With Obama, America has its Own Mohammed - By: Sultan Knish

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

He who may not be mocked, whose middle name may not be pronounced, who is an object of popular worship despite no apparent accomplishment but yet is declared as the harbinger of a new age.

Not long ago a news story interviewed comedians wondering what they were going to do when Obama was President. Clearly they couldn't make jokes about him, they would just have to find someone else to make jokes about.

And who knows what the editorial cartoonists are to do. Even if you are to defy the Cult of Obama and actually submit a cartoon, it's a hell of a slippery slope to being accused of racism. After all if calling Obama a socialist was declared a racist code word, and pointing out that he had terrorist ties, was also a racist code word... the hunt begins for a way to criticize Obama without being accused of racism, only to discover of course that there isn't one.

So what is a leader who can't be criticized? An object of mass adoration whose very image is deified? You can call him a tyrant or you can call him Mohammed.

If America wouldn't go to Mohammed, Mohammed came to America. At least an upbeat, manipulative and youth oriented version with a ready smile and a whole lot of friends with interest in banks, and in collapsing them at the appropriate times. The original Mohammed robbed caravans with his gang of cutthroats, the new and improved model has men and women in business clothes who buy and sell shares and profit from subprime lending. Not to mention the con artists and crooks at ACORN who signed up 7 year olds, the mentally ill and the dead to vote for Obama.

But either way it doesn't matter, as the new declared faith of the land now is Obama. Gone is the separation of Church and State. If you read the papers or watch television, there is but one faith now, the Mosque of Barry. Buy Barry's T-Shirts, buy tickets to his inauguration, donate to his transition team, see what he ate at a carefully staged photo op lunch yesterday.

Tyranny begins in the soul and so does worship. And the hollow children of a hollow culture must worship something, even if it as a man transformed into a brand and back into a man again. They want their Gods and their Prophets in the same packaging as their iPods and their Hoodies, in a word, trendy. And no other word encapsulates Barack Mohammed Obama nearly as well.

Popularity has long since trumped dusty notions like Merit or Achievement. Whose dreams really stand on center stage, that of the scientist or the builder, or the rock star and the NBA basketball player? Cool triumphs over hard work any day of the week. So it was clear that a Mohammed for the infidels would have to be that, which wasn't that hard to achieve compared to say, actual achievement. Especially when everyone with a microphone and a press pass is your waterboy.

What does a truly worthless man with only one gift, that of manipulating people do? As any number of amateur sociopaths know, he founds his own cult, as everyone from Charles Manson to Hitler to Jim Jones to L Ron Hubbard to Joseph Stalin to Mohammed to David Koresh to Barack Obama have done.

You don't need achievement to lead a cult. You just need charisma. And now that's all you need to become the Selected President of the United States. The White House which has been a symbol of a Democratic Republic, now becomes a cult mansion, with an organic garden on the front lawn, and marching morons wearing Obama T-shirts and buttons chanting his name. Haare Obama, Haare Barry.

When American newspaper after newspaper refused to run the Mohammed cartoons. When CNN itself censored them as if they were obscene, the media demonstrated how ready it was to silence all its critical impulses and to bow in obeisance to a dead warlord and pedophile, out of a sour mixture of fear and slavish political correctness. And so the way was made ready for an American Mohammed.

The American Mohammed. A man of no worth or morals or legitimacy. A man with his own cult whose message is his brand and whose brand is his message. A prophet of his own greatness in whose name schools are already being named before he has even taken office. Whose image hangs in more places than that of any living or dead American President. Who may not be criticized.

America has not come to Mohammed. Now Mohammed has come to rule over America.

Objectiveless in Iraq and Afghanistan - By Sultan Knish

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

The dominant question on everyone's mind is when are we going to get out. Out of Iraq and out of Afghanistan. Liberals who voted for Obama with the certainty that both wars were the product of some evil plot hatched by Cheney in the White House subbasement are confused and frustrated as to why the US hasn't just pulled out. Of course those are the same people who were never troubled by Taliban atrocities or Saddam's rape rooms, and aren't going to be too bothered when the Iranian puppet Mahdi Army and the Taliban come back in for a bloody takeover. And if they do, George Galloway or Robert Fisk will be by shortly to explain to them that it's just the oppressors getting exactly what they deserve.

