"Someone New" for President

Right Truth

April 06, 2010

A friend emailed me yesterday saying that the Republicans don't have a candidate that can beat Barack Obama. I told him that I have faith a true Conservative will rise to the top before the 2012 election. I believe we have several good candidates, and I do not mean anyone who has run in the past, but someone new. A Zogby survey proves I'm right.

If a presidential election election were held today, "someone new" would win handily over President Obama, with a 50 percent to 42 percent margin of victory, according to a new poll.

The poll by Zogby International, commissioned by the O'Leary Report, showed Obama's support has plunged among the 60 million voters who pay federal income taxes, among 80 million gun owners and in congressional districts called "competitive" by the Cook Political Report.

The O'Leary Report political newsletter is published by Brad O'Leary, author of the books "The Audacity of Deceit" and "Shut Up, America."

The poll showed that only 42 percent of likely voters today would choose to re-elect Obama. Fifty percent would choose "someone new." (continue reading)

While many Republicans have refused to donate to the RNC, being upset with them for the way they spend money and the RINOs they seem to prefer. Rasmussen reports that Americans are more willing to contribute this year and more willing to contribute to individual candidates than to the national groups.

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of U.S. voters say they are more likely to contribute time or money to a political campaign this year compared to previous election years.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 34% say they are less likely to contribute time or money this year, while 22% say the likelihood is about the same.

Sixty-five percent (65%) of the Political Class say they are more likely to contribute time or money this year, while Mainstream voters are almost evenly divided between being more likely or less likely to give.

Interestingly, 59% of Mainstream voters are more likely to contribute to an individual candidate, but the plurality (44%) of the Political Class is more inclined to give to a political party. (more)

Which someone new would you like to see run and be elected? Perhaps Michele Bachmann? Maybe Eric Cantor? Paul Ryan? Bobby Jindal? Marco Rubio? Sarah Palin?

Or, someone brand new? Someone squeaky fresh?
