'I want to work with Netanyahu'

Abbas hopes for Arab League approval for proximity talks on May 1.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday declared his willingness to work with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, adding that he hoped to get Arab League approval for indirect proximity talks on May 1.

"Try me," Abbas told Channel 2. "I say on behalf of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, that we are prepared for an agreement."

(Wow!  Could this have something to do with the latest news about Israel's freeze on building in East Jerusalem?  And what concessions has the PLO given in return?)

He said that US Middle East envoy George Mitchell had put forward "various ideas" on his recent trips to the region, and that the PLO would present its proposal to the Arab League on the first day of next month. (Can hardly wait to hear anti-Israel White House "ideas"!  Has Israel given the Palestinians half of Jerusalem yet? or, how much land as a trade off for false peace?)

"I hope the response will be a positive one," he said.

(From who?  The Arab League?  Are the Hamas/Gaza Arab's a part of this league?  They produced a threatening video yesterday for Israel, including threats to kidnap more members of the IDF, so please tell us if you speak for all Palestinians, a portion of them, or none of them.  If you are the leader, why do you need the Arab League's approval? According to Gaza, you are no longer the leader of the Palestinians. - Who's right?!)

The PA president emphasized that the demand for a halt to Jewish construction in east Jerusalem was not a new one, and that the PA had been calling for such a freeze since the Road Map was compiled.

(Liar!  This was "news" after Obama took office! This is an "addition" to all the other pre-conditions before you would discuss "peace"!  Guess things are looking up for the Arabs, considering they do not recognize Israel's right to exist.)

Stressing that Netanyahu was the prime minister "chosen by the Israeli people and elected by the Knesset," Abbas said that on that basis, it was his "duty to work with him."

In response, Netanyahu said he "commends any willingness to resume peace talks."

Regarding that 'Law of Return' for Palestinians refugees, the PA leader hinted that he was not asking for an influx of Palestinians into Israel, merely saying, "TheRoad Map stipulates a 'just solution,' so let's just say, I want a "just solution.'" (HA HA HA! "JUST" solution would be for all Palestinian Arabs to return to their homeland - Jordan.  Nothing is just, as long as tiny Israel continues to break up her land into more teeny tiny pieces.  How's Gaza working out for Israel? That was suppose to bring peace.  Has it?)

He expressed confidence at being able to "explain" the agreed-upon solution to the refugee issue to the Palestinian people.

Concerning recent calls for renewed Palestinian resistance in the West Bank, Abbas said he did "not want demonstrations that deteriorate into violence." (Liar!)

Abbas played down PA Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad's stated intention to declare a Palestinian state in 2011, saying, "There will be no unilateral moves, we want an agreement." In a message of reassurance about Hamas rule in Gaza, Abbas said he was confident that the Arab world would solve the issue, and stressed that he was in "constant contact" with the group in a bid for a reconciliation agreement. (Liar!  Hamas would like to see you hanging from a tree and Hamas listens to no one - remember?  They are an unrecognized terrorist organization and Egypt builds a wall to prevent them from entering Egypt.)

The PA president went on to say that he had made an offer to Hamas to take captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit off the group's hands and allow Abbas to hammer out a swap deal, but to no avail.  (See!  I just told you, Hamas listens to no one - they are terrorists, Islamic terrorists who teach their children that all Jews are pigs and need to be killed.  And so do you, Abbas, so do you!  Since when do you speak truthfully?)

"I have said to Hamas 100 times, 'Give Schalit to me and I'll get a deal that will satisfy everyone,'" he said.  (You are not their leader - the Palestinians voted your crooked regime out of office and chose Hamas terrorists to represent them.)

He recounted how during talks with the previous Israeli government, the two sides had agreed to negotiate "based on the 1967 borders with land swaps." (Bad offer - which was refused by the Palestinians, so that offer no longer is valid.  Israel had better not make same mistake twice!)

"I presented my maps and [former prime minister Ehud Olmert] responded with his maps," he said.  (And?  What happened?  You refused all offers made by Israel, even when Olmert almost gave up the farm (Israel), which he had no right to do under any circumstances - not if he intended to save Israel as the one democratic State in the ME.  Any more offers like that would erase the Jewish State, Israel from the map.)