The Obama Administration has no commitment to either war. Much of the Administration from the top on  down, shares Jeremiah Wright's assessment of the last ten years, as a case of the chickens coming home to roost. But it's also concerned enough about its popularity to underwrite a year or two of bloody battles between Allied forces and the Islamic insurgents in both countries, just in order to time a Mission Accomplished pullout before the next Presidential election. This brand of amoral cynicism is in some ways worse than that of a Galloway or a Buchanan, since unlike the Bush Administration, Barry, Biden and Jim Jones are not fighting a war they believe in. They're sending troops into battle for a cause they don't believe in, to boost a reelection campaign.

And so what started out as two straightforward wars to rout a brutal Islamist gang, capture Al Queda terrorists, and remove a tyrant, morphed into nation building exercises in the Bush era, and have now become completely detached from any strategic goal, but that of "Re-Elect Obama-Biden in 2012". It's straightforward enough to see that the more the real goals drift away from that of defeating the enemy, the harder it will be to achieve it. The military is essentially a blunt tool. It is best used for blunt objectives. You can only apply so much finesse with a hammer, until you either break what you're trying to fix, or render the hammer unusable. But for the last 7 years we've been trying to use a hammer with finesse, and the body count has climbed horrifically as a result.

The problem is that we've never gotten over WW2 and its nation building aftermath as a victory condition. And so we shifted from winning wars, to rebuilding infrastructure and winning the hearts and minds of the population. In 1939, the conventional wisdom was that if only an isolationist America had agreed to stay on in Europe, the whole mess of WW2 would have never happened. But while that conventional wisdom might not be wrong, it ignores the fact that we don't know what would have happened if the US had made the kind of investment that Wilson wanted. Or the kind of investment we did make after WW2, maintaining bases for generations, and become the permanent guarantors of European security. History would probably have turned out differently, but there's no way of knowing exactly how.

In 1948 the conventional wisdom certainly said that we had to save Western Europe by rebuilding it in order to keep the Commies out (except for the conventional wisdom coming from the left, which demanded that we get our imperialist asses out and let the "people's parties" who had resisted the fascist beast claim their right to rule). And so we did just that. We saved Western Europe from the Commies-- only to hand it over to the Islamists, rampaging into the senescent remnants of what had once been great nations, who had forgotten how to stand up for themselves. But is it typical enough of the FDR-Eisenhower era that the people in charge could never comprehend that a nanny state turns men and women into children. And that protecting others too much weakens them so that they are unable to protect themselves.

What implications does this have for Iraq and Afghanistan? Once again we repeated the same mistake we made in Vietnam, cultivating tame useless armies of soldiers who won't stand and fight, because they know Americans will do the real fighting for them. We've schizophrenically tried to set up or back governments whose only real agenda is stashing away the dollars we've injected into their economy with our nation building efforts. And we have no idea how to fix any of that, because none of it is fixable.

For one thing our goals are completely detached from reality. Creating stable working governments is a long and painful process. Even in the United States, it took a long time to get to the Constitution, and we had to discard a previous system as unworkable. And that was in a country which had a tradition of working local governments. While we're dealing with regions where the only form of power is either tribal or tyrannical, usually some combination of both. Despite all the horrors of post WW2 Europe, we were still dealing with countries that had been reasonably functional and understood how democratic systems of government worked, and were our equals in most areas. That is again not the case in Iraq and Afghanistan, where we are not rebuilding, so much as trying to recreate them into shapes that we find acceptable. And without an extensive colonial project, that is simply not going to happen.

