This week we had the pleasure of sharing a summer barbecue with a refugee from Cuba. Our dinner conversation was starkly different than most.
This refugee came to the United States as a young boy in the early 1960s. His family was more fortunate than most as they were able to bring a suitcase and $100 when they fled Castro’s newly formed revolutionary paradise.
Our dinner consisted of all-American fare: hamburgers, potato salad, watermelon and fresh ears of sweet corn. This is a menu shared with family and friends nationwide, while celebrating the birth of our beloved America on the Fourth of July.
We began with a simple discussion about our country and the direction it has taken since Barack Obama came to power. We shared the usual complaints about the sour economy and liberal social engineering emanating from the rulers in Washington.
But then he said it. The sentence came naturally. I assume it was unplanned. But it carried the weight of a freight train.
"You know when Castro took power, none of us knew he was a Communist." We sat stunned. He continued, "Yes, we all thought he was a patriot, a nationalist. Before the revolution he didn’t sound like a radical."
The comparison at this point was easy, and I interjected, "You mean just like Barack Obama?"
He responded, "Yes, just like Barack Obama."

Note:
This is not shocking news; nor is it something that has not crossed the minds of most Americans. Yes, Obama is a socialist progressive with Communist tendencies.
He also demonstrats signs of becoming the first president who actually thinks he has been given the title "dictator" as he extends his powers beyond the Constitution and like Custer's "Last Stand", circles his wagons around his Czars and Mexico, ignoring the Constitution and Congress, refusing to take steps to secure America's safety - including America's borders between Mexico and the U.S.
Doesn't anyone in Washington have the common sense to ask questions?! Congress needs to insist immediately that the president cease and desist from his un-American actions that place the United States in constant danger!

Majority of Likely Voters Agree 'Socialist' Accurately Describes Obama

A majority of likely voters think "socialist" is a fair description for President Obama, according to a new poll that looks at how well Obama's critics have been able to tag him with that buzzword and its often negative connotations.
The poll by Democracy Corps, the firm of James Carville and Stan Greenberg, estimates that 55 percent of likely voters believe "socialist" is a somewhat accurate description of Obama. Poll respondents were asked about a list of words and how well they related to Obama.
When asked about "a socialist," 33 percent of likely voters said it described Obama "very well," 22 percent said "well," 15 percent said "not too well," and 25 percent said "not well at all."
A majority of likely voters, 56 percent, also found that Obama is too liberal – 35 percent saying it describes him as "very well," 21 percent saying "well," another 21 percent saying "not too well" and 17 percent saying "not well at all
