BREAKING: Yemen says it has killed al-Qaida terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki

SANAA - Yemeni forces have killed Anwar al-Awlaki, a US-born Muslim preacher linked to al-Qaida's Yemen-based wing, the country's Defense Ministry said on Friday.
"The terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki has been killed along with some of his companions," it said in a statement sent by text message to journalists.

Awlaki had been implicated in a botched attempt to bomb a US-bound plane in 2009.

Note:
Americans are waking up this morning to news that the Number One terrorist listed on the FBI "most wanted" has been killed.  Details are still surfacing.  Both the U.S. and Yemen claim to have been the ones who located and killed al-Awlaki (possibly by the use of a drone).  al-Awlaki is responsible for the Ft. Hood killer; the underwear bomber; and possibly the NYC attempted bombing and is known as the "Terrorist of the Internet" - as he has used the Web to persuade many to join al-Qaeda's on-going list of dangerous criminal Islamic terrorists.