But none of that even matters anymore. As a former resident of the Muslim world, Obama understands these things himself already. He's simply pandering to the Americans who don't, and throwing away the lives of American soldiers, in order to withdraw on a high note. Obama doesn't expect to break the Taliban, only to demonstrate enough resolve so they'll cut a deal that will avoid any mobs chasing after departing embassy helicopters. He's deluded on that note, because where the Taliban might have cut such a deal with McCain, they won't with Obama, who is just too weak to be taken seriously. Obama's outreach to the Taliban turned Karzai into a loose cannon, further destabilizing the network of tribal alliances, and making it even more impossible to get the job done.

But what is the job anyway? As a blunt tool, the military was never a good choice for winning the hearts and minds of the population. Nor should that have been the goal in the first place. The leftover ideas from WW2 about nation building might seem fine in theory, but are virtually unworkable in reality without turning into a vast multi-generational colonial project on the British model. And such a project would change us, as much as it would change them. And that is the twist in the hook. Because the war we are fighting has already changed us. It has imported Islamic and Middle Eastern culture in a way that we are mostly not aware of. That is the flip side of all such efforts, that they change the conquerors almost as much as the conquered.

Colonialism is not an American project. On the other hand destroying the ability of our enemies to harm us, is. And a strategy that hinges on keeping the Islamists out by reconstructing their countries plays to their strengths, while exposing our weaknesses. We don't need multi-generational nation building projects to stop them. We had the Taliban on the run in the first wave of attacks, and we removed Saddam with very few casualties. Our mistake was trying to step in and take over their jobs. Our strength is not running backward third world countries, it's making it clear that if they pose a threat to us, we will destroy enough of them to end that threat. It's hard to build WMD's or invade your neighbors when you lack basic infrastructure. And tribal leaders who support the Taliban should know that we will bomb them without regard for the collateral damage. It's crude. It's blunt. And it creates a stalemate that favors us.

Beyond that our real war was not in Afghanistan, which was a staging ground for the Islamist proxies of oil rich Middle Eastern states and the Pakistani intelligence service. We've been suckered into fighting a proxy war, while the emissaries of the real enemy in Saudi Arabia take meetings at the White House, and advise us on how we can lose. The enemy is being armed and funded with our money. The money that we send overseas in exchange for oil that was ours to begin with, before a bunch of burnoosed thugs seized it and used it to fund their own terror armies. For every billion that we spend, all they have to do is spend a few thousand to keep us on the ropes.

The same thing goes for the Shiite side of the equation, where Jimmy Carter's support for the Ayatollah has culminated in the ascension of the Revolutionary Guard to the de facto rulers of Iran, with an Allah sent mission to expand and confront the Great Satan. The bulk of our troubles in Iraq come from Tehran. Our passivity in that regard has emboldened Iran to push on into Afghanistan. Iran is now regularly carrying out ambushes in Iraq, whether of US troops, American backpackers or Kurdish guerrillas. And treating this as a problem that we can solve with more Iraqi reconstruction is exactly the wrong thing to do.

The terrorists are the sharp end of an oil spear being plunged into our bellies. And we're choosing to replay the same Cold War strategy we used against the USSR, that required us to fight a long global cold war for two generations, and several botched hot wars against Communist proxies. And in the process we're selling out our real allies and putting our faith in Muslim dictatorships, including the same ones funding the terror networks, to see us through. It's bad strategy as we pay in blood, cash and oil, while they just pay in cash.

Instead of thinking of innovative new ways to dress up the same old nation building hearts and minds strategies, it's time to confront the real source of the problem. Bluntly and forcefully. For too long our Muslim allies have been playing both sides, soliciting our protection, while they nurture and feed the terrorists who are killing us. This double game is business as usual in the Middle East.

The same Kuwaitis who enlisted American PR firms to sell us on Gulf War #1, enlisted more PR experts to portray Guantanamo Bay as a gulag and force the release of the Kuwaiti 12. The Saudis whom we protected in that same war, went on funding Jihadi mosques and just plain Jihadis. Beyond the Middle East, the Pakistani ISI service which we used to fund the Afghan resistance, helped build the Taliban, and it's still playing a complicated double game, complicated further by internal rivalries in both countries. Trying to sort through this mess, just tangles us in it even further. The only way is to decisively cut the Gordian Knot, to end the games and make it clear how we will respond to terrorism. Unless we do that, we'll continue to be stuck in the same objectiveless limbo, fighting hosts of ghosts and shadows, rather than striking at the real enemy.

