Every year, Israeli children gather around bonfires on the Jewish holiday of Lag BaOmer and burn the effigies of the enemies of the Jewish people. Perennial favorites in that category include the likes of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein.
Now, a Jewish rightist group wants to add US President Barack Obama to that list.
Bentzi Gupshtain, a member of the outlawed Kahane Chai (Kach) party, said his organization is distributing hundreds of effigies of the US president for children to set fire to on Lag BaOmer May 2nd.
"The Israeli people's enemy is Barack Hussein Obama," Gupshtain told Israel Radio. "He is an anti-Semite and an Islamist. We received many requests from children all over Israel for the effigies and want to teach children to trust in God, not Obama."
During the interview, Gupshtain drew a parallel between Obama and the late Palestinian leaders Yasser Arafat of Fatah and Ahmed Yassin of Hamas, saying they were all enemies of the Jewish State.
The Obama administration recently roused the ire of Israel's Right by insisting that Jewish construction in the West Bank and east Jerusalem be frozen.
Kach is recognized as a terrorist organization by Israel, the US and the European Unio.

Note: It is important that one understand the difference between an enemy and a friend, otherwise our choices and relationships throughout our life would be upside down and worse, like that children's nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty, all the king's horses and men would never be able to put Humpty together again!Reading the headlines of the Obama administrations punishments against Israel, the insults to Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, the outrage from Biden, Clinton and Obama, towards Israel, the refusal to honor military contracts since Obama took office, the increase in tax payors dollars to Hamas and the Palestinians over the past year, giving more money to Hamas while Hamas refuses to return one IDF solider to Israel ... are all signs that yes, Obama is not friend to Israel. His lying words and pretense towards Israel have worn thin since he became the President of the United States. This "effigy" of Obama is merely one example that some who look upon Obama, see an "Emperor with No Clothes".
As a footnote, Obama has mocked Americans who have demonstrated against his ever-increasing tax, health care and foreign policies. His contempt is unbecoming to a President and his skin is thin - why? Perhaps because not all in America look upon Obama as their "friend". His popularity polls are slipping faster than ice cream melting on a hot summer's day. I am not familiar with the group in Israel, burning an effigey,but it is not surprising, when one puts all the piecies of the Obama puzzle together - the puzzle takes a shape all its own, and it is not a pretty sight.
