December 7th - by: Atlas Shrugs

Tuesday, DECEMBER 7, 2010

Today is the anniversary of the second worst attack on American soil in our nation's history. Unlike the 911 attacks and the Ground Zero mosque, the Japanese have not asked to build a Shinto shrine at Pearl Harbor. The Japanese have not announced their intent to break ground on December 7th for such a shrine; nor have they applied for taxpayer funds from a Pearl Harbor Fund for a Shinto Shrine at Pearl Harbor.
The very idea would have been unthinkable. Not anymore.
I suppose now we should be grateful to the Japanese for not building a Shinto shrine at Pearl Harbor or a Nazi memorial outside of Auschwitz -- the Islamic supremacists behind the Ground Zero mosque have taught us to take no act of common decency and human compassion for granted. They have also taught us that there are many different ways to wage a war on a people, a culture, a civilization......

The attack on Pearl Harbor. American exceptionalism defeated the enemy.
On Dec. 7, 1941 - 65 years ago this week - pilots from a Japanese carrier force bombed Pearl Harbor. They killed 2,403 Americans, most of them service personnel, while destroying much of the American fleet and air forces stationed in Hawaii. The next morning, an outraged United States declared war, which ended less than four years later with the destruction of most of the Japanese empire and its military.
Sixty years after Pearl Harbor came another surprise attack on U.S. soil, one that was, in some ways, even worse than the "Day of Infamy."
Nearly 3,000 people died in the Sept. 11 attacks - the vast majority of them civilians. Al-Qaida's target was not an American military base far distant from the mainland. Rather, they suicide-bombed the United States' financial and military centers.
[...]
Do we lack the unity of the past?
Perhaps. But we should at least remember that after Pearl Harbor, a national furor immediately arose over the intelligence failure that had allowed an enormous Japanese fleet to approach the Hawaiian Islands undetected. Extremists went further - clamoring that the Roosevelt administration had deliberately lowered our guard as part of a conspiracy to pave the way for America's entrance into the war.
Are we in over our heads fighting in both Afghanistan and Iraq?
Hardly. Within days after Pearl Harbor, the U.S. found itself in a three-front war against Germany, Italy and Japan - an Axis that had won a series of recent battles against the British, Chinese and Russians.
The most obvious is that, against Japan and Germany, we faced easily identifiable nation states with conventional militaries. Today's terrorists blend in with civilians, and it's hard to tie them to their patron governments or enablers in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Pakistan, who all deny any culpability. We also tread carefully in an age of ubiquitous frightening weapons, when any war at any time might without much warning bring in a nuclear, non-democratic belligerent.
The limitations on our war-making are just as often self-imposed. Yes, we defeated the Axis powers in less than four years, but it was at a ghastly cost. To defeat both Japan and Germany, we averaged over 8,000 Americans lost every month of the war - compared to around 50 per month since Sept. 11.
And in those days, peace and reconstruction followed rather than preceded victory. In tough-minded fashion, we offered ample aid to, and imposed democracy on, war-torn nations only after the enemy was utterly defeated and humiliated.Today, to avoid such carnage, we try to help and reform countries before our enemies have been vanquished -putting the cart of aid before the horse of victory.
Our efforts today are further complicated by conflicting Internet fatwas, terrorist militias and shifting tribal alliances; in short, we are not always sure who the enemy cadre really is - or will be.
UPDATE: Go. HERE NOW

