The following is a comment sent to my email, from a dear friend and one who will be shorty making Alliyah ....
Dear Bee Sting,
As much as I detest Biden's and H. Clinton's denunciations of new construction in Jerusalem, and, the increasing number of polemics that our government directs against Israel, it does not surprise me at all. First and foremost, the U.S. government is only looking out for the interests of the United States of America. Naturally, this necessitates kowtowing to the demands of all OPEC nations, and to our own oil based industries as well, because we are absolutely dependent on their [OPEC's] crude oil.
However, what upsets me even more, is that the government of Israel continually caves into the demands of powerful Western nations - especially the U.S. - when it comes to all issues concerning Har Habayit (The Temple Mount), the city of Jerusalem proper, and of course, all the areas within the boundaries of Judea, and Samaria. Notice that most Western nations are not arguing that Jews have no right to live in Tel Aviv, Caesarea, or Haifa.
In my opinion, what all lovers of Tzion must must focus on, are Hashem's prescriptions for justice (peace). Failure to do so, will only guarantee that this suffering will continue, until such time as the Goyim (Non-Jewish nations) decide to force their will upon Israel - via sanctions, and/or military force, (Zechariah 12:1-3). However, this negative prophecy, like all negative prophetic statements, does not have to become a reality, because we know from Torah itself, that if B'nei Yisrael will only do national t'shuvah (repentance), then Hashem will save Israel (the land and the people).