Tonight, would you light a candle with me?

Bigbentz2005 | October 20, 2006
"Light A Candle"- The Israeli entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002. "Light A Candle" is an exciting ballad sung by Sarit Hadad, one of the most popular singers in Israel.the contest was held in Tallinn, Estonia. However, the atmosphere behind the scenes was very anti-israeli, because of the conflict in the Middle East. Some European TV announcers even asked the viewers to not vote for Sarit during the broadcast itself. The song scored only 37 points(12th place).

Iran to Open Nuclear Plant in September 2010

Source: The Jerusalem Post

Iran will open its first nuclear power plant by September, said Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi in a statement to the IRNA.

The plant is situated in the southern Iranian city of Bushehr. Salehi said the plant passed one of its "most important and final tests, the hot water test, before its inauguration."

Iran also plans to lunch a new satellite in the last week of August, according to an Iranian news report cited by AFP Wednesday.

"We have reached the point of no return," said Salehi of the power plant. "Grounds are prepared for the final opening of the reactor. After 37 years, the grounds have been prepared for the opening."

Construction of the power plant was first contracted by Berlin in 1975, but Germany ended its involvement after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Then Russia agreed to build the 1,000-megawatt reactor in 1999, but the $1 billion project has suffered repeated delays, Reuters reported.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke out against Russia's plans to start the Bushehr plant, calling it "premature" in light of international concern over Iran's nuclear program.

Iran says its nuclear ambitions are peaceful, and aimed at generating electricity.

Speaking of Iran's planned satellite launch in August, Iranian Telecommunication Minister Reza Taghipour said the satellite, Rasad 1, marks Iran's "newest achievement in space technology."

Teheran launched its first Iranian-built satellite in 2009, called the Omid, conciding with the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The US Government: Lilly-Livered, Weak-Kneed, Hopelessly Corrupt

Ron Ewart
June 4, 2010
“The budget should be balanced. Public debt should be reduced. The arrogance of officialdom should be tempered, and assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest Rome become bankrupt."

-- Marcus Tullius Cicero, philosopher and statesman of Rome - 106 BC to 43 BC

The most powerful nation on Earth? Hardly! With our apologies to the fairer sex, America is ruled by the pink-panty crowd, afraid to offend, afraid to portray strength and afraid to win, but not not afraid to deceive, lie, cheat and steal . It apologizes when no apology is warranted. It skirts around victory with our sworn enemies but refuses to close the deal in the hopes that our friends and enemies will "like" us and think we are being magnanimous and compassionate. The true reality is, our enemies look upon us as weak. Brave men and women have died and sacrificed needlessly for wars we didn't have the stomach to win. That should be a treasonous act.

We cut one-sided deals with dictators in countries with nuclear ambitions, who purposely ignore their promises, then take our "goodies" and continue their nuclear programs in the dark of night and in secret.. Our stupidity gives them the time to harden their nuclear operations underground, where our bombs can't reach them.

We negotiate in weakness with our enemies, who then stab us in the back at every opportunity. Instead of holding them accountable for not honoring their contracts or treaties, we enter into more worthless contracts and treaties and provide more goodies. It's a shakedown at best and the American taxpayer gets to pay for the egregious mistakes made at the hands of their corrupt and negligent government.

Generals in our military are sick of playing pussy foot with our enemies when they know they have the power to conquer any country on Earth...a power that is denied them by the inept, inexperienced, spineless and pink-panty- wearing leaders of America. General McChrystal finally had it and laid bare the festering anger and frustration that permeates a military rendered almost impotent by a community organizer and the inmates that have taken control of the asylum known as the U.S. Congress. Obama is a Lilly-livered, weak-kneed village idiot that should have never become president, if the media had exposed the sordid details of his entire socialist/Marxist life, early on in the campaign, or answered, once and for all, laid to rest whether Obama is a natural born citizen of America, as required by the Constitution.

