The Left and Paleo-Right Unite Against the Evil Terrorist State of Israel!

Unable to sway American sentiment against Israel by myths of illegitimacy or brutal occupancy of “Palestinian Territories,” the I-Hate-Israel-But-Love-Jews crowd has a new talking point. Not that it’s exactly new, but since the attempt to breach Israeli defenses by the terrorist flotilla, this particular drum-beat is heard with greater frequency. Israel, it appears is becoming a true “strategic liability” for America.


This particular accusation is dangerous because it appeals both to the Marxist Left and the Paleoconservative Right. An article by John Mearsheimer, co-author of The Israel Lobby, promoting this concept of Israel as America’s Albatross, is featured on Pat Buchanan’s American Conservative website.


Mearsheimer has this to say about Israel:
Israel is on a disastrous course that it seems incapable of reversing. The attack also highlights the extent to which Israel has become a strategic liability for the United States. Israel is addicted to using military force yet unable to do so effectively. None of the activists had their own guns. The bloody operation was condemned around the world—except in the United States, of course.
Israel’s intoxication with military force, helps explain why the Israeli press routinely carries articles predicting where Israel’s next war will be. But surely the most troubling development for Israel is the growing chorus of voices in the United States who say that Israel’s behavior is threatening American interests around the world, to include endangering its soldiers.
If that sentiment grows, it could seriously harm Israel’s relationship with the United States. There is not going to be a two-state solution…instead, Gaza and the West Bank will become part of a Greater Israel, which will be an apartheid state bearing a marked resemblance to white-ruled South Africa.


Israelis and their American supporters invariably bristle at this comparison, but that is their future if they create a Greater Israel while denying full political rights to an Arab population that will soon outnumber the Jewish population in the entirety of the land. Israel is unwittingly destroying its own future as a Jewish state, and doing so with tacit U.S. support.


People around the globe naturally associate the United States with Israel’s actions. Unfortunately, this makes huge numbers of people in the Arab and Islamic world furious with the United States for supporting Israel’s cruel treatment of the Palestinians. That anger in turn helps fuel terrorism against America.


Remarkably, the lobby is helping Israel commit national suicide while also doing serious damage to American security interests. Voices challenging this tragic situation have grown slightly more numerous in recent years, but the majority of political commentators and virtually all U.S. politicians seem blissfully ignorant of where this is headed, or unwilling to risk their careers by speaking out.


For utopians of Peace, Love and Jihad Left and the isolationist Right, the only thing that will ensure American safety is to abandon Israel. Why? Because it is, according to the world-view of Israel’s opponents in America, our support for Israel that is the genesis of anti-American freedom fighting aka…terrorism.


The continued attempt of Israel’s enemies to label her as an apartheid state, while ignoring the barbarian code of life that is misogynist Islam, is nothing short of pathetic. The briefest comparison of quality of life and independence for women alone between Hamas-ruled Gaza and Israel should put Mearsheimer and his radical Right hosts to shame.


US well-being should, of course, be the primary concern of Americans. But what precisely is in the best interest of America? Far from being a liability, Israel is one of America’s greatest assets. The quick answer to, “Why we should support Israel,” is often insufficiently, “Because it is the only democracy in the region!” It is not the form of Israeli government, but its core Western values that demand that we stand together with Israel against a world dominated by Islamic Sharia.


Would any nation ever seriously believe us if we assert that we transfer our support from Israel to Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Iran, because they are better champions for human rights? For every defense-motivated action on the part of Israel that is billed in UN-World as “inhuman, apartheid, or oppressive,” there are millions of Islamic women sold into slave-marriages, forced to live in shrouds, subject to genital mutilation, and to watch as their sons are raised as future homicide bombers. Supporting regimes based upon these practices will attract the allegiance of any nation worthy of our friendship?


Allies would know that the only reason we would have abandoned Israel, with whom we share essential core values and way of life, would have been to secure energy supplies that our spineless legislators will not procure here at home, to maintain a source of borrowed money for our rapacious government, or to buy peace for land – a tactic that has never worked for Israel. Once we have shown the world that we are up for sale, or that we can be scared into Genocide, we will never know a moment of true security, nor will we deserve one.


And all of that is on top of the simple fact that, as human beings, we do not have the right to stand by while seven million innocent people are annihilated. Again.


David Horowitz warns of the Unholy Alliance between the Left and Radical Islam. It is time to include the anti-Israel Right in this lethal alliance, particularly since this growing movement is about to win its first Senate Seat.

    Our soldiers are endangered by the military’s own rigid rules of engangement.
    Israelis and their American supporters invariably bristle at this comparison, but that is their future if they create a Greater Israel while denying full political rights to an Arab population that will soon outnumber the Jewish population in the entirety of the land.
    This claim of arabs eventually outnumbering Jews has been proven to be a fallacy.

    Israel’s treatment of the so-called “palestinians” is better than that of their fellow arabs. And what fuels terrorism against America is the same thing that fuels islamic terrorism everwhere else in the world including Africa, the Indian sub-continent, the Philippines, Thailand etc. And that would be the 1400 year old islamic doctrine of jihad which islam has waged throughout its history.
    What Mearsheimer, Walt and their ilk say is a crock of shit and does not in the least comport with reality or history.

    This guy must be high. Israel is facing a bleak future? Are we in upside down world? Is Shebrew’s dictionary filled with antonyms instead of definitions? Bleak is the opposite of Israel’s future, which isDAZZLING. I had professors who were a little on the senile side (almost all of them), but this character is drooling fucking apeshit. Where to begin? Economically? Wasn’t Israel just admitted to the exclusive club of kickass economic nations? This is what’s known as a rhetorical question. How about militarily? Doesn’t Jane’s rank the IDF as the fifth most powerful fighting force in the world? That’s another rq. Socially? How many other nations are as socially advanced as Israel? One (clue: “Oh say, can you see”). Technologically? According to Bill Gates, Israel is second to none, but what does he know about technology? So let’s put it this way, Professor Headupyourass.     Begin stood up to Reagan but caved to the weakest President in History till then, Carter. BB was always spineless and fickle. He is the ultimate weasel and the biggest liar of any of our current politicians, and a terrible liar as well. Don’t get me started, I could write a book on him but predicted his behavior way before the last elections. I fought with almost everybody here who tried to defend him and malign me. Right, Ed?
