Netanyahu has been invited to meet President Barack Obama this coming Tuesday, Netanyahu but he has not accepted that invitation (yet?). But as always, Israel is willing to make further
concessions in an effort to get the peace process moving again. Also as always, the Palestinians denounce Israel.But he said Israel was willing to widen the scope of planned indirect talks with the Palestinians that Mr Mitchell is to mediate.
The diplomatic package Mr Netanyahu is offering has not been made public, but officials say one element is agreement to discuss all the outstanding issues, including the future of Jerusalem, as well as borders, Jewish settlements and Palestinian refugees.
Mr Netanyahu comments on settlements were quickly denounced by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas as unhelpful to attempts to restart peace talks, the AFP news agency reported. (BBC)

Obama's Cairo diatribe was hailed by the left as the greatest speech given by an American president (as were all of Obama's speeches back then). It may, indeed, prove great in its effects -- but the results all look negative for America, Israel and freedom.
Sorry, Mr. President: The Palestinians, Syrians, Iranians, Hexbollah, Hamas, Russians, Chinese, Chavistas and all those enemies you've rushed to embrace are not going to love us -- or you. Cease your mad affairs. Come back to our marriage with our proven allies.
Betraying Israel may give you emotional satisfaction, sir, but it will bring us no lasting benefits. Israel is, literally, flesh of our flesh. Don't stick a knife in it.