WIKILEAKED: JIHADIST IN THE WHITEHOUSE -- ARMS, FUNDS AND DIPLOMATIC SUPPORT

ATLAS SHRUGS - PAMELA GELLER

What is most interesting about the WikiLeaks is that it validates everything I have been covering at Atlas for years. Everything. Obama's pro-jihahist leanings and antisemitic/anti-Israel predilections, the Islamization of Turkey, Iran and its proxies Hezb'Allah and Hamas, the global warming hoax, and on and on.
Obama's jihad is thriving, it seems, and not just in his translated book title to the Muslim world -- "Obama's Jihad: Jakarta to the Whitehouse."
Obama's tacit support of jihadist forces worldwide is yet another impeachable offense. The man was elected to support and defend the Constitution -- not to mention the American people. Aiding in America's downfall cannot be sanctioned or ignored.
Those who thought that Obama's inviting the Muslim Brotherhood to his speech in Cairo was mere window dressing are engaging in dangerous self-delusion. It was the tip of the iceberg. Seth Mandel details the ugly behind-the-scenes collusion in this American Thinker piece.
Forgive the Mandel's use of "Islamist" in the headline. It's a silly term, IMAO.
WikiLeaks Exposes White House's Conscious Support of Islamists American Thinker
The fact that the latest installment of WikiLeaks coincided with the Egyptian parliamentary elections is unfortunate timing for the U.S. It provides an unflattering portrait of a White House that sides with Islamists both in and out of power around the world.

Though it was to be expected -- in the spirit of "free and fair" elections -- that the White House would say it was "disappointed" that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak shut out the Muslim Brotherhood from the electoral process, how will President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton explain their purposeful strengthening of ties with other Islamists who fund terrorism and undermine U.S. policy in the Middle East and Southeast Asia?

Take, for example, the Obama administration's infusion of goodwill into our relationship with Turkey. Here is how EurasiaNetreportedSecretary Clinton's visit to Turkey early on in the administration:

Combining statecraft with stagecraft, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appears to have turned around US-Turkish relations. For most of the Bush administration's tenure, Washington had a strained relationship with Ankara, but Clinton's first visit to Turkey as President Barack Obama's secretary of state has Turkish officials feeling more optimistic about the future of bilateral relations.
Obama followed up a month later in an address to the Turkish parliament that local media called"historic." In that speech, Obama called for Turkey's accession to the EU.
Let me be clear: the United States strongly supports Turkey's bid to become a member of the European Union," the president said, adding that "Turkish membership would broaden and strengthen Europe's foundation once more.

And more recently, Turkey was publicly assured that the White House would oppose any resolution recognizing the Armenian genocide. The administration continued to reaffirm the friendship between the two countries even in the face of Turkey's involvement in the terror flotillaand the country's blocking of increased sanctions on Iran.

All along, the administration could attribute these actions to the pitfalls of multilateral diplomacy and not a deliberate ideological pursuit on the part of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to usher in a new age of Islamist regional power. Until now.

Thanks to WikiLeaks, we now know that American diplomats were well aware of the direction Erdo ğ an intended to take his country. GlobalPost quotes one leaked cable offering a pretty clear assessment: "Does all this mean that the country is becoming more focused on the Islamist world and its Muslim tradition in its foreign policy? Absolutely."

"Shrugging off diplomatic-speak, American diplomats describe Turkish Prime Minister Teyyip Erdogan as an outspoken Islamist and 'perfectionist workaholic' who may be seeking the creation of an Islamic state," GlobalPost's Iason Athanasiadis reports.

And what of Turkey's claims that part of its value to the West lies in its ability to act as a productive intermediary between the U.S. and Iran? Nonsense, as American diplomats found out. Athanasiadis once more:
Reports allege that, contrary to their claims, Turkish politicians cannot [e]ffect changes in Iranian attitudes and that their country is being used as a transit zone to smuggle dual-use materials into Iran for its controversial nuclear program.
It would be one thing if our support for the Turkish Islamists were only verbal. But that's not the case. We are prepared tosellthe Turks the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. According to Michael Rubin, this decision was made "without even reviewing the potential for technology transfer." He added that Obama was also considering putting an early-warning missile radar -- intended mainly as protection from Iranian missiles -- in Turkey.

