How many bigots does it take to stop a mosque?
This is rather confusing, from CBS. While the text says that "Nearly three of four Americans -- 72 percent -- say building a mosque so close to the site is not appropriate," their graphic differs by one percentage point. Whatever.
In other "news" from the Left,
Of course that's not exactly what Boone said. What he wrote was specifically this:
This isn't easy to write. It's not fun to say. It's virtually unthinkable to realize and acknowledge. While the controversy still rises and rages on, around the proposed "Cordoba House" mosque and Muslim cultural center right on the edge of Ground Zero... there is a world-famous building, dedicated by its current residents to similar purposes, in the middle of Washington, D.C. We call it the White House.
I wonder if Pat Boone knows that in the Andalusian town of Marbella on the coast of Spain, the Saudi royal family has a magnificent estate that includes a full-size replica of the White House.
Marbella sounds familiar, right? That's because Michelle and Sasha just took an ostentatious vacation there while the President cried in his birthday beer in Chicago. Anyway, here's the Saudi estate, in case you don't believe me.
According to Sawsana Real Estate:
... Marbella is the pioneer location for living large.Likely the most recognized palace in Marbella is Mar-Mar, the humble abode of the former King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, which hangs with a golden glow above a good part of the coveted Milla de Oro and only a few meters away from the mosque Abdulaziz al Saud, named after the monarch’s father.Mar-Mar is a marble and gold copy of the White House and is the only property formerly classified as “Royal Palace” on the Costa del Sol. In 2002, the refurbishing of the palace ended with a final price tag of an estimated €108 million (think golden faucets and manicured garden creations). The palace, of course includes numerous swimming pools, its own mosque, a hospital and several luxury villas........ These days, the king’s successor and brother Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud continues to visit Marbella... His own palace in Marbella, Al-Riyad, is just a short walk away from Mar-Mar.
Not many people know this... mostly just loyal BtB readers:)
And here's something else few people know, even though it's sitting right there at Wikipedia for all to see. This Prince Salman bin Whatshisname has a son, Prince Sultan, who was an astronaut on board the U.S. space shuttle. Of course that must have been back when NASA was a space program, and not a community organized around therapeutic PR.
I could go on to the next dot, about how the GZ imam is claiming credit for The Won's Cairo speech --"If you examine this chapter you will find that the (Obama) speech in Cairo was all taken from this section," Rauf stated in a February recording, which was first posted by Islam critic Walid Shoebat.
-- but if I did that, you might go stark-raving mad. And besides, then we'd have to go back over the story of how in that very speech The Won made a veiled reference to the story of Isra, and how that story just happens to be the basis of the Muslims' imaginary claim to Jerusalem. That would, in turn, bring up their founding prophet and the winged horse named Boraq that he supposedly parked at the Kotel on his way up to Heaven... and then I would just have to remind you that the Palestinian Authority's Office for Religious Affairs claims that the Kotel is therefore Muslim property, etc. etc. But I think I'll stop here instead. It's like my mother-in-law used to say, may she rest in peace, "Enough is too much already."
Can you imagine how many more Americans would be opposed to the GZ mosque if they knew even a tenth of this? *Sigh*
