A soldier from an elite IDF unit has been missing since the pre-dawn hours. He had been participating in a training exercise, navigating on foot through the Haruvit Forest  in south-central Israel. The forest is located between Re'em Junction and the Elah Valley, west of Beit Shemesh. (See map on Israeli National News)

The soldier's family is aware of the situation. Large IDF forces are searching for the soldier.
The soldier was last seen at 4:00 A.M. His commanders decided to begin the search for him when he failed to make it to a pre-determined gathering place.

There are conjectures that he may have fallen into a shaft or ravine.
