NEW HAMPSHIRE - DECEMBER 2010
Severe weather on the East Coast, Dec. 25 0 26, 2010
White Mountains - NH - after snowfall
I cannot remember if January came in like a "Lion", but the year ends in New England with the roar of wind and snow. The photos are not my own, however, it gives everyone an idea of what our state looks like today - after shoveling out of about a foot or less of snow. The first blizzard of the season rushed up the coastline, so the southern states actually received more snow than New Hampshire.
The blizzard actually is a reminder to me of how this year has touched my own life. The winds of political upheaval; the votes that counted this past November in an attempt to grab hold of our country- out of the hands of corrupt politicians who do not have America's best interest or security as their agendas; the passing of my dearest friend, in August; and like a camera taking quick snapshots, this year has passed all too quickly, but it will remain with me for the rest of my life.
and now, a New Year is upon us. Will it hold bright promises for a better future for our children? our grandchildren? Will it be marked with great sorrow, touched by moments of joy? I am thankful that we cannot tell the future, for if we had that ability, I fear we would not have the energy to march onward. Better that we leave all things in the hands of our Creator, trusting that He will see us through another year, with hope for all things good, for each of us and our loved ones.
Never forget to look to the needs of others and listen to the music within your own heart. That is what encourages me, daily, as we continue to look for a brighter and better world, where peace will reign. Do not wait for it to happen, be a part of bringing this wish to reality - then, each will be blessed beyond measure.
Is for your best year yet,
A year where life is peaceful,
And what you want, you get.
The past year’s memories,
And live your life each new day,
Full of bright expectancies.
With happiness galore;
And when it’s done, I wish you
Happy New Year, and many more.
To be better this year than the last.
And I work very hard; the rules hardly get bent,
But this discipline gets old so fast!
Just watch how I do and you’ll see!
I’m not going to have yet another blowout;
I’ll be good as I know I can be.
If I weaken and fall on my ast,
I’ll be thankful again that you’ll help me along
As you have during all new years past.
