Obama Administration Warns Against Even Symbolically Recognizing Jerusalem as Capital of Israel

Sometime around 10:15 on the morning of June 7, 1967…
The first reservist paratroopers of Brigade 55 broke through the Lion’s Gate leading into the Old City of Jerusalem and reached the narrow enclave of the Western Wall. Having just fought a fierce two-day battle in the streets of east Jerusalem, they grieved for lost friends, and grieved as well for their own lost innocence in what for many was their first experience of combat. They leaned against the Wall, some in exhaustion, some in prayer. Several wept, instinctively connecting to the Wall’s tradition of mourning the destruction of the Temple and the loss of Jewish sovereignty—precisely at the moment when Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem had been restored.

Several hours later, Yitzhak Yifat, a twenty-four-year-old reservist about to begin medical school, reached the Wall. As part of the brigade’s 66th Battalion, he and his friends had fought in the Six Day War’s toughest battle: Intimate combat against elite Jordanian Legionnaires in the trenches of Ammunition Hill, on the road to Mount Scopus.

Today Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in a sharp departure from her stance when she was a senator, warned that any American action, toward recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel must be avoided for the reason that it would jeopardize the so-called peace process.
The NY Sun reported:

Secretary of State Clinton, in a sharp departure from her stance when she was a senator, is warning that any American action, even symbolically, toward recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel must be avoided for the reason that it would jeopardize the peace process.

Her warnings were issued in a brief she has just filed with the Supreme Court — in which she is arguing that a law she voted for when she was Senator is unconstitutional because it could require the U.S. government to give to an American citizen born at Jerusalem papers showing the birthplace as Israel.

The law requiring the government to issue such documents on request passed the Senate unanimously at a time when Mrs. Clinton was a member. But Presidents Bush and Obama have taken the position that the law infringes on the president’s prerogatives in respect of foreign policy. Mrs. Clinton is being sued by an American youngster, Menachem Zivotofsky, who was born at Jerusalem in 2002 to American parents who want his birthplace to be listed on his passport as Israel.

In addition to citing the peace process as the excuse for not issuing the birth document the Congress wants issued, Mrs. Clinton’s brief adds a new twist to the story of the White House photos first disclosed last month by the New York Sun. The story involved the discovery that even while the White House was fretting over the requirement to list Jerusalem, Israel, as Master Zivotofsky’s birthplace, the White House’s own website was featuring a series of pictures from Vice President Biden’s 2010 trip to the Jewish state and identifying the pictures as showing him at “Jerusalem, Israel.”

According to the latest polls, Obama's ratings/popularity is sinking "fast and furious"!  Within the Democratic Party, some Democrats are suggesting that perhaps Hillary Clinton should be the choice instead of Obama for the 2012 elections.  I've said all along that Clinton is no better than her "boss" and  that list continues to grow daily.  This issue is another of a long list demonstrating another betrayal of Israel.

What happened to "no pre-conditions" between Abbas/Fatah and Israel to begin peace talks?  The Obama administration aids the Palestinian Authority in its quest to ignore Israel's concerns, as this Administration is all to happy to add to the PA's catalog of complaints.  We haven't even begun to mention the fact that Israel has stated "If the PA's embrace Hamas, there can be no peace talks" - period! Supporters of Israel ask daily, "How can Israel be expected to hold "peace" talks while the PA's are uniting with Hamas Palestinians, a known terrorist organization?"

One Israeli sent me a message, asking "Who are these people (Palestinians)?"  He goes further, by stating:  "Three rockets were fired(for 27/09). The firing of rockets on Israel resumes. No one is hurt. (The ink in newspapers, on the subject of state for two peoples, not dry and they are firing rockets. For some people, the world speaks and the concensus is "give them a state".  Does the world understand who these people are!? .... It is hard to understand what it profits these people - firing missiles on Israeli citizens now. Will the UN give an excuse? Is this the correct method, to fire missiles and then go ask for a state? The world is turned upside down ... it My personal opinion.)"


He is correct in saying "the world is upside down!"  The evil performed daily by terrorists upon the innocent citizens of Israel is ignored by both the media and world leaders - all pushing Israel's back to the wall in its lust to grab "land for peace" when there is no peace, nor will there ever be peace, as long as Israel's neighbors insist on firing rockets, murdering and kidnapping Israelis.  The ill-behaved terrorist actions of the Palestinian must be stopped BEFORE any discussion can be held that would lead to a lasting peace.


Clinton's denial that Jerusalem is most certainly the Capital of Israel and a part of Israel is the same propaganda given by the Arab Palestinians and no matter how often the lies are repeated, it does not turn the lies into truth.  And what nation on earth has the right to determine another nation's "Capital"?  If we say Washington, DC is not the Capital of the USA, does that make it true?