We will prosecute wars in foreign lands at great cost to the taxpayer and the blood and treasure of our young men and women in uniform, but we refuse to protect our national borders against an invasion of people who seek our generous benefits, without having to go through the proper doors and pay the price of admission.
It is so bad that open warfare has erupted all along our Southern border and we shrink from engaging the perpetrators, while tens of thousands of illegal aliens, drugs and white slaves pour into America every month.

Each month America's national culture is diluted by the poor folk of broken and corrupt countries, who seek not to assimilate but to "steal" our jobs and our safety net generosity. We send billions to Mexico to fight the border war, at taxpayer expense, but won't put the resources on our own border to seal it. That too is treason and a direct violation of the government's absolute duty to defend America from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Further, government refuses to enforce current law on businesses hiring illegal aliens, thus increasing the power of the magnet that draws them here in the first place.

Every month the cost of this invasion by the hordes from poor countries gets larger and larger, while those who occupy the seats of power in what is America's Rome, use the chaos at the border as blackmail to pass amnesty legislation. This amnesty they desire is not for altruistic or compassionate reasons, but is for the sole purpose of adding socialist-minded illegal aliens to the voting rolls, to maintain perpetual liberal-progressive power.

The only thing that will save America from this unprecedented and hostile invasion by a foreign power, is putting troops and unmanned drones on the border with orders to shoot to kill anyone found crossing the border, outside of authorized border crossings. If this was done, illegal crossings would cease almost immediately. Irrational compassion will be the death of us.

The only way to win the war in Afghanistan is to use an over-powering force and bring the entire country to its knees with nothing less than unconditional surrender, just as we did in World War II. This includes the taking down of the current corrupt government. Anything less is a stab in the hearts of those who are forced to meet this enemy with rules of engagement requiring their hands be tied behind their backs and their guns empty. More treason!

This author bears no illusions that the Lilly-livered, weak-kneed criminals and cowards in Washington DC will do any such thing. So be prepared for the all-out invasion of our Southern border to continue and the war in Afghanistan to go on indefinitely, or we will pull out with our tale between our legs just as we did in Vietnam, with the sacrifices of our dead and wounded having been for naught.

On the other hand, there is one area in which the prevailing power in Washington DC shows great courage. For this deed they have put on their iron jockey shorts and grabbed their swords, spears and body armor. They are not at all reticent about passing law after law to subjugate the American people and take away their liberties. They show no cowardice in giving up American sovereignty by ratifying unconstitutional treaties. They lack no courage when it comes to spending America into bankruptcy, or nationalizing businesses, or destroying the engine that made America the most powerful and generous nation on Earth...Capitalism.

Their arrogance and elitism is open and notorious. They cannot tolerate criticism and look down on the people from their ivory towers of corruption. It has been reported that they have sent copies of the Constitution to be used in all of Washington DC's restrooms, but not for reading. They thumb their collective noses at those who oppose them. They demean the tea party movement as being nothing more than a bunch of rabble rousers who seek to overthrow the American government and are just a hair's breath away from violent acts to do just that, in the spirit of Timothy McVeigh.

They seek to pass legislation to silence their critics by controlling the print and electronic media in a scheme called the "Fairness" Doctine. They pass legislation to further the brainwashing of our impressionable and gullible school children, who are forced to attend our public schools of indoctrination. They pass legislation to lock up all of our resources and confiscate private property, with reckless disregard of constitutional protections.

These Lilly-livered, weak-kneed apologists, partner with national and international money changers, power brokers, socialists and radical environmentalists to lock up America in the distorted image of Europe and the United Nations and further their goal towards global government. These internationalists are intent upon stealing America's wealth, our resources, our freedom and our very sovereignty.

The people and the states that gave the federal government its limited power, as codified in Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, need to rein in that government, or this Lilly-livered, weak-kneed, cowardice and corrupt government will usurp all power and render the states and the people impotent.

