President Shimon Peres landed in Cairo on Sunday afternoon for a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak as part of a brief visit. He was greeted at the airport by Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

According to Egyptian reports, the two discussed efforts to renew the peace process in an extension of Mubarak's meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the matter two weeks ago. The meeting follows US President Barack Obama's letter to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warning the latter of a deterioration of relations should he refuse direct talks.

Mubarak and Peres also discussed the "green light" given by the Arab League to Abbas for resuming peace talks. Nevertheless, the League sent a letter to Obama outlining the Arab stance and principles expected to be provided as part of the peace process.

The Egyptian leader has been holding intense consultations regarding peace efforts in the last weeks and has met Saudi King Abdullah and the Jordanian foreign minister. He has also met US special envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell, Abbas and Netanyahu.

My Note:
Okay, now we are absolutely positively assured of one thing and that is, Abbas has no power to speak without the "seal of approval" by the Arab League.  You all know the bunch - Saudi King Abdullah, Jordan, Egypt, etc.

Now, these are the same thugs who willingly attacked Israel and wished to see her wiped off the map long before that Iranian madman coined the phrase; before the PLO's/PA's existed; and before the terrorist organization, Hamas, began shooting rockets into Israel.

So, what we have here is a list of demands (again!) from the "Arab" League, presented by their puppet Abbas, BEFORE peace talks begin.  That sets the stage for failure BEFORE anyone sits down at the table and those "DEMANDS" sent off to Obama hold no weight, when there are not to be any pre-conditions BEFORE talks begin.

My first suggestion would be that the Arab League demonstrate their sincerity for peace by first getting Abbas to put a zip-lock bag over Hamas and stop the rockets pouring into Israel BEFORE peace talks begin, as that would then show the world that ALL Palestinians are in the same boat and in agreement among themselves.  After all, if the Arabs cannot get along among themselves, how on earth do we expect them to maintain peace with Israel?
