BREAKING: Google Blogger Blackout! AND "UPDATE: FROM Grumpy Elder's blog

Who turned the lights off?!

To:  All Friends and Visitors

This is an apology for our "down time" due to Google's "CRASH" of all its Blogs during the past few days.  It began with a brief interruption on Wednesday; became a full blown interruption early yesterday afternoon.

Of course, many bloggers have become good friends and jokes are being passed along among us, but considering the fact that none of us are paid a salary for our time and efforts, but merely trying to keep us informed about news that is not normally run on our main stream media, you can imagine what we're thinking!

No?

Okay - here's a few thoughts:

1.  Rumors have been flying for the past few years that Obama's administration would love more control of the Internet.  Since this blog is not a "love fest" for Obama and his ideology, or his disrespect towards Israel, at first, I thought "Oh oh, I have been blackballed!"  (Until I found out all my friends were also down, that thought had crossed my mind for an instant).

2.  Is Homeland Security becoming more interested in our blogs than in securing the borders?

Anyone remember the East Coast black out in the early 60's?  Wow!  That was scary: folks caught in elevators, etc.  Hospitals running on generators.

Now, imagine what would happen if the Internet went down and there were no news except for that pouring out of the liberal media, by way of the White House - that is beyond scary!

So, here I am, testing .... testing .... to see if this post will show up on Real Americans Defend Israel.

And to all my friends, perhaps we need a backup off of Google .... !!  If anyone has suggestions, please comment.

Thank you for your patience!

Bee Sting

I dedicate this song to Google's engineers:

UPDATE

Blogger is back

What a frustrating day. We’re very sorry that you’ve been unable to publish to Blogger for the past 20.5 hours. We’re nearly back to normal — you can publish again, and in the coming hours posts and comments that were temporarily removed should be restored. Thank you for your patience while we fix this situation. We use Blogger for our own blogs, so we’ve also felt your pain.

Here’s what happened: during scheduled maintenance work Wednesday night, we experienced some data corruption that impacted Blogger’s behavior. Since then, bloggers and readers may have experienced a variety of anomalies including intermittent outages, disappearing posts, and arriving at unintended blogs or error pages. A small subset of Blogger users (we estimate 0.16%) may have encountered additional problems specific to their accounts. Yesterday we returned Blogger to a pre-maintenance state and placed the service in read-only mode while we worked on restoring all content: that’s why you haven’t been able to publish. We rolled back to a version of Blogger as of Wednesday May 11th, so your posts since then were temporarily removed. Those are the posts that we’re in the progress of restoring.

Again, we are very sorry for the impact to our authors and readers. We try hard to ensure Blogger is always available for you to share your thoughts and opinions with the world, and we’ll do our best to prevent this from happening again.

He might think it's been frustrating, from what I understand Wrd Press thinks it's the best day Blogger ever had.

To give you some idea of the scope of the outage.. this is from the Google blog titled  "Blogger is turning Ten" published in June 2009

Every minute of every day, 270,000 words are written on Blogger

Millions of people worldwide use Blogger to publish to their blog each week

Almost two thirds of Blogger's traffic comes from outside North America (What's the #2 country after the U.S.? Brazil, followed by Turkey, Spain, Canada, and the U.K.)
http://buzz.blogger.com/2011/05/blogger-is-back.html

That's 15.000,000 words every hours and while they didn't say how many websites they have..  They indicate millions of sites..

That means this dwarfs Homeland Security's Accident back in Febuary...They only managed to take out 84,ooo sites with their mistake..
