Once again our imperial president His Lord and Highness Barack Obama has taken it upon himself as head of the executive branch to decide which of the laws of our nation he will and will not execute. He has now decided to cancel the deportation of illegal aliens if they meet certain “criteria.”From the Washington Times:
The Homeland Security Department said Thursday it will halt deportation proceedings on a case-by-case basis against illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria such as attending school, having family in the military or are primarily responsible for other family members’ care.The move, announced in letters to Congress, comes after Hispanic activists and Democrats had urged President Obama to exempt broad swaths of illegal immigrants from deportation while Congress wrestles with the issue.Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said her department and the Justice Department will review all ongoing cases and see who meets the new criteria on a case-by-case basis.
Sorry, “attending school” doesn’t cut it to get you out of criminal charges and punishment for any other crime. Sorry, “having family in the military” doesn’t cut it to get you out of criminal charges and punishment for any other crime. Sorry, being “primarily responsible for other family members’ care” doesn’t cut it to get you out of criminal charges and punishment for any other crime.
If you came across our borders without permission, you have violated our national sovereignty and are here illegally–you should be sent back to your home country.
In addition to being an issue of law, this is also a matter of national security–which is why the Department of Homeland Security is involved in the first place. We know people from South America are slipping across our border and into our country, and we’re also pretty sure people from the Middle East are slipping across that same border…and the last time I checked, every single one of the 911 terrorists were from the Middle East. Should we now change the name of DHS to the Department of Illegal Alien Security, to let them know the Obama Administration will help them trespass securely in our country?
The Obama administration has already been looking for every way possible to get out of enforcing our nation’s border and immigration laws using “stealth amnesty” programs and directives. Now they’re coming out into the open about it. And after all, why not? They’ve given the American people and the U.S. Constitution the middle finger with regard to unconstitutional government health care, deciding who gets to exercise the First Amendment and who doesn’t, refusing to enforce our nation’s law protecting marriage from counterfeiting at the federal level, the War Powers Act,
I don’t say this lightly, but isn’t it getting about time we seriously considered impeaching this lawless man who occupies the office of the President of the United States? Seriously, if he refuses to do the job the American people hired him to do, it’s time for him to pack up and go.
Oh, I know the U.S. Senate is controlled by the same pack of constitutionally contemptuous lawless ones as the president, so even if we could get the House on board, the Lawbreaker-in-Chief is still unlikely to be removed. But shouldn’t we, the American people, start calling for his impeachment out of pure principle? If we continue to ignore such outrageous contempt for our nation’s laws and sovereignty, aren’t we silently endorsing his contempt…and a state of lawlessness?