Note:
Nail this one to every doorway, entrance, and wall in Congress, the House, and the White House - along with sending copies to the Department of Justice!

1st Amendment and a body bag

The "Framers" of the Constitution
must be rolling over in their graves ....
as the Obama administration progressives attempt
to dismantle the Constitution - amendment by amendment!

One of the most critical and preserving freedoms we have lies within the treasure of our 1stAmendment and freedom of speech yet it is viciously under attack by progressive liberals.   Shockingly many don’t even have a real clue what this actually means and what freedoms this covers.  McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum found that only 1% of adults who filled out a national poll had a clue about the 5 freedoms the 1st Amendment represents,   freedom of speech,  press, religion, assembly and right to petition our government. Most Americans can tell who the contestants are for American Idol,  follow the  details and gossip of the NFL stars and other absurd dribble.  According to the McCormick survey,  52% of the responders could name several characters on the Simpson’s.  Absurdly,  21% thought this Amendment had to do with ‘right to own a pet.’ Gee,  do you think our priorities and knowledge is a tinge out of wack?  How can we defend what we don’t even know we have???
We are seeing several dimensions of attack
Disclose act was narrowly passed in the House
This act is a Democrat/Progressive tantrum to counter the Supreme Court’s decision, back in January that said all kinds of groups,  from Tea Party to Union groups could express themselves with their funds clear up to the November elections.  Now,  with the Disclose act,  conservative groups will be buried in paperwork,  receive demands for lists of members,  and other regulations which will render them practically neutered with controls.
The hope and plan by the progressives is that this will silence and slow down the growth of the Tea Party groups,  Gun owners groups and other conservative,  groups that have mega lists and influence, nationally.
Shamefully,  the NRA was offered exemption from the Disclose act for their promised support and agreement not to fight it.   As a long standing NRA member,  I am ashamed!  This is not leadership,  THIS IS SELL OUT!  They need to stand for our 1st amendment rights,  that includes the rights for other gun organizations such as Gun Owners of America and the 2nd Amendment foundation,  not just their own backside!
Other assaults on speech
With all the gulf madness and lack of leadership with this emergency,  now see reporters and photographers are not allowed any closer than 65 feet of any boom, response vessel or even on the beaches.  I guess they might actually take a real photo and document what is really going on,  the good,  bad and ugly.   Naturally,  the Government ‘strangle’ structures put in place hide behind ‘safety needs.’  Most folks with only 10% of their brain working understand that this has nothing at all to do with safety but rather total media manipulation,  editing and censoring.  Especially,  since this administration has been completely incompetent in handling it.
Finally,  we see the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) blocking certain websites from being seen at their agency’s computers.  These naughty categories include:  Chat/Messaging,  Criminal activity,  gaming,  extreme violence and gruesome content,  then the ‘mother load of danger’…….controversial opinion.    I can certainly understand limiting your employees with games,  extreme violence and criminal activity,  but ‘opinion’  controversial opinion???  Does that mean conservative journals,  nasty articles and commentaries about our constitution,  freedoms and concerns of this administration?  I must be the anti Christ to TSA officials.
It is time to stand for ALL our 1st amendment rights,  not just the progressives when it suits them.

TERRORISM - Indictment adds al Qaeda figures to case

N.Y. subway bomb plot linked to British one

UNITED PRESS INTERNATIONAL Prosecutors speak to the media in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after Ibrahim Ahmed Mahmoud al-Qosi pleads guilty to conspiracy and offering material support to al Qaeda in the 1990s.

