Is MSNBC Falling Out of Love with Obama?
Keith Olbermann, for instance, was less than impressed with Obama’s BP speech. “It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days,” the man who became (in)famous for doing everything in his power to discredit and disgrace conservatives said on his show yesterday. When guest Howard Fineman asked Olbermann whether he believed Obama had aimed too low, he responded: ”I don’t think he aimed low, I don’t think he aimed at all. It’s startling.”
A little later he quoted Obama as saying: “Our determination to fight for the America we want for our children, even if we’re unsure exactly what that looks like, even if we don’t yet know yet how we’re going to get there, we know we will get there.” Olbermann: “It’s nice, but again, how?Where is the how in this speech, when the nation is crying out for how?“
If you wouldn’t know any better, you’d almost think that it’s 2006, rather than 2010, and that George W. Bush instead of Obama is the president.
And Olbermann isn’t the only MSNBC hack suddenly becoming critical of the man once heralded by him and his fellow leftists as a secular Messiah. Even Chris Matthews finally realizes that the “thrill” he felt up his leg when listening to Obama giving speeches during the 2008 campaign, “was probably a stroke” (h/t the Daily Caller).
“I don’t sense executive command,” Matthews said about Obama’s handling of the BP oil spill. He went on to explain that the president is repeating many of the mistakes made by former President Jimmy Carter during his one-term presidency.
Although I honestly can’t help but wonder why – why the sudden change? Do MSNBC’s appalling ratings have something to do with it? – I guess there are times that one should just be grateful and not ask too many inconvenient questions. Perhaps this is one of them.
MSNBC is falling out of love with Obama and becoming more critical of this administration: whether this is because they suddenly rediscovered journalists ethics or not is, to a large degree, irrelevant. Let’s just enjoy watching this unholy love relationship come to an end.
Note: Keith Olbermann is the "king of mockers" whenever an opportunity arose, such as, laughing at anyone who disagreed with Obama's "hope and change" at Town Hall meetings, or when Tea Party members asked questions relating to Obama-care, etc. Mr. Olbermann's behavior on MSNBC has been less than professional and yet, as Michael Savage noted during a recent press conference with Obama, "the press and media" are waking up! Their heads are out of the sand and what they are now commenting on are issues many conservatives have been addressing since Obama first took office.Welcome to the real world, Mr. Olbermann!