And Erdo ğan is not an isolated case. His network of Islamists includes Malaysia's Anwar Ibrahim, former deputy prime ministerand current leader of the opposition. Ibrahim is currently on trial for what his supporters say are trumped-up charges of sodomy, and his powerful friends in the U.S., such as Al Gore and Paul Wolfowitz, have stridently defended him as a persecuted moderate Muslim who should serve as an example of the kind of Islam the U.S. has been -- and should be -- promoting. Hillary Clinton, in her role as secretary of state, requested a face-to-face meeting with Anwar last month, and when it didn't happen, she pressed the Malaysian leadership privately and publiclyon Anwar's behalf.

But Anwar is also an anti-Semite, complaining of Zionist infiltration of state agencies and Israeli proxy control of police units. And Anwar is a co-founder of the International Institute of Islamic Thought, a Muslim Brotherhood think-tank in Virginia that has called for violence against Israel and has been under investigation by the FBI for the better part of a decade for its ties to terrorist organizations.
There's more. Read it all.

I know you have covered Kenya well. But it doesn't hurt to remind your readers that Obama was in Kenya as a senator supporting his Sharia supporting relative and the US spent 22 million supporting the referendum on the Kenyan constitution. Changes which enshrined Sharia into the constitution.

...and led to many deaths. Christians burnt alive in their churches. Odinga is his favorite Kenyan pogo-stick to bounce on when he visits & he's a koranimal too.
Here's a URL from this URL(Imagine that!):
Erdogan is a madman hell bent on destroying the J-C West. Europe knows better than allow those koranimals into their union & we have no right telling them who/what should be allowed in. Is that some sort of Affirmative Action BS on a Nation/state level?

Obama is a traitor to the US and to civilization, but we will never be able to impeach him, we will never get enough Democrats in the Senate to vote for removing him from office. The best we can pray for is that he is arrested and tried after he leaves office, but since Clinton wasn't I doubt he will be.

MY NOTE:
I NORMALLY DO NOT POST COMMENTS FROM SOMEONE ELSE'S BLOG.  HOWEVER, I AM MAKING AN EXCEPTION TO THAT RULE TONIGHT IN ORDER TO DEMONSTRATE THAT AMERICANS ARE FED UP WITH THE MUSLIM FROM KENYA, SITTING IN OUR WHITE HOUSE, AND HOPING ONE PERSON IN THE U.S. HOUSE AND/OR CONGRESS WILL STEP UP AND BEGIN PROCEEDINGS TO IMPEACH THE TRAITOR TO THE U.S.
IT NEEDS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BEFORE AMERICA LOOKS MORE LIKE ONE OF OBAMA'S FAVORITE COUNTRIES IN SOUTH AMERICA OR THE MIDDLE EAST OF ARABIA!

OBAMA'S JIHAD: JAKARTA TO THE WHITEHOUSE

How many Americans know that when Obama had his bloviating screed "The Audacity of Hope" was translated into Indonesian - the title went from "The Audacity of Hope" to "Jihad: From Jakarta To The Whitehouse". The man is dishonest about his Islamic leanings. Check thisour from An American expat Living in Indonesia:
When I first saw the recently released Indonesian translation of Barack Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming The American Dream", over here in Southeast Asia I was completely taken aback not only by the violent imagery in new title of the book"Menerjang Harapan: Dari Jakarta Menuju Gedung Putih", but by the fact that it was not really a translation at all, but rather a completely different title than the original book.
A correct translation of the title of Obama's book would have been "Keberanian Harapan: Pemikiran Untuk Meraih Kembali Impian America" which translates into "Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming The American Dream". However, the title for the Indonesian translation of Barack Obama's book is "Menerjang Harapan: Dari Jakarta Menuju Gedung Putih" which translates into "Assault Hope: From Jakarta to the WhiteHouse".
[...]
Why would the publishers drastically change the title of the book for the Indonesian translation and make use of such figurative language? Your guess is as good as mine, but it would seem that Barack Obama is quite interested with promoting himself in Southeast Asia as a crusader for the cause of Indonesia's Muslims.
Read it all .......most disturbing.