NEW YORK (AP) | A failed plot to set off bombs in the New York City subway system last year was part of a larger al Qaeda terrorist conspiracy that included a similar attack planned in England, U.S. prosecutors said Wednesday.
In an indictment unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn, prosecutors added several al Qaeda figures to the case, including Adnan Shukrijumah, an FBI most-wanted terrorist. Also Wednesday in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Ibrahim Ahmed Mahmoud al-Qosi, who was accused of acting as accountant, paymaster, supply chief and cook for al Qaeda during the 1990s, pleaded guilty to providing material support for terrorism and conspiracy at a hearing. Al-Qosi, 50, was accused of being a bodyguard for Osama bin Laden.
Shukrijumah, one of the al Qaeda leaders in charge of plotting attacks worldwide, was directly involved in recruiting and plotting the New York attack, prosecutors said. U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. has called that plot one of the most dangerous since Sept. 11, 2001.
Three of the men indicted Wednesday - Abid Naseer, Tariq Ur Rehman and an alleged al Qaeda operative known as "Ahmad" - were linked to a previously undisclosed companion plot in England.
"These charges underscore the global nature of the terrorist threat we face," said David Kris, the Justice Department's top national security prosecutor.
The Associated Press first reported last week that U.S. authorities think Shukrijumah was involved in the subway plot, and that Ahmad is in Pakistani custody.
Three U.S. citizens were arrested in September 2009 before, prosecutors said, they could carry out three suicide bombings in Manhattan. Najibullah Zazi, a former Denver airport shuttle driver, and Zarein Ahmedzay have pleaded guilty and admitted plotting to detonate homemade bombs on the subway during rush hour.
A third man, Adis Medunjanin, awaits trial. Prosecutors added new terrorism charges against him Wednesday. There was no response to a phone message left with his attorney.
After 9/11, Shukrijumah, 34, was seen as one of al Qaeda's best chances to attack inside the U.S. or Europe, captured terrorist Abu Zubaydah told U.S. authorities. Shukrijumah studied at a community college in Florida but when the FBI showed up to arrest him as a material witness to a terrorism case in 2003, he already had left the country.
In 2004, then-Attorney General John Ashcroft called Shukrijumah a "clear and present danger" to the United States. The U.S. is offering a $5 million reward for information leading to his capture.

AL QAEDA LAUNCHES ENGLISH MAGAZINE

New jihadi mag hopes to bomb

A page of Inspire, a new online recruitment tool for jihadists that touts itself as the first magazine to be issued by al Qaeda in English. The launch has been bumpy: Due to technical glitches, only its first three pages are available.

Call it the new journalism for a niche market.

Should your interests veer toward articles like "Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom" written by authors such as "The AQ Chef" and "Terrorist," there's a new magazine for you.
Dubbed Inspire, the 67-page glossy of photos and text is an online recruitment magazine for English-speaking jihadists. It's the brainchild of U.S.-Yemeni radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who is targeted for assassination by the Obama administration.
Published by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), the magazine offers messages from Osama bin Laden on "the way to save the earth," from his deputy Ayman al-Zawahri to the "people of Yemen" and from Mr. al-Awlaki to "the American people and Muslims in the West."
And it touts itself as the first magazine to be issued by al Qaeda in English.
However, its launch has been far from smooth. Due to technical glitches, only the first three pages are available online.
The fact that the magazine is in English indicates al Qaeda's attempt to reach potential recruits who do not speak Arabic. A letter from the editor notes that in the "West; in East, West and South Africa; in South and Southeast Asia and elsewhere are millions of Muslims whose first or second language is English."
Mr. al-Awlaki himself, who was born in New Mexico, is fluent in English.
Juan Carlos Zarate, a deputy national security adviser in the George W. Bush administration and currently a senior adviser to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said he had sufficient reason to believe the publication is authentic. He said he sees Mr. al-Awlaki's fingerprints all over the project.
But Mr. Zarate said the most significant development is that the publication is produced by AQAP rather than As-Sahab, al Qaeda's media arm, saying it indicates a shift of focus of the global terrorist movement to Yemen.

Breaking News: TSA drops policy blocking 'controversial' sites

Revises 'acceptable use' for Internet access after criticism

By Joseph Weber and David R. Sands
After an uproar from conservative bloggers and free-speech activists, the Transportation Security Administration late Tuesday rescinded a new policy that would have prevented employees from accessing websites with "controversial opinions" on TSA computers at work.

