REAL AMERICANS DEFEND ISRAEL

WELCOME EVERYONE!

Everyone has their own personal definition of the meaning of "Love".  For me, it is a spiritual journey, one that grows with each passing day.  It includes the people I have grown to love along the way and of course, the love of America's freedoms, our country, and all that makes life worth living.

You have heard the expression "You are what you eat" - let me quickly add, "You are what you love".

One year ago, sitting at my dining room table, I posted my first article on this Blog.  Why?  Because I had mentioned to a friend how exciting it would be for me, if only I could present the "real" news - Conservative news from around the world and the Middle East - news rarely printed in America's liberal newspapers and media.  The point of view and the writings of those men and women who truly love and defend our Constitution and all that it represents; and since our present Administration has chosen to support Islamic ideology, while ignoring the true allies of the United States (my opinion, based on the actions of Obama these past two years), I wanted an opportunity to speak for our beloved friends and country, Israel.

As you can tell, I also love music and sharing beautiful music videos with everyone.

But this Blog is not about me - it is about you, dear readers!  What an encouragement you are to me!

I had no idea one year ago if my priorities would be anyone else's; no idea if this Blog will last six months, let alone one year.  However, Real Americans Defend Israel has become a labor of love and a great joy in my life. Love has grown this past year and may it continue, while I am able, to find the best writers and news articles that open windows to our minds and enable us to see "lights in a dark world" and ways to speak up to protect and keep America from becoming what our enemies in high places would like to change for the worse, not for our betterment.

The stats demonstrate to me that from a few readers, Real Americans has blossomed into something beautiful, and from a small idea shared with a friend one year ago, we have made many new friends and may each of you be blessed throughout the coming year.

Some of the most interesting articles posted here, according to our readers, all had to do with POSITIVE information about Israel and the history of the Jews and the State of Israel.  A few high hits were postings about Obama's worst nightmares to America, such as his healthcare bill; some of the music videos were hit frequently, which demonstrates that music crosses all language barriers; and while I sometimes feel frustrated over the White House agendas, what many readers appear to be looking for are factual news reports from the Middle East.  In the coming months, Real Americans Defend Israel will continue to seek out and post issues that most interest each of you, dear Readers.

Thank you for sharing our FIRST celebration with us.  In closing, I ask that each of you "Light a Candle":

HOLOCAUST DENIAL

The purpose of choosing this particular video during our first year's anniversary is for the following reasons:

1.  A great many readers are interested in the denial of the Palestinians for the Jews to pray at the Temple Mount.  They now deny that the Western Wall is the holiest sight in Jerusalem, for the Jews.  The Palestinians are also teaching their children, through the use of Disney characters, that the Jews are "pigs" and deserve nothing but death - another generation of poisoned minds and suicide bombers within the next 20 years!

All this, while our White House continues to press PM Netanyahu and Israel to make concessions for these murders!  Political games that do nothing more than undermine the very lives of Jews throughout the world; anti-Semitism grows throughout Europe and Jews are fleeing European countries to make their home in the only country where they will not be persecuted - Israel.  However, even in Israel, the Jews must be on constant alert from the dangers of rocket blasts into their cities; murders along the highways; lack of buildings, due to imposed "freezes", and whether a Jew is spiritual or secular, they all have one thing in common - the hate of the world towards their one tiny haven and holy land, blessed Israel.

This Friday, the actual date of our Anniversary, is also a special day for the Jews.  *See below"

Jerusalem Under Siege

The walls of Jerusalem at night
The walls of Jerusalem at night
On the 10th of Tevet of the year 3336 from Creation (425 BCE), the armies of the Babylonian emperorNebuchadnezzar laid siege toJerusalem. Thirty months later -- on Tammuz 9, 3338 -- the city walls were breached, and on Av 9th of that year, the Holy Temple was destroyed. The Jewish people were exiled to Babylonia for 70 years.

Tevet 10 (this year December 17, 2010) is observed as a day of fasting, mourning and repentance. We refrain from food and drink from daybreak to nightfall, and add the Selichot and other special supplements to our prayers. More recently, Tevet 10 was chosen to also serve as a "generalkaddish day" for the victims of the Holocaust, many of whom the day of their martyrdom is unknown.

An ancient Jewish custom, which was revived by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, is to deliver words of inspiration and arousal to repentance on fast days. Presented here is our modest contribution to our duty as Jews to reflect on the significance of the tragic events of our history and come away motivated, encouraged, and -- yes -- even inspired:
