Obama rep silent as Syria promotes blood libel against Israel at UN Human Rights Council

And not only did the Obama rep stay silent: "American taxpayers will pay 22 percent of the cost for this speech to be permanently posted on the UN website, translated, and broadcast around the world."

"Syrian Rep Promotes Blood Libel at UN Human Rights Council: And the U.S. stays silent," by Anne Bayefsky in The Weekly Standard, June 8 (thanks to Israel Matzav):
Meeting today in Geneva, the UN Human Rights Council heard the following statement from the Syrian representative, First Secretary Rania Al Rifaiy: "Israel...is a state that is built on hatred...Let me quote a song that a group of children on a school bus in Israel sing merrily as they go to school and I quote 'With my teeth I will rip your flesh. With my mouth I will suck your blood.'" The Obama administration chose to join this Council, the UN's lead human rights body, and its representative was present. But they said nothing after hearing this blood libel. On the contrary, rather than expose the Council and its anti-Jewish agenda, one of President Obama's first foreign policy moves was a decision to pay for it. Hence, American taxpayers will pay 22 percent of the cost for this speech to be permanently posted on the UN website, translated, and broadcast around the world. [...]
There are no more excuses for President Obama to pretend that there is a greater good in lending American credibility to an international vehicle for anti-Semitism. It is time to leave the UN Human Rights Council and to ensure that not a single U.S. dollar is used to encourage its sickening agenda.
Yes.

silence is compliance

Why is this not on the record?

Is says "For use of the information media; not an official record"
Ahh, for the MEDIA
Must be islamophobic to report the truth.
First Reuters
Now the UN?

Not only is silence compliance, but paying for it to be posted is actively supporting that same, twisted belief.
The song he claims the Israeli children were singing sounds like another one of those crazy accusations of Infidels attacking muslims by taking off a shoe and smacking them with it or throwing it at them. Completely unbelievable. Completely ludicrous.
What muslims would like to do to us, they habitually turn around and accuse non-muslims of doing to them. It doesn't matter how culturally inappropriate that action would be from the attacker's perspective. They are so self-centered that they cannot see the world from any other point of view, and their arrogance makes them expect the rest of us to believe their wild claims without questioning them. Still, Mr. Obama either falls for it or he is using his office to push a personal agenda that is abhorrent to almost every American citizen.
I will greatly enjoy voting Obama and his pack of hyenas out of office.

I apologise in advance for any offence but we are supposed to be democratic, after all. So, why should Obama be constantly spotlighted for behaving like a despotic Muslim POTUS, when we should be examining the corrupted psyche of tens of millions of free people that voted for him?

It's a council on human rights, not human decency. The Syrian delegation is exercising its right to libel, a very common Islamic liberty.
There's some truth to the charge of Jewish cannibalism: We had a Syrian for supper tonight - of course, that's fellafel in a pita with tahini.

"...we should be examining the corrupted psyche of tens of millions of free people that voted for him?"
---------------
We are examining them, and exposing them every day for the ridiculous idiots they are. They're the same people who are now screaming that the right is more of a threat than Islamofascism. They're the same people who demonize Israel and lionize "Palestinians."
Obama's the worst of the lot, but he's just the very prominent tip of the iceberg.

Good point. Obama is the not the real problem, but rather a symptom of the real problem-----the dumbing down of the American electorate. This man should have never been elected President. His credentials were scarce, his associations putrid and his ideas antithetical to what made America great. Those who voted for him are the real problem and, sadly, most who voted for him haven't learned a damn thing yet. And let's not forget that the Republicans largely stopped acting like conservatives and started behaving as Democrat Light. Oh yeah, there's enough blame to go around.
Certainly Obama is a fool, but unfortunately there are fools aplenty in America nowadays. Time to rectify this, assuming there still is time to do so. I would say there is but I would also say we're running out of time to save the nation. Freedom above all made America great, not government programs, political correctness, multiculturalism, socialistic theories and an emphasis on equality over liberty (except under the law).

Actually the song sounds like one that those little Palestinian kindergarten songs that the kids
sing on Pali TV.

The Syrian representative's speech is no worse than what Obama willingly listened to in his mentor Rev. Wright's church. Why should he object now?
Ironically, the Arabs continually accuse the Jews of what they themselves are guilty of. There is so much talk by Arabs of drinking the blood of the enemy, taking the enemy's women, humiliating the enemy for the sake of Allah, etc. In the Jewish view, this is barbarism. In needs to be stated: no Jewish child has ever sung such a song.
It's time for the U.S. and other sane countries to leave the UN. Just as the League of Nations reached the end of its usefulness, so has the UN come to the end of any utility it ever had. The U.S. must stop funding it and must put its efforts into a new international body not dominated by despots. The UN and its extension, The International Court, are rotten to the core.
Our participation is giving credibility to entities that are out to undermine and destroy us.

Speaking of Libel...check out the trashing
on the Al Qassam site.
Maybe this is Obamas fav.

David,
You make an excellent point!
While peopke are trhe strength of a deocracy, people are also the weakness. This weakness elects and re-elects traitors like Clinton, Bush and Obama (yes, all three, in their own way, are traitors. How and why? can be an interesting debate, outside of the subject in question. Who is a patriot? Americans had a true patriot under their very nose, who they disregarded and when Tom Tancredo left the race, writing wa son the wall.... none of the crooks, including John 'Hernandez' McCain, were serving their country.
Last patriot was Tom Tancredo, R-CO, by disregarding whom, americans have invited their own doom.
That said, David, a POTUS/Commander-in-chief cannot be held to any lower standard given that the POTUS, his/her family and the entire administration and their families, sorry to be so crass, feed off of the tax-dollars of the voters, if you see the point.

Two days ago on Yahoo News, it was reported that in the wake of the flotilla mini-jihad and Israel's audacious, criminal attempt to defend itself, Obama has responded by earmarking an additional $400 million for Gaza and the West Bank. I thought this would evoke a strong response from many in the media, but apparently not, as far as I can tell. Here we are, trillions in debt, but somehow Obama can cough up an additional $400 million for the murderous Gazan Muslims and the devious, corrupt, likewise murderous Palestinian Authority, whose officials, including the late, unlamented Arafat and Three Piece Abbas (also known by his nom de guerre, Abu Mazen) have already pocketed at least that much, siphoning off U.S., U.N., and European aid as a form of personal jizya. Your tax dollars at work.
