Obama Compares Immigrants Who Came Through Ellis Island to Illegals Crossing the Border

President Obama is garnering criticism for comments he made at a fundraiser last Thursday in which he compared those who came through Ellis Island with illegals crossing the U.S. border with Mexico. Radio Host mike Gallagher reacts.

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door
and all who came to America legally were greeted with these humble words. They came with a hope and dreams of living in a free society; they came tired, some hungry, some with only the clothes on their backs, while others had some money, or little money and yet they came to the most welcoming country on earth. They worked and assimilated into America's society, learning to speak its language (English) and all contributed to making this nation what it is today. They did not sneak in through a back door or side window; they proudly came through America's front doors - Ellis Island.
Unlike today, where many (millions) sneak across the borders in the dead of night, hoping to enter America illegally through the back door.
Americans are sick and tired of having its resources and Federal funds depleted to support illegal aliens! Some report that there are over 20 MILLION illegals in America today - 20 MILLION is a guess, since there isn't an actual count on how many are added daily.
What country other than America would allow this - when in some countries crossing a border without proper papers is a good way to get shot in your tracks, or imprisoned.
We expect everyone to obey the laws of the land and that includes America's Immigration laws. We certainly expect a President to do the same and not try to gloss over an issue that needs to be corrected immediately! Shame on you, Obama, for attempting to ignore the laws of the United States!
Whoever runs for Office in 2012 had better make this one of their priorities - take a stand for America and not find loopholes or rewrite history to accomodate those who mock our laws.