The ban on "controversial opinion" sites, issued late last week, was included as part of a more general TSA Internet-usage policy blocking employee access to gambling and chat sites, as well as sites that dealt with extreme violence or criminal activity.

But the policy itself became controversial as the Drudge Report and a number of conservative bloggers highlighted the possibility that the policy could be used to censor websites critical of the agency or of theObama administration in general. The American Civil Liberties Unionalso questioned the language.

TSA spokeswoman Lauren Gaches said the agency's revised "acceptable use" policy for Internet access on the agency's network was designed to block sites "that promote destructive behavior to one's self or others."

"After further review, TSA determined the 'controversial opinion' category may contain some sites that do not violate TSA's policy and therefore has concluded that the category is no longer being considered for implementation," she said in an e-mail to The Washington Times.

Before abandoning the guideline, agency officials said the policy changes were intended to address "evolving cyber threats," but did not explain exactly what was meant by "controversial opinions" and whether Internet sites with conservative or other politically oriented viewpoints would be targeted under the new guidelines.

The changes were first reported over the weekend by CBS News, which obtained an internal memo sent to agency staffers. The memo was the lead item on the widely read Drudge Report site.

The agency's Office of Information Technology informed TSA staffers of the change Friday via e-mail. The notice listed five categories of sites that were "inappropriate for government access" chat/messaging; criminal activity; gaming; extreme violence; and those that feature controversial opinions.

The inclusion of the "controversial opinion" category immediately raised eyebrows.

"There's always a danger that threats are used to justify over-broad restrictions on speech and other freedoms," said Jay Stanley, an American Civil Liberties Union privacy expert, before the TSAannounced it was dropping the idea. "But it's disturbing to see the TSA get the balance all wrong on that."

A number of conservative bloggers suggested the TSA policy change was an attempt by the Obama administration to target opposing viewpoints or criticism.

"We have known for years that the government has talked about the possibility of censoring the Internet to thwart opinion, but this is the biggest it has ever gotten," said a posting Tuesday on the "Conservative for Change" blog site. "When will we be able to get back to when people actually had the freedom to make sound decisions for themselves and not have some government tell them how it should be?"

The TSA episode was not the first time the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees the agency, has gotten into hot water with conservative critics.
Conservatives objected strongly to an April 2009 directive by the department that warned law enforcement officials about a possible increase in "rightwing extremist activity." The details of the warning were first reported in The Washington Times.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano later apologized to veterans for the report, which stated the increased risks were posed in part by a few disgruntled veterans who could swell the ranks of racist militia groups.

Note:
Make no mistake about it, ever since HOMELAND SECURITY's April 2009 memo was revealed and later called a "draft" the idea of censoring those who oppose Obama's policies are under the microscope of this administration.  Has this administration hired a "Controversial Czar"?  Who determines what is "controversial"?  Obama deemed Fox News "controversial" - and that is an example of just how far this White House will go to silence the people and hide the truth.
Would not be the first time a president spied on American civilians.  Nixon had his "black list", which American citizens found out after he was forced to resign.  Obama's administration has dropped more than a few hints that he would like to control the Internet.
I have posted a few articles on Google and its tie in to American agencies that request private information on citizens of the United States.  It is one thing to seek terrorists within our borders, but quite another to harass individual Americans for posting comments that debate issues being presented by this White House administration.
This week, Real Americans Defend Israel and another conservative blog were both red flagged for spam - supposedly, for "spam" by Google.  However, each site had a Homeland Security gadget running on their website (I had added this gadget within the last week!).  Here we think we are sharing with our readers the Homeland Security's "updates" when actually, it could be Homeland Security monitoring our sites.  So, the gadget from Homeland Security has been removed; and strange that just after this announcement on Friday, that one government agency's internet searches would be monitored, conservative blogs were "red flagged".   Coincidence?
The First Amendment is being attacked and unless Americans wake up, smell the coffee and demand that this administration begin recognizing the Constitution of the United States, we're in for one more battle for freedom - the battle of FREE SPEECH.