You Pay $1.5 Million for Public Radio to Air Al-Jazeera “News”

Posted on December 7, 2010 by Ben Johnson

One of the Obama administration’s top priorities is “diversifying” the nation’s airwaves. Its commitment to public broadcasting and outreach to Muslims has made the unthinkable possible: This week, publicly funded Pacifica Radio will begin airing an hour of “news” from the radio affiliate of Al-Jazeera television. AJE news will be heard early in the morning in three of the network’s five markets — including New York City. The network’s remaining two affiliates — including WPFW in Washington, D.C.– will pick up the AJE broadcast early next year.
By 2011, the voice of Osama bin Laden’s preferred network will be heard in two of the three 9/11 attack sites at taxpayer expense.
According to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s 2009 Annual Report, taxpayers gave Pacifica Radio’s five stations nearly $1.6 million last year alone, down slightly from $1.75 million in 2008. The station-by-station-breakdown is as follows:
Pacifica StationFederal Grants (2009)Federal Grants (2008)
WBAI-FM (New York)$359,915$461,299
WPFW-FM (D.C.)$238,381$332,229
KPFA-FM (Berkeley, CA)$451,009$359,907
KPFK-FM (Los Angeles)$382,035$425,029
KPFT-FM (Houston)$160,529$174,088
Total:$1,591,869$1,752,552
Showing incredible insensitivity, Pacifica Radio’s executive director, Arlene Engelhardt, hailed the move as a cultural Close Encounters of the Third Kind. “It will give our listeners a little different perspective than an American network,” she said correctly. She added, “We have a tradition of looking for alternative points of view.” That they have.
Radio Pacifica: Communism is on the Air
Radio Pacifica has long hosted the political far-Left at public expense. The institution wasrecently headed by Leslie Cagan, a Castro admirer who maintained her membership in the Communist Party after the fall of the Berlin Wall. This author was the first to report she and Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin established International Occupation Watch in Baghdad in 2003 in the hopes of convincing American soldiers to declare themselves conscientious objectors and get sent home. Occupation Watch also spread stories of alleged U.S. atrocities against Iraqi civilians. Cagan and Benjamin joined forces one year later when they delivered $650,000 in cash and supplies to “the other side” in Fallujah. (Again, this author was the first to report this.)
In 2009, under arcane rules, Pacifica Radio’s New York affiliate, WBAI, elected convicted terror lawyer Lynne Stewart to its Board of Directors. Her election took place shortly before being ordered to begin her (light and long overdue) jail sentence for passing messages between convicted terrorist, “The Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman and his Islamic Group, ending a ceasefire with the secular Egyptian government.
In the midst of her trial, the National Lawyers Guild — once described as “the legal bulwark of the Communist Party” — asked Stewart to give the keynote address at its “Cry Justice” conference in October 2003. After likening its attendees to King David, Beowulf, and Sir Galahad, she made a more apt comparison:
And modern heroes, dare I mention? Ho [Chi Minh] and Mao [Tse-tung] and [Vladimir] Lenin, Fidel [Castro], and Nelson Mandela and John Brown, Ché Guevara…Our quests like theirs are to shake the very foundations of the continents.
The radicalism of its board is only muted by the insanity of its programming. This Memorial Day, its most widely known program — Democracy Now! hosted by Amy Goodman — featured a rant by the most cited academic in America, Noam Chomsky. Chomsky denounced “the great killer and torturer Ronald Reagan, one of the grand criminals of the modern era” and a “monstrous creature.” Sadly, that is but the tip of the iceberg of Pacifica’s radicalism.

Now, as in so many other instances, the radical Left has to appeal to a network that regularly features terrorists in order to find someone who hates America as much as we do.

This, with Juan Williams’ firing, and the FCC’s drive to push Rush Limbaugh off the airwaves, should give conservatives new impetus to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting completely. It is hardly a coincidence that publicly controlled airwaves, a pillar of the Soviet system, promote socialism on our airwaves. It is, however, economically insane and morally offensive that Americans must continue paying for it during a time of massive unemployment and endless deficits.
