the West.

Sometimes secret agents have insinuated themselves into foreign governments and wreaked havoc as spies. But the biggest fear for many is that highly placed Americans of communist sympathy will run amok within the halls of power. Such a case occurred with Alger Hiss, who – much like Barack Obama – graduated with distinction from Harvard law school and began working for the US government. He was later famously outed as a communist mole by Whitaker Chambers and sentenced to prison. But many have asked – What if a communist rose so high in the US government he could not be detected or stopped from rampaging before great damage was done?

III. Conclusion

It cannot be doubted that Barack Obama is already on the verge of historic failure as an economic planner, given his epic deficits which could easily lead to US loan defaults and insolvency. Yet the real shocker is how the borrowed money is simply being completely wasted while the private sector and especially small businesses are dying on the vine as loans are no longer easily procured. The clear question is – could this possibly be accidental?

Obama is certainly far left in his policies. And following the careers of the great Marxist leaders, whether Lenin, Stalin or Mao, reveals them all to have been furiously arrogant and utterly misinformed upon economics, and their stupid mistakes lead to the deaths of tens of millions. Perhaps this is inevitable, given Marxism’s utter contempt for the details of capitalism. But the question remains – is Obama simply a misinformed, yet well-meaning economic misfit; or is he intent on crashing American capitalism to implement the huge changes he ominously promised during his campaign?

Barack’s relentless confidence might not be so much from his belief that his atomic Keynesian routine will work. Instead, it just might be because he knows it will fail spectacularly. And if it does, Obama will be in a great position to implement socialism or Marxism to “save” America from its evil Capitalist soul.

ADDENDUM: This list of 45 communist goals will well-illustrate what strategies communists have used to try to undermine America. It was taken from Cleon Skousen’s 1958 book “The Naked Communist”, and posted in the US House Congressional record in 1963:

The Communist Takeover Of America - 45 Declared Goals

Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record—Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963
Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 .
Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman’s request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following “Current Communist Goals,” which she identifies as an excerpt from “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen:
[From “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen]
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture—education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [”]united force[”] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.
