U.S. Budget Support Totals $150 Million in Fiscal Year 2010
May 4, 2010Jerusalem
Jerusalem – The United States has successfully completed the transfer of $75 million in budget support to the Palestinian Authority (PA), in fulfillment of the U.S. Government’s commitment to provide $150 million in direct budget assistance to the PA in Fiscal Year 2010. The United States had, at the request of the PA, previously delivered $75 million in December 2009.
This assistance will support PA President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad’s efforts to build the institutions necessary to sustain a future state, and deliver effective services to the people of the West Bank and Gaza. The provision of direct budgetary assistance is subject to strict auditing and accountability mechanisms.
With this transfer, the United States has provided more than $650 million in direct budget support to the PA over the past three years. The United States remains the largest single national donor to Palestinians, and the United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development and other agencies, provides continuing development and humanitarian programs to support the Palestinian Authority and the people of the West Bank and Gaza.
For more information please contact the U.S. Consulate’s Press Office at 02-622-6908 or 02-622-6909.

In an article I posted yesterday "PA negotiating with US, not Israel" published by The Jerusalem Post, a PA official in Ramallah was quoted as saying "“It’s easier for us to negotiate with the Americans because they share most of our positions, especially on the issues of security and the future borders of the Palestinian state.” He went on to say, "the Arab countries were “assured” that the US administration would exert “unprecedented pressure” on Israel to stop construction not only in the West Bank, but also in Jewish neighborhoods in east Jerusalem.“
The United States was supporting the Palestinians BEFORE Obama took office a year ago, January 2009, however, since he became the U.S.'s 44th President, the animosity towards Israel has stepped up a few notches to the point where we now hear Palestinian "officials" stating there is no need to speak with PM Netanyahu, as they will sit back and let the United States pressure Israel into making more concessions to the Arabs, formally of the PLO terrorist organization, and they wish to throw into the mix, Jerusalem, the very heart and soul of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
The United States has not only supported the Palestinians with lots of cash, but have had our own military training the Palestinians in the West Bank; we have shared our technology, money, and military aid with the Palestinians. Does any of this information upset anyone in America? Recently Jewish organizations, including Eli Wiesle, a Holocaust survivor, have written open letters to Obama, requesting that this administration support Israel and requested that relationships between Israel and the United States remain strong.
I have said Obama speaks with a double-tongue, but reading this latest Press Release from the U.S. Consulate, gives a better example of the United States foreign policy having a double standard between the U.S. and its allies - we are working towards forcing Israel to give up Jerusalem?! Is it any wonder the Obama administration was "insulted" to hear an announcement during Biden's recent visit to Israel that Israel was planning to continue building in East Jerusalem? Biden was insulted because it is apparent from the Arabs and our contributions to the Palestinians that the United States has decided to support Abbas and his gang, over Israel.
Ah, but there is more to the contributions the United States gives to the Muslims, since Obama took office. Please read Israpundit's article dated September 9, 2009,
"US provides Massive Foreign Assistance to Her Enemies", by by D. L. Gary-Pandol, Strategic Solutions for a new Middle East
.
"Did you know that there has never been a time in American history that a president has chosen to sign into law, legislation that contributes $960 million in foreign assistance to the enemies of the United States, within a 12 month period, and at a time of deep economic crisis?
The first public announcement came on July 24, when Secretary of State Clinton, declared she wanted to “personally announce the delivery of $200 million” for the budget needs of the Palestinian Authority, (PA), under the present leadership of Mahmoud Abbas. By directing these
contributions to the PA, the President may be in direct contravention of the 2009 Omnibus Appropriations Act, (P.L. 111-8), Sec. 7039, (b) and (c).
Section 7039 (b) of the federal statute prohibits the funding and economic support of any “individual, private, or government entity, or educational institution . . . [that] advocates, plans, sponsors, engages in, or has engaged in, terrorist activity . . . .” Furthermore, Section 7039, (c) (1) notes, that funds cannot be granted to the West Bank and Gaza that “. . . may be made available for the purpose of recognizing or otherwise honoring individuals who commit, or have committed acts of terrorism.”
To circumvent these important stipulations in Sec. 7039, in a White House memorandum, Presidential Determination, No. 2009-23, Obama signed a waiver of restriction on providing funds to the Palestinian Authority stating it was in the national security interests of the United States to do so. Is funding groups like the PA in the national security interests of the American people?" (more)
Welcome to the USA of Arabia. Next, the flag of the Palestinians will be flying over the White House.
